Intermittent missed calls

My wife and I have noticed in the last week or two that if I call her cell when I'm at work and she's home I hear it ring like 6 or 7 times then goes to her voicemail but her phone never rings. And same vice versa if I'm home and she's out. NV is still rolling out but we've had pretty steady LTE for the last month or two. It doesn't seem to happen when we r other places only home. At gone phones on wifi with 2 to 4 bars. Any ideas possible upgrade issues???

It actually doesn't matter where the call is made from, and my phone is doing the same thing at home the last few days now. My job called me phone never rang on my end and a few minutes later a voicemail popped up. So I tried calling my phone from my house it rang about six times on the calling end then went to voice mail my cell phone never rang

As afazel asked, are you using Google Voice integration at all or do you get your voicemail through Sprint?  I had this problem constantly when I had full GV integration, and outgoing calls took a long time (20-30 seconds) to initiate.  Since just switching to using GV for voicemail instead of the full integration the problem has all but gone away.

No neither one of us use google voice at all, regular sprint voicemail, but now mentioning voicemail the last few weeks I've noticed that after someone has called and I send them to voicemail it has taken a while for the voicemail alert to show up where as it used to show up very quick

Side question of how many rings is sprint default before it goes to voicemail. I've called her at home testing and heard 4-5 rings on my end before her phone even rings

I have the same problem. I believe it is network related due to how widespread it is.

I was leaning toward that I remember reading here about a year ago in areas that were still being worked on that ppl were having this issue and text issues sporadically and they eventually worked them out with further completion of NV

Just as an update, I am now missing calls on a very consistent basis. After not using the

Phone for a while. I am very reliant on my phone for overtime from work and it is now costing me money. Anyone else just start having this problem out of no where

I have had sprint for almost 3 years now. Had a HTC evo shift for almost 2 years no issues, upgraded to iphone5 just over a year ago. They have been moving along with NV in my area pretty good have had LTE in my neighborhood steady for at least 4-5 months and just about 2 weeks ago got it at my work.

Now the weird part about 2 weeks ago I call my wife from work and her phone rings like 5 times on my end then goes to voicemail, I try 2 or 3 times same result then text her I've been trying to call her and for her to call me she calls me with no issues. Within the last week my phone has been doing the same thing.

Today and yesterday no ringing on my end from work then a voicemail pops up saying received about 15 mins ago. Trying some test yesterday I called my cell from my house phone after no activity for a while it rang on my end about 5 times then to voicemail, I was looking at my cell the while time had 2-4 bubbles. On the third try after 5 rings on my house phone side my cell starts ringing it now takes about 13 rings to goto voicemail, or when it goes through fairly quick its only 5-6 rings but they seem spaced out much longer

As of now it seems to be only in and around my house not at work or other places. Could something with NV be causing this?

If the problem is isolated to around your home its very possible that the site you connect to while at home is getting worked on.

Dropped, missed, and long ringing times are all symptoms of Network Vision upgrades, also texting seems to be hair pulling when they are integrating the 3G side of a site.

A few days ago three Sprint sites were down in a cluster in my town, the only one that was operational was the site sitting in the middle of town that services the downtown and surrounding areas.

I had that problem a few times before NV voice upgrades were complete. That problem is completely gone now (unless you don't have signal)

chicago is one of the areas i remember reading about things like this last year, so its not abnormal for this to happen even though we are a while into the upgrades?  I guess since they are not fully completed anything can happen

i havent missed any calls that i know of out of my home area, no voivemails popping up with no rings or anyone complaining, just happens that im home when im missing my overtime calls, guess i will have to proactively take overtime till this resolves itself.

Thanks

If you are in a launched area call sprint, also you can check the sprint zone app. You can do voice test on the app, see if it comes back ok. It has outage reports and everything on the app. It isn't a bad app at all :)

If it is a voice/text issue you can still report it now.

check it out, it is always work looking around the app. I didn't know you have a iphone, I know you probably love your iphone. But the other phones are so much more geek friendly lol

is there any special number besides the normal customer service number I should call, the regular reps just tell u to reboot, airplane mode, ##update# even if I tell them everyone with sprint in this area has the same problem

I would just try and insist that they open a ticket particularly if your phone is working in other locations. If they don't the only other option I can think of is sending a message detailing the issue to Dan at Sprint or Sprintcare (I am sure somehere knows the correct address).

It is most likely due to Network Vision upgrades in your area. Are you using the iPhone 5 in your profile, or is this with a tri-band device? On my Nexus 5, I have gone through stretches of intermittent missed calls, but it seems to parallel network construction in the area, and if I disable LTE it's fine. I also had the same issues others mentioned regarding GV, but that isn't relevant to your situation. It seems to be more prevalent on tri-band phones though. Have you contacted Sprint?

Anyone know if the fact that I'm missing calls at around the same time every day sounds like a NV issue, spoke with an officer I work with who has sprint and lives two towns away and he said his wife started Missing calls about 2 weeks ago also

    • Crunching the numbers a bit more, covering the full MSA would result in slightly under 80% population coverage. But they'd have to deploy on essentially every micro/macro cell in the area.   Yeah, I'm not gonna pretend like I know how either negotiations with squatters or Auction 108 will pan out. That said, I can't see 3.45GHz being *that* valuable to squatters considering the strict buildout requirements.  Another interesting thought I had was a possible spectrum trade with Dish. Dish is still leasing 600MHz to T-Mobile in quite a few metro areas, and I'm sure T-Mobile is looking ahead to what their lowband spectrum situation will be once those leases expire. If T-Mobile is truly going to rely on n71+n41 CA as much as they say they will, it sure would be nice to be working with more than 5MHz-10MHz of n71 uplink capacity. Don't go quoting me on that, though, total (pipedream) speculation haha.
    • Great job on your analysis of small cells versus the 3.45GHZ and the population coverage requirements. I wonder if the fcc is stalling because they may address the key limitation of of 2.5: the convoluted frequencies. Not sure how they would get there, but it would be better public policy if you could actually use a single license in current times, ie 5, 10 or 20MHz. Of course they could also go in more of a nonprofit or small business direction. But most likely they will keep it as planned given how messy the transition would be. In many/most metro areas BRS/EBS is fully licensed. Would be nice if they put pressure on the squatters.
    • I didn't actually look at the buildout requirements before making that comment - they're definitely going to have to deploy on macro sites if they want to hit the buildout requirements. PEA001 has a population of 25,237,061, of which they will have to hit 45% in 4 years (11,356,677) and 80% in 8 years (20,189,649). If they were to cover the entirely, all five boroughs, of NYC using only small cells (something I'd say is impossible considering their current small cell density), they'd only be covering 32% of the population in the PEA. And this is with spectrum that only adds 300Mb/s per sector and will likely have only 50% the range of their current n41 equipment. Doesn't really seem worth it to me. I'm of the opinion that they're looking to hedge their bets in further EBS/BRS acquisition.
    • These strand mounts also are deployed with Band 46 (LAA), in my experience. I have yet to encounter a strand mount with exclusively 2/66.
    • Bought a esim "sim" card a few weeks ago that operates in all of my more current phones according to its app. It arrived a couple of weeks early from Berlin.  Now if my MVNOs would get moving and support more than iPhones and rarely Pixels so I can test this thing. https://esim.me The only item really troubling so far is reviews in google play store keep getting deleted, even 5 star ones.
