You have an android right?

If so, dl MSL reader and run it if you're rooted. If not rooted, call sprint and tell customer service and tell them you need ur MSL to get ur phone working again....

I've done both ways effectively....

You don't need an MSL to get to the LTE engineering screen.

Still working on getting my MSL so I can help more with the engineering screens, but I do have this screenshot I took at 23N and Lazelle. Seems like our tower is pretty strong. I couldn't connect, but it was visible.

I was rooted, but I unrooted and flashed back to stock so I could test out LTE both ways. I plan on rerooting, but didn't have a chance last night. I'm familiar with the msl reader so as well as getting it in terminal, but I lost the number somewhere. I didn't think about calling sprint though. I completely forgot that that's how we used to do it. I'm also going to try digiblur's instructions, but I am going to reroot soon either way.

I just tried typing in sprint where it stops me and asks for my MSL(as per digiblur's instructions) and it worked like a charm. I'll have more helpful post in the future.

Drove down Morse today. Speeds were between 4 and 20 Mbps. This was the fastest Speed Test I got.

If we're posting screen shots of speeds, this is my personal fav. LTE at Cleveland and Morse.

That isn't the way it works nor has it been like that in any market. I do not see that changing now and there really isn't any point to it. That would be going backwards at this point on the rollout.

Actually, it may be like that. Look at Chicago, and Cleveland. When the project was in full swing, they were in fact working in clusters in Chicago. This doesn't mean they'll all be flipped on at once, but so far it does look like acceptance reports for Cleveland are coming through in clusters. It may be the same in Columbus. At least, with 3G/800. For LTE it may be different.

I was speaking about LTE as that's what most are concerned with here.

There were times in Chicago where LTE sites came up in clusters. If backhaul is ready, I could see that happening here. Not saying it will, but I also wouldn't count it out. Any other market outside of Ohio and I wouldn't be making this argument. But the Moto-Samsung equipment issue may force that here.

Okay, so I work in Hilliard and live off Morse Rd. just east of 270.

I loaded Sensorly onto my Optimus G and ran a map across 70/670 to 270, then north to Morse Rd.

0 hits along that entire stretch.  So I guess, nothing along the central corridor.

Keep in mind that, unless you're running the LTE Discovery app, running Sensorly can actually make it harder to find LTE. This is because Sensorly maintains an almost constant data connection, meaning the phone has less opportunities to scan for LTE.

Folks its going to be a VERY interesting month for the Columbus market.  I have a very reliable source on when and what towers  are going live this month providing the dates don't get pushed out for some reason.

Can confirm, seen a lot of July dates for LTE on individual cascades. Roughly 30 and all on the outside edges of the market.

Looks like I'm giving up on my EVO... One last step to try, run stock ruu and see if it fixes my lte radio....

I've tried everything to get it to work and with lte starting spread soon, I need a working lte phone.

Going to try and trade it in for anything with working radio.

I would wait until there is at least more than one site broadcasting! With just one site, you never know if it's really your phone or if the site is acting goofy.

For what its worth a lot of the forecasted NV 3G dates have remained the same which is looking to have about 200 complete by the end of August. To add, the forecasted 4G stands at about 30 sites complete thru September but has continuously gone up. Thats just the reporting as of now and it can all change. The sites again are as described in the past, mostly outskirts of the Market with the southside of Columbus littered with NV 3G, so control any over optimistic dreams of LTE inside the outerbelt anytime soon.

It's 100% the phone... I've forced airplane mode 1 million times, sat next to another person with EVO lte and they had to swith airplane mode to get lte. I've tried about 5 times in the last week next to the tower, down the road, etc...

It's always been reported that the EVO lte radio is crap, mine is broken.... Lol

200 sites? Wow. That has to cover quite a bit of the total sites in the market. Sounds like back haul is pretty behind if they're mainly doing 3G upgrades. Will be cool to see another LTE site go live. I'm wondering if the site on Taylor Rd in Gahanna will be one of them. Lot of work going on in that area lately.

Its half the sites in the market and I wish i had more info on when backhaul is to be done, but i'll get it eventually. The LTE site going live was a real surprise to me mostly because of its location and that it wasn't forecasted in any reporting however many other sites were/are. It is officially signed off on as being a complete sight so thats good news. I'm assuming they fired it up for some sort of testing but im just speculating.

    • Was in Red Hook again and I swear there are as many Link5G sites as there are reserved small cells from franchisees in the entire neighborhood. It seemed like every other street I turned down had one installed. Hopefully carriers will start hopping on them soon. Seems like a lot of effort to go through for no one to use them. — — — — — T-Mobile converted the Sprint site on top of NYU Langone Brooklyn in Sunset Park. I first mapped one sector of it back in November 2023 but I thought it was a small cell so I never pinned it but I ran into another sector today which caught me off guard. I'm unable to find a permit for the conversion so it's definitely a surprise. There's another T-Mobile site 1 block away that T-Mobile initially installed back in 2019 so I'm kinda surprised they're keeping both considering the Sprint conversion is on a much taller building and coule potentially provide much better coverage to the entire area.
    • Still not seeing any ULS postings for pending T-Mobile UScellular merger in Dane county Wisconsin.
    • Came across another Crown Castle Solutions multi-tenant oDAS node in Brooklyn. Located at 40.7002286, -73.9612666. Nothing on T-Mobile or AT&T so I'm assuming these are all Verizon nodes that Crown Castle is anticipating another carrier will hop on down the line.
