Hmmmm yeah that's where I live too. I'm not sure then. Can only be good news though!

My address on their files would be Rio Rathole, while my # has a Boston, MA area code though...still, no text for me anyway.

I understand the willingness to move, but NM needs to seriously looking at the number of graduates that are leaving the state. This is starting to become a concern of mine with the ABQ Economic Development Forum. There are not a sufficient number of jobs with skills in the city (or state).

It's pretty tough here right now. The biggest engineer employers are the labs. Sandia will always look out of state to hire someone before in state, it's very odd. Los Alamos, where I worked previously, just doesn't have the money right now. There are some other small firms, but most need mid career folks. We'll probably end up somewhere else. I just hope it's somewhere with mountain biking and skiing ;)

Sorry for briefly side tracking the thread...

Totally off topic....but I'm a recent STEM graduate from UNM.  I'm leaving to pursue my PhD and I can't say that I'm planning on coming back.  I love the land, but I'm not so much of a big fan of the culture around here.  And I don't mean as in ethnic culture (I'm a Hispanic originally form TX) but rather the economic/work culture that I've encountered in New Mexico.  I feel for those of you trying to improve it here because its a tough road.  Good luck!

Have you looked at Salt Lake City?  I love that area of the country and you'll get much of the same outdoors type of environment as you do here.  San Diego would probably also work for you two (except for the lack of skiing but then you have the beach instead).

Well my wife's phone just received the text from sprint. She is interested in getting the HTC one max. I am wondering about the next HTC one, I really liked my LTE EVO, Just not sure what to expect in the next couple of months for phones.

It's hard to put into words, but I know exactly what you mean.

Just notice some crew workers working on a possible Sprint tower, it seems like they are replacing the antennas.

Take some pictures if you get a chance, as close up as possible to the new panels would be nice.

I agree, but I am leaving also for San Francisco/ San Jose. Maybe my wife will actually get a job there since las cruces has plenty skilled workers here so that my wife can't get hired. Did I mention that I got great LTE in that area? I doubt I will see LTE here before I move. Even with the text from sprint.

Funny that you say that since I just started watching Warehouse 13. Any connection???

I cannot confirm or deny that. :hah:

Tested twice at San Mateo/Osuna and got sub 100 pings (95 and 97). The DL speeds were a not so amazing 1.5. At San Antonio and North frontage, I got 5-6 hundred on the pingd, and a top DL of .04. The Jefferson and Alameda area is staying pretty consistent with the low 100 (ping) and DLs in the low 2 Mbps range. That being said, the area had poor performance yesterday.

Was this on 3G or 4G? if  3G, those are quite impressive, if 4G, it was probably a very weak signal.

The towers are upgraded where u got good speeds. The sub par performance was a flag pole mono pole.

Tmo is god awful between ABQ and Santa Fe too. Also, indoor coverage can be pretty crappy in ABQ. Where Tmo has zero bars, Sprint usually at least has one or two. But where Tmo is good, it's very good.

Well I've been driving to Santa Fe the last two days and let me tell you... service is pretty darn crappy on Sprint too. There are about three dead zones. One is around la bajada, the other one is by the san felipe casino and the third is in between sandia pueblo and bernalillo. I'm hoping this is just a problem of those towers getting upgraded.

What device are you using? The very bottom of La Bajada for about 1/2 mile and the very bottom of San Felipe Pueblo for about 1/2 mile was all I ever had as a dead zone. I've never lost a signal between Sandia and Bernalillo.

However, the Sprint 3G speeds between Santa Fe and Bernalillo are great. Often over 2Mbps. On Tmo, you will be 100kbps EDGE from 3 miles north of US 550 until the La Cienega exit.

Tmo is completely unusable for about 3 miles around San Felipe Pueblo. But it does not drop at La Bajada, as they have a little witty bitty EDGE tower on the canyon rim just to the NE of the freeway. If you look for it when north bound, you'll see it. Cute little thing.

Oh, and one other thing. San Felipe Pueblo is a dead zone to all providers. The pueblo won't let a tower be erected. 850 gets there a little better from the Budaghers tower. But no one has good service there.

I'm using an iphone 5S But i didn´t have that problem before, so I think that issue is due to whatever updates they are doing for NV on the Sandia Pueblo?

Can a tower only send a 4g signal one direction and 3g signal in the other direction?

It's possible.  But not likely.

    • I was traveling for a couple of days.   Sunday evening, I upload from 3 phones.  A S-22 and two Moto 5G phones.  Everything looked ok.    How do we explain that?   One person has issues and another person does not.  All my phones have the latest update.
    • Uploaded data without issues on Friday. Now with the latest update I am getting "Cluster #1 skipped: invalid file format detected. File exported for inspection." Doing same with all other clusters. Did this on 4 phones in a row.  Seems to work on s24 ultra just fine. On s21 ultra it says "web data upload failed. No data to send" although 8800 records were displayed. Now gives same error as above. I have not sent the data from 3 other phones.  All should have latest update.
    • After several months of testing, an update to SignalCheck Pro is rolling out on Google Play. It may take up to 48 hours to become available for download. Notable changes include: Added option to display site notes for NSA 5G-NR cells. Enabling this new option (Preferences > Display Settings > Show NSA 5G-NR Site Notes) will cause the app to make an "educated guess" as to what the most appropriate site note is linked to the connected NSA 5G cell, using the PCI and the device location. If it finds an existing entry that is likely to be relevant, it will display the note along with the distance from where the strongest signal from that cell was logged. While connected to NSA 5G, these notes cannot be edited; a valid NCI is required to add/edit notes and that information is not available on NSA connections.   Added option to log cells with missing/invalid PLMN (such as NSA 5G-NR cells). Users asked for the ability to log data for NSA 5G, so a new option (Preferences > Logger Settings > Log Cells with Missing PLMN) will permit this.   Added option to display LTE info above 5G-NR info. Enabling this new option (Preferences > Display Settings > Show LTE Cells Above 5G-NR Cells) shows the same information that is currently displayed, but moves the LTE information above the 5G-NR information. Other changes: Code optimizations and enhancements. Improved Android 15 compatibility. Overhauled Purchases module. Resolved force closes impacting some GSM/LTE connections. Resolved issue with improper 5G-NR PLMN display when NR/LTE PLMNs did not match. Resolved issue with improper PLMN display with single-digit MNCs. Resolved issue with incorrect 5G-NR bands displayed on some devices due to Android bug. Resolved issue with incorrect number of neighbor cells displayed when some cells were unknown. Resolved issue with missing 5G-NR data when sector display is enabled. Resolved issue with saving 5G-NR site notes when NR/LTE PLMNs did not match. Resolved issue with settings to log missing GCI/NCI/TAC/PLMN being ignored. Resolved issues with web data export function. Updated internal libraries. Updated provider database. Updated target API to Android 15. I appreciate all of your support, and a big thank you to the members of the Beta Crew that help with testing and feedback!
    • Oct security update is out.
    • Stopped by again today and the antennas are up but it isn't live just yet. If other Sprint conversions are anything to go by it'll likely take about a month for the site to go live.
