  1. this is what is starting to irk me about samsung. it's cool to see them put these new features in the phones, but it's like they are forgetting about the phone aspects and what a phone should primarily be which is a phone first, and a media device 2nd. when are they going to improve the sound department? i know for a fact people would rather have a phone with killer sound than a phone that can tell you what the humidity or temperature is in your pocket.. in the media department, HTC, sony and Motorolla are all killing samsung.. the new Xperia Z3 has dual stereo speakers at the front and sounds incredible.. meanwhile samsung is still stuck at putting that tiny crackling speaker at the back when people's ears aren't in that direction. also, very disappointed it's not water resistant.. they made the S4 active and S5 water resistant, yet on their highest flagship phone they skipped doing it. i could go on with other things, but i don't want to sound like am trolling.. i've been a samsung fan since the S2/S3 came out and currently have the S3/S4. since samsung pretty much lost focus on the phone/media aspect of the device i'm starting to lose interest in their phones. if the Xperia Z3 comes to sprint (unconfirmed/rumored atm) that will be the device i get, but if it doesn't then i guess i will settle with the Note4.
  2. i don't know if it's just southern New haven, but 4G just sucks here, and 4G is not new here. i've had it for about a year and a half.. sometimes even though i have full service and only a few blocks away from a tower i am going in and out between 3g/4g. there are a lot days where its extermely slow.. as slow as 3G. less than 1mbit/s. constant timeout too.. i could be browsing and have good LTE signal and i constanly have to retry the connection as data just stops flowing. it's almost as if they just threw LTE panels and didn't bother upgrading the backhaul. tbh, it's pretty pathetic how lousy it is considering it was rolled out here over a year ago..
  3. i remember when i was paying $4 a month and only $50 deductible. i took it off years ago because it's just not worth it unless you're real careless person with your gadgets.. fruad is pretty much the reason why it's outrageously expensive. i think out of the many years i had it, i only had to use it once. i bet there were tons of people getting new phones every month, so it only made sense that the price had to go up to make up for all the fruad going on.
  4. i just wished this phone had hardware touch sensitive buttons like the samsung phones. it clears up a lot of room on the screen because you don't have the buttons at the bottom of the screen. to me this design is just dumb when a phone has enough room at the bottom bezel for a couple hardware touch buttons. this is just one of the things samsung has done right.. i would like to get this device as i do like the fact is very durable phone compared to many other phones. i remember seeing a test done on a Z2 and they droped the phone on every single angle on cement from several feet up and the device barely had any scratches and screen didn't even crack.. i think it's going to be a bit awkward for me having those buttons wasting pixel space on the screen, but i am willing to give it a shot. if sprint does get it, my guess is it won't until later in the year after sprint is done pushing the iphone down people's throat.
  5. follow up to this message.. 4G seems to be down now in my home when i've had it for almost a year. basically i now have to force my phone to use 3G because it shows 4G icon but interent isn't working, 4G just sits there with no activity and it's been like this for a week.. almost felt like slamming my S4 to the ground but that will only hurt my pocket, not sprints. and regarding that sprint txt message about 4G, well it's been a month and still no difference in coverage. maybe they meant end of 2014? i did notice about a week ago i picked up 4G signal at my gym in hamden (near skiff st and stop&shop) but its there one day and 3G the next.. nothing still in miford, from west haven, orange, up past exit 38 in i-95 all 3G still. if this is how they're progressing in south (when it was the first to be worked on in CT) and a year has gone by since they started this county, i can't imagin when the folks up north will see anything any time soon.. if you're waiting for 4G i'd jump to another ship lol.
  6. i'm doubtful. got the same message.. its been a while since i posted in this thread, but i've had 4G at my home now for close to a year (New Haven) and there is still crap coverage in many if not all the surrounding cities. no 4G in orange/west haven/milford/etc.. in some parts of orange i can barely get 3G service inside my gym and that's 50 meters from a corp sprint store. i don't get it.. so unless they are flipping some switch that will turn on hundreds of towers to 4G i'm not buying it. 4G network is still crap in most of CT.. and while speeds and latency is much better than 3G, i've never hit a speed test above 8mbit/s download. 2-5mbit/s avg seems to be what i've expereince during this past year i've had 4G. so again, unless they hit some switch for many many towers to suddenly turn on, i think the year will pass by with barely any improvements. starting to lose hope for Sprint, they are just so behind and slow doing upgrades.. i think by the time they fully deploy 4G half the other networks will be half complete with 5G lol.. not trying to sound like i'm bashing sprint because i've had their service for many years, but it is an embrassment how there is not even 4G coverage near corp sprint stores around here. it must be funny trying to sell a customer a 4G phone and geting them to buy in how good it is when the phone is showing a 3G icon.
  7. another update: 4G is back today, so New Haven / Fair Haven and parts of hamden already have at least 3-4 live towers running LTE.. doesn't appear to be extemely fast as others LTE areas, i'm only getting about 4-6mbit/s but still take it over laggy 3G!
  8. well here is a follow-up to this.. i had 4G with full signal at my house for a day, then the next day it was gone.. so i thought maybe they prematurely turned on a tower.. in fact there is 4G coverage just outside of my house near rt 80 in southern CT a few blocks away still, it doesn't make sense how i had 4G one day and gone the next at the same location (my house).
  9. well that was lame.. back to 3g today. this is in new/fair haven zip 06513, near rt 80.
  10. woke up today and noitice 4g icon on my s3 in southern newhaven county, specifically while in my house!!!!!
  11. I am in southern New Haven area, and travel throughout the whole city, Milford, West Haven. East Haven, North Haven, Brandford, etc. haven't seen anything regarding 4G service.. heck, one of the main corp Sprint store is in Orange Conn (southern New Haven county) and not even 4G there. you'd think if they were deploying LTE they would at least have coverage around Sprint stores first. maybe it helps boost sales when sale reps can show customers whats to come.. if work has just started i doubt there will be any reasonable coverage until much later.. i am patiently waiting
  12. Total Upgrades: 72 29 voice upgrades 15 data capacity upgrades 28 data speed upgrades still no LTE lol.
  13. i kind of figured they would.. i mean, how else would they make up for the million (if not bilions) of dollars they are pouring into the LTE network upgrades.. i wouldn't mind paying say 10 bucks more a month if we were allowed hotspot usage (say 5gb a month).. seriously, it's 2012 and data should be dirt cheap.. if i were CEO i'd include 2GB of free data hotspot on everything plans and $10 extra for 5-6GB of data. i would probably do something crazy like $1/GB. i can only imagine what an advangte sprint would have over the other carriers if they steped up the game weren't so greedy like the other carriers when it comes to data.
  14. Suprised New Haven/East Haven CT isn't on that list, considering how populated southern CT is.. i have problems connecting to 3G judging by that list, maybe they're doing the rich towns first.
