Already a sponsor, just more of a lurker. And I think SPRINT should be thanking US for our patience. :-)

Touche, misread that... Couldn't agree with you more, but thank you for being patient on this site.  Our thread is one of the best as far as I'm concerned.

Hello everyone,

A friend of mine picked up some LTE in Newark.  He said that he work is in the basement in downtown and he was able to get LTE.  You can see the purple blobs in downtown area, that's from him.  I'm assuming he's picking it up from the downtown tower.

Yes, the tower was in test today.... I was also picking up 800 smr (voice), tower should be up and running soon.

Theres an insane number of sites being flipped on tonight. James has picked up a ton tonight. a lot of sites not expected. Its only 1:30am. Probably more to come. Its actually confusing to me which ones they did as handoff issues will abound. Unless they are doing only 800 and pushing a priority PRL to compatible devices and having a NV 800 overlay legacy like I mentioned months ago.

Yeah, it looks like Bowen Rd and a (new?) site on Americana Parkway are up.

Someone else can go and hunt for sites... it's -2 outside!

The amount of 3G NV coming live last night is pretty huge. Reynoldsburg, Pickerington, Obetz, Groveport, Grove City, Eastland Area, and more all at once! There were multiple towers in each area activated together thankfully.

As 4GLTE is popping up all over the Columbus area there is one question I must ask:  What good is 4G if the signal is always so weak its pretty much unusable? Sitting in a parking lot across the street from the tower on Morse Road, I get a signal registering at about -70 on Signal Pro. But when I try to use any of my apps, I get "no internet connection" messages pretty much all the time.  Facebook and Twitter timeout and I can't do a simple Google search. I'd rather have a functional 3G signal than a worthless and unusable 4G signal.

There's something going on with your phone. I use that site all the time from Easton with no issues. Indoors at Easton is another issue, but when I'm at Menards, Easton and East of the site, I have zero issues.

key to note a -70 signal on LTE is an AWESOME signal, LTE is more or less unusable at -118.  I've not had any issues over at Morse Road site especially when I visited Menards before they opened the new one on 23 in Lewis Center.

One thing to check because I've done it myself, make sure mobile data switch is turned on. Also with the enormous amount of 3G/800 and some LTE accepts, the network is bound to be a mess.

Thanks for the comments guys.  I get a laugh as I drive around 270 from 71 to Tuttle and my phone chimes that it is picking up 4G 5-8 times in that span, meaning I'm also losing my signal that frequently. My wife has the HTC EVO 4G LTE and she rarely gets a 4G signal anywhere.  She loved being in Orlando in December.  She got 4G for two straight weeks.

We were at a Darby home football game in November and my phone chimed it was getting a 4G signal. My wife actually hit me.

Sitting at my desk at Morse and Karl, I get a signal reading between -108 and -101. It's unusable for about 90% of the day. I was the first to report a 4G signal in this thread several months ago here at work.  When I first started getting it, I could watch HBO GO on my phone at my desk without so much as a hiccup.  Now I can't get Facebook to load unless I move closer to the elevators or escalators. Maybe my phone is in need of a tune up.  But her phone still never gets 4G unless the signal is ridiculously strong.

Just curious, anybody picking up converted towers today in Hilliard or Gahanna?

All quiet on the western front from what I can see

Try updating your data profile, let me know what happens after that.

Now in terms of your wife's phone, she literally has the worst LTE phone Sprint has ever released. It's been stated all of S4GRU how poor of an RF performer the Evo 4G LTE is.
