I’m not seeing no calling plus after the update.

Luckily for me I didn’t have crashing issues updating my X this morning.

You lucked out! It was unbelievable. Our devices were sitting there charging and they literally started crashing over and over with the charge plug sound.

Seems like apps with local notifications were the cause.

Apple Support (and perhaps Sprint Support) is going to be swamped about this.

I guess the upside is that everyone affected will need to update to iOS 11.2 and they’ll have the latest carrier/baseband.

I was REALLY hoping and thinking that Calling Plus would be enabled with 11.2.  Damn.  ?

Yeah: I think that VCC is as far as we’ll get on iOS until the switch is flipped for VoLTE. With VoLTE launching next year most likely, it probably doesn’t make sense to build it for iOS.

Also, it’s possible that Apple doesn’t want Calling Plus and is telling Sprint to come back when VoLTE is available.

Seems an exception for “Calling Plus” was made for the Apple Watch LTE, which appears to do VoIP for Voice... but for the iPhone, it’s a no-go.

I added the TEP Plus to my plan. Does anyone know if this is the one with Apple Care tied to it? It was the only insurance that I saw.

Mine has not been working properly for a while. Dating back to iOS 10 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Sprint says they’ve been able to reproduce the WiFi Calling Issue on iOS 11.2:

Is Wi-Fi Calling not working properly for anyone else here since updating to iOS 11.2?

It's quite sporadic for me. Part of the day it works, and even that is hit and miss. And I'm on the 7 Plus.

I’m having problems too. It doesn’t even seem to work great with text messaging.

It's certainly a weird and wacky issue, that's for sure.

Apparently a backend fix was implemented last night to resolve this issue. Should be working properly now.

Weird. I turned it back on and it's not working at all for me at the moment.

Update: I did a service update, and it's back up and running.

This WiFi Calling Issue is a real thing. It’s affecting me and another line as well... and perhaps others on our plan.

I’ll bet we get an updated Carrier Bundle very soon to rollback some changes they made.

Hopefully soon. Although since 11.2, my phone has a harder time staying connected to my WiFi Connect router in right outside my bedroom than it used to. It appears whatever is affecting WiFi Calling has affected my WiFi in general.

    • Your referring to the $25.00 a month Infinite Unlimited plan?  I don't see any other plans on there even cheaper than that on their website.  I was looking at the Motorola 2023 Edge fwiw as well for $10.00 a month.
    • A heavy n41 overlay as an acquisition condition would be a win for customers, and eventually a win for T-Mobile as that might be enough to preclude VZW/AT&T adding C-Band for FWA due to spreading the market too thinly (which means T-Mobile would just have local WISPs/wireline ISPs as competition). USCC spacing (which is likely for contiguous 700 MHz LTE coverage in rural areas) isn't going to be enough for contiguous n41 anyway, and I doubt they'll densify enough to get there.
    • Boost Infinite with a rainbow SIM (you can get it SIM-only) is the cheapest way, at $25/mo, to my knowledge; the cheaper Boost Mobile plans don't run on Dish native. Check Phonescoop for n70 support on a given phone; the Moto G 5G from last year may be the cheapest unlocked phone with n70 though data speeds aren't as good as something with an X70 or better modem.
    • Continuing the USCC discussion, if T-Mobile does a full equipment swap at all of USCC's sites, which they probably will for vendor consistency, and if they include 2.5 on all of those sites, which they probably will as they definitely have economies of scale on the base stations, that'll represent a massive capacity increase in those areas over what USCC had, and maybe a coverage increase since n71 will get deployed everywhere and B71 will get deployed any time T-Mobile has at least 25x25, and maybe where they have 20x20. Assuming this deal goes through (I'm betting it does), I figure I'll see contiguous coverage in the area of southern IL where I was attempting to roam on USCC the last time I was there, though it might be late next year before that switchover happens.
    • Forgot to post this, but a few weeks ago I got to visit these small cells myself! They're spread around Grant park and the surrounding areas, but unfortunately none of the mmwave cells made it outside of the parks along the lake into the rest of downtown. I did spot some n41 small cells around downtown, but they seemed to be older deployments limited to 100mhz and performed poorly.
