Intermittent missed calls

My wife and I have noticed in the last week or two that if I call her cell when I'm at work and she's home I hear it ring like 6 or 7 times then goes to her voicemail but her phone never rings. And same vice versa if I'm home and she's out. NV is still rolling out but we've had pretty steady LTE for the last month or two. It doesn't seem to happen when we r other places only home. At gone phones on wifi with 2 to 4 bars. Any ideas possible upgrade issues???

It actually doesn't matter where the call is made from, and my phone is doing the same thing at home the last few days now. My job called me phone never rang on my end and a few minutes later a voicemail popped up. So I tried calling my phone from my house it rang about six times on the calling end then went to voice mail my cell phone never rang

As afazel asked, are you using Google Voice integration at all or do you get your voicemail through Sprint?  I had this problem constantly when I had full GV integration, and outgoing calls took a long time (20-30 seconds) to initiate.  Since just switching to using GV for voicemail instead of the full integration the problem has all but gone away.

No neither one of us use google voice at all, regular sprint voicemail, but now mentioning voicemail the last few weeks I've noticed that after someone has called and I send them to voicemail it has taken a while for the voicemail alert to show up where as it used to show up very quick

Side question of how many rings is sprint default before it goes to voicemail. I've called her at home testing and heard 4-5 rings on my end before her phone even rings

I have the same problem. I believe it is network related due to how widespread it is.

I was leaning toward that I remember reading here about a year ago in areas that were still being worked on that ppl were having this issue and text issues sporadically and they eventually worked them out with further completion of NV

Just as an update, I am now missing calls on a very consistent basis. After not using the

Phone for a while. I am very reliant on my phone for overtime from work and it is now costing me money. Anyone else just start having this problem out of no where

I have had sprint for almost 3 years now. Had a HTC evo shift for almost 2 years no issues, upgraded to iphone5 just over a year ago. They have been moving along with NV in my area pretty good have had LTE in my neighborhood steady for at least 4-5 months and just about 2 weeks ago got it at my work.

Now the weird part about 2 weeks ago I call my wife from work and her phone rings like 5 times on my end then goes to voicemail, I try 2 or 3 times same result then text her I've been trying to call her and for her to call me she calls me with no issues. Within the last week my phone has been doing the same thing.

Today and yesterday no ringing on my end from work then a voicemail pops up saying received about 15 mins ago. Trying some test yesterday I called my cell from my house phone after no activity for a while it rang on my end about 5 times then to voicemail, I was looking at my cell the while time had 2-4 bubbles. On the third try after 5 rings on my house phone side my cell starts ringing it now takes about 13 rings to goto voicemail, or when it goes through fairly quick its only 5-6 rings but they seem spaced out much longer

As of now it seems to be only in and around my house not at work or other places. Could something with NV be causing this?

If the problem is isolated to around your home its very possible that the site you connect to while at home is getting worked on.

Dropped, missed, and long ringing times are all symptoms of Network Vision upgrades, also texting seems to be hair pulling when they are integrating the 3G side of a site.

A few days ago three Sprint sites were down in a cluster in my town, the only one that was operational was the site sitting in the middle of town that services the downtown and surrounding areas.

I had that problem a few times before NV voice upgrades were complete. That problem is completely gone now (unless you don't have signal)

chicago is one of the areas i remember reading about things like this last year, so its not abnormal for this to happen even though we are a while into the upgrades?  I guess since they are not fully completed anything can happen

i havent missed any calls that i know of out of my home area, no voivemails popping up with no rings or anyone complaining, just happens that im home when im missing my overtime calls, guess i will have to proactively take overtime till this resolves itself.

Thanks

If you are in a launched area call sprint, also you can check the sprint zone app. You can do voice test on the app, see if it comes back ok. It has outage reports and everything on the app. It isn't a bad app at all :)

If it is a voice/text issue you can still report it now.

is there any special number besides the normal customer service number I should call, the regular reps just tell u to reboot, airplane mode, ##update# even if I tell them everyone with sprint in this area has the same problem

I would just try and insist that they open a ticket particularly if your phone is working in other locations. If they don't the only other option I can think of is sending a message detailing the issue to Dan at Sprint or Sprintcare (I am sure somehere knows the correct address).

It is most likely due to Network Vision upgrades in your area. Are you using the iPhone 5 in your profile, or is this with a tri-band device? On my Nexus 5, I have gone through stretches of intermittent missed calls, but it seems to parallel network construction in the area, and if I disable LTE it's fine. I also had the same issues others mentioned regarding GV, but that isn't relevant to your situation. It seems to be more prevalent on tri-band phones though. Have you contacted Sprint?

Anyone know if the fact that I'm missing calls at around the same time every day sounds like a NV issue, spoke with an officer I work with who has sprint and lives two towns away and he said his wife started Missing calls about 2 weeks ago also

    • Just revisiting the RCS issue and discussing another point I find odd.  Yeah, my family and close friends and most coworkers still mostly use whats app in our chats due to the odd RCS issues.   Some have Apple phones, some Samsung.  But using Facebook Messenger or Whats App handily eliminates those issues.   But the other thing I find odd is how all the information out there states that to use the Smart View app to mirror your phone to your TV that your TV and your phone have to be on the same wifi network.  That is 100 percent untrue.  I've historically not had wifi at home and only use it in our common areas in our community or occasionally at work.  But primarily I just use my phone for everything and do not have wifi at home.  It's because I haven't needed it.  I've been using all my Samsung phones for the better part of a decade now as my entertainment center because it's simple, effective, portable and absolutely does not require a wifi connection for my TV in order to cast all the content from my phone.  I'm not sure why it is stated that it is required.  The two devices - as we all no doubt know - create a wifi direct connection between the two devices in order for smart view to work, however, no general wifi network is required at all.  Again, I've been enjoying the feature for close to a decade but I find it odd that they say that you need wifi at home to use it.  Samsung television sets, Roku TV sets, LG TV sets (I cast to all of them at work regularly, again, sans wifi) and TCL TVs are all compatible.  There are likely more but these are the ones that I regularly screen mirror to, again, without the two devices being on the same network (this is separate from the notion of creating a wifi direct connection between the 2 in order to enable the service). This is the sole reason I only buy Samsung phones.   I tried a Pixel device before the Pixel 8 (which was the first to allow display out via wired connection for streaming) but it simply did not offer the same feature.   I wonder why they say this.  It's interesting if nothing else.
    • Yeah, I probably see it through a Washington/Oregon market lens. And maybe a little Nebraska too.  These are the only places I have monitored Tmo overlay of USC closely. Tmo has already added service on 80% of the same towers that were unique to USC just 5 years ago around here.  The 20% left are either too close to an existing Tmo site, or, probably already on Tmo's plans to collocation.  But there is one USC site on the beach where our family likes to go that I am dying for Tmo to add service.  There won't be a lot of new coverage added here. But I have not done really any review in other USC areas.  But I definitely think it's a good move. Robert
    • Found Ericsson C-band+DoD in Brooklyn. What tipped me off was when I mapped a new eNB in this area on Halloween but I didn't see any permits for a new site in the area and the sectors I mapped matched the existing site that was there. Drove by it today and sure enough it's an Ericsson C-band + DoD site, likely one of the first in the city.  This is eNB 110340, formerly eNB 115257. — — — — — Also a T-Mobile new build in Queens. The permit for this one was submitted last year as a replacement for another monopole that got demolished nearby. It must've only recently got installed because it was offline when I drove by it.
