Network Vision/LTE - Northern & Southern Connecticut Markets (includes all cities)

Landed at Bradley Airport this past Thursday. Very poor 3G; could not receive calls. :(

Yup, the tower at the airport still hasnt been touched.  During peak periods data and voice are really un-usable.  Good news is, that once you get off the airport, things have gotten a lot better.  Assuming you go any direction except west.  You can get LTE on the east side of the airport, but definitely not in the terminals.

Well sapposibly it has gotten network vision upgrades but i still have slow internet and no LTE...i bet those sites on top of the towers have been a ghost town as far as activity....so i dont know how they are doing upgrades or running maintenence...just gittr done!!!

Looks like North Central CT has 800 voice live. I can drive from Springfield to Hartford and not loose 800 voice (or really 1900 LTE either) the big thing is it hits all the towers it should, not just long distance. Side Towers in East Windsor appear live too.

okay so the tower closest to me had 3g only build gmo.  It constantly goes offline.  I make a call and dreaded beeps saying i dropped then no data connection.   Same problem with my other phone.  I think gmo towers are band-aid fixing.

same here with the hanover st tower in meriden..still in progress and just looked at the map and alot of upgrades have been done in meriden all 800 mhz but 2 towers...e.main st. is a 3g/800 at least and hanover st is still pending after at least 1/1.5 years...and it just so happens to be a tower that my home hits...this is crazy...seems like the looney tunes is in charge of the upgrades.

They must be out playing with those nice remote downtilt controls on towers.  I am on 800 voice everywhere for the last week, and my 2 normal spots, I was noticing I was running signal -65 and -58 (give or take a few ticks).  Today, in both those spots, without moving the phone, I saw the signals change drastically a few times, and a little while later change back in the other direction (went down to -45 up to -80 basically on both).  Then, it leveled off at about -49 on the one originally -58 and -52 on the one that was -65.

So my guess is they are really fine tuning the 800 coverage.  Pretty cool to see it happen like that.  I cant believe how good the 800 voice is.  I remember when I had Nextel in this area it was absolutely awesome.  Its even better now on Sprint 800.  Happy to see those old airwaves back in use.

Maybe this also explains why my head feels hot and I have a weird tingly headache?

Radiation is frying your brain!!! Lol.. But yes I agree, 800smr seems to be live everywhere I go. Too bad I can't get it while all my other lines do including the freaking EVO LTE!! :( Edited by RayTrue04

Are they getting it on standard PRL?  I have 2 other S3's on my account besides mine, and they dont get 800, I get it with the premiere sponsor PRL.  If I do a PRL update and go to stock, I go back to 1900 voice.

My G2 and HTCone on my line connect to 800 and use the same 55017 PRL. Meanwhile the EVO LTE is using 25017 but also is connecting to 800smr like a champ. The S3 I have no idea as my mom has that line and it's not in my possession most of the time but since it uses the same prl as the EVO I'm assuming it's probably on 800 as well. It's just this dumb Note 2! I hate Sprint and Samsung just said screw them and have us prl2000 so they won't have to workout a fix..

By the way, look at the text message that sprint sent me a few minutes ago. Things are going to be looking

good fairly soon.

i'm doubtful. got the same message.. its been a while since i posted in this thread, but i've had 4G at my home now for close to a year (New Haven) and there is still crap coverage in many if not all the surrounding cities. no 4G in orange/west haven/milford/etc.. in some parts of orange i can barely get 3G service inside my gym and that's 50 meters from a corp sprint store. i don't get it.. so unless they are flipping some switch that will turn on hundreds of towers to 4G i'm not buying it. 4G network is still crap in most of CT.. and while speeds and latency is much better than 3G, i've never hit a speed test above 8mbit/s download. 2-5mbit/s avg seems to be what i've expereince during this past year i've had 4G. so again, unless they hit some switch for many many towers to suddenly turn on, i think the year will pass by with barely any improvements.

starting to lose hope for Sprint, they are just so behind and slow doing upgrades.. i think by the time they fully deploy 4G half the other networks will be half complete with 5G lol.. not trying to sound like i'm bashing sprint because i've had their service for many years, but it is an embrassment how there is not even 4G coverage near corp sprint stores around here. it must be funny trying to sell a customer a 4G phone and geting them to buy in how good it is when the phone is showing a 3G icon.

If you need more than 2-5Mbps, you should find another provider.  Sprint will not have higher speeds for another year or more.  They will get a slight bump when Band 26 is deployed in your area in 6-8 months.  But high speeds will not be around until Band 41 is deployed likely in 12-24 months.

2-5Mbps probably meets your needs.  It meets the needs of 99% of all smartphone users.  A 3Mbps connection with a 60ms ping feels faster than a 10Mbps connection with a 180ms ping.  People think they need faster, because marketers tell them they need more.  And if you are that 1% who actually needs more, you should go to another provider.

I agree with you.  Milford is a joke! My buddy goes there for oil changes since he got a new car.  I get about 110ms ping with a -65 ehrpd  and get .20mbps down.   To me the 3g network is overloaded.  I live in an area where theirs active lte, except my tower which is gmo upgrade.  Even though the tower goes offline at least 3 times a month.  I've been with sprint for 7 years i noticed a big improvement i agree sprint neglected the network

We all know the network was neglected. We know it's overloaded. Yes, it should be farther along. But it isn't.

If you can't function until it is fixed, grab another carrier. You can always come back. Do what is best for your needs right now.

It will be better, LTE will be widespread soon. But, if soon doesn't work for you, try another carrier and see if it fits your needs.

My wife's iPhone 5S just pulled down 22Mbps down and 6 Mbps upload at the Hamden Home Depot.

And Scub, I was at the Orange PetSmart on 1/19/14, I sent an image through iMessage and it took 5 mins...

We all agree that Network Vision is taking an eternity to complete, unfortunately patience is key.

if anyone has access to look at the map of towers completed theres a good amount of geen popping up in ct especially in the new haven county and around stamford and bridgeport area...which hopefully means those are tri-band towers...r.i has just about the whole state covered...here in meriden all towers are green except 2...i would say come spring/summer the LTE coverage should be way better..and working better.

The green does not indicate any other LTE bands being lit up.  That means CDMA 800 Voice was accepted.  That doesnt mean that it isnt a triband site, but at this point and time, its extremely unlikely.

To see the Band 26 and Band 41 information, you need to become a premier sponsor.  With those bands live, it would be a "tri-band tower" as you phrased it.

Also note, there is no guarantee Robert gets acceptance reports on any of the towers in a timely manner, so yes, they could be live, and even the premier section doesnt know it, or know which ones, but again, extremely unlikely you have towers with Bands 25, 26 and 41 live.
