Sprint Pay as you Go plans?

dang.....

Yeah, seriously. What's the point? And if you have those devices already, it says you have to use the special branded SKUs that go along with the pay as you go version and can not activate a post-paid device.

To be honest, EVDO 3G roaming is terrible to begin with. Speeds are terrible, more like 1XRTT, at least they always have been for me.

Are you sure that you actually have had EV-DO roaming? That requires a special PRL. Most Sprint PRLs enable only CDMA1X roaming. Regardless, both EV-DO and CDMA1X, native or roaming, will display "3G."

Interesting. It never even occured to me that the 3G light might not mean EVDO even though that makes total sense. Good point; I'll use Phono next time to get the details.

I've been able to roam on 3G here in Arkansas I know I was on 3G cause when I had the 4s it said extended 3G and I've also gotten it on my evo lte because when I did a speed test it was like 1mbs + down. It must be on crickets network though because usually when I'm roaming on Verizon and don't put an area code it says sorry we can't complete ur call blah blah Verizon and I don't get that anymore but the call still gets an error message

The EV-DO roaming in the South is far too widespread to be Cricket. It is VZW (former Alltel) EV-DO, part of a roaming pact that Sprint signed with Alltel prior to the acquisition and that VZW must honor.

I think Sprint might be wanting to consolidate their prepaid brands. The only reason i would have to switch to the actual Sprint branded service is for the roaming. But honestly im not sure if 70 dollars a month really justifies that. Hopefully they can work out the kinks and get it to work with any phone they offer and maybe adjust their plans pricing a bit.

Maybe Sprint will become the prepaid brand and the rest of Sprint will get a new name like SoftBank USA after the buyout is complete.

Nope, I have already seen in FCC filings how the naming scheme is going to play out. A newly created SoftBank subsidiary called Starburst II will acquire a majority interest in Sprint Nextel. Then, Starburst II will rename itself Sprint. The Nextel name is being completely excised.

Look for this to be officially announced next week at CES 2013, as well as a possible announcement of the ZTE Aurora, and possibly the first few 800 LTE compatible phones!

Honestly, I've never seen anyone who was approved for zero lines. Minimum, it's one line and a hefty deposit.

My credit score is 600. Sprint approved me for 2 lines for only 200 deposit. Sprint is the most flexible out of the 5 carriers. As we already know Dan believes in the prepaid name. But the new plans and phone selection is Meh at best

You got approved for 2 lines with a deposit? My credit score was like 520 and I got approved for 2 lines without a deposit, just a spending limit. I guess Sprint likes me, lol. Of course it took a year and three months to get approved for a 3rd line.

And give them time, they will have better phones for Sprint as you go.

That's the only thing I can think of. But if their plan is to consolidate their pre paid brands then they should just go ahead and do it. As long as Boost and Virgin are in operation Sprint does not want to undercut them, so you get this PAYG plan that does not quite measure up to Boost and Virgin.

I think they may be wanting to test the water with it. But they should just do it....no point in beating around the bush as I always say.

Lol we have a similar credit score so maybe age played a factor and the fact I've been to all carriers except T-Mobile
