james2oo4
I'm not sure either...I do know this, however... it's very annoying. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S III using Forum Runner
derrph
Are there any updates from anyone? My data has been on 1x for the majority of the day.
imex99
Not sure if network vision has ramped up or what but my voice is a little worse but data has taken a dive this past week... I'm going to drive by the Livingston near alum Creek tower to see if any new equipment tonight. Sent from my HTC EVO 4G LTE
breeze.gregory
I seem to be as lost as everyone else right now on all of the issues this weekend, but I usually have 5 bars at my apartment in Sunbury and all I can pick up right now is a roaming signal. I'm not getting my hopes up because I assume they probably wouldn't be working that far north yet but who knows....maybe.
derrph
I love sprint to the fullest but honestly this is outrage or whatever is starting to becoming very irritating specially for it to be going on for a week now. Sprint has always had network issues and I've stuck by them but sometimes I think I'm at the breaking point and ready to switch carriers. When I'm out and about and I want to post something to Instagram I can't cause of the network. Idk I was thinking and I had a thought of why didn't sprint just go with lte from the beginning? Why WiMAX? They were ahead in the 4g race but now they are falling last and tryna play catch up. If they would have went the lte route from jump yea there would of still been issues but they would of found solutions to build out quicker over time. Tmobile looks kinda good right now they have good coverage for all the places and states i visit. plus I dont see myself going to verizon or AT&T cause my friends who do have them pay wayyyy too much a month which I think is crazy. but I wanna stay with the underdogs for that triumphant victory but its hard. Someone please motivate me to stay or is there any type of updates that anyone knows of? Also as I type this my iPhone just said it couldn't activate cellular network out of the blue. quicksand jesus
I'm with you. T-Mobile looks good. I used them for a 30 day trial. The speeds were VERY fast I just couldn't handle having zero data when visiting a rural area. Sprint needs to do something quick. It may already be too late for them. imex99
Guys calm down, if we're in full blown NV build out this is the conversion from one rand equipment to another, go read through the Chicago threads, they had same issues. Breath and take the bad with the good. Sent from my HTC EVO 4G LTE

Sent from my HTC EVO 4G LTE The Chicago area has lte but there seems to be issues with the network even after but its just things that sprint needs to tweak and fixed. Based on what is going on there with their services such as the calls and texts while building out the NV. It is possible that we could be in the process of a NV buildout possibly. imex99
Chicago has lte but it's not complete... I would rather be were there at than our pathetic 2.5g I'm frustrated also but if Ur staying with Sprint, waiting is the game right now before that first flicker of LTE for Central Ohio. quicksand jesus
I am calm. What I said is that I tried T-Mobile but there was zero data when I was out of town. Spring is crazy slow, but at least I have some connection when I'm out in a rural area. I have a feeling like we are months and months away from any kind of lte. I've just learned to deal with it.....
Oakley707
I seem to be as lost as everyone else right now on all of the issues this weekend, but I usually have 5 bars at my apartment in Sunbury and all I can pick up right now is a roaming signal. I'm not getting my hopes up because I assume they probably wouldn't be working that far north yet but who knows....maybe. You may be surprised, without physically looking at the site I'm just speculating but a permit was pulled for a tower in Sunbury as early as 2/21. From what we have heard from other markets, they typically start on the outside of a metro and work inwards. If you are a sponsor take a look at the Columbus, OH permit thread. We have multiple sites near Mt. Gilead that have been pulled already as well. It's certainly possible work is starting to take place. The Chicago area has lte but there seems to be issues with the network even after but its just things that sprint needs to tweak and fixed. Based on what is going on there with their services such as the calls and texts while building out the NV. It is possible that we could be in the process of a NV buildout possibly. Let's all take a deep breath and understand that we are not "possibly in the process of NV builidout". We are in a currently being deployed NV market. Please understand that this could take six months or more before we start really seeing noticeable differences everywhere in our market but work is starting to begin. We have at least one site confirmed with work being done and at this point have over 80 permits pulled for our market. At this point it is just a matter of time. The intent of this thead and S4GRU.com is to keep all users informed of current and upcoming work. Let's make sure we take a positive approach towards this. If you are available, please find the nearest Sprint tower on the sponsor maps and find out if work is being done. This is really the only way we can confirm 100% or not. Otherwise, please make sure you call Sprint and obtain a ticket for your outage. Sprint can't fix what they don't know about. You'd think that others would call in, but that is not always the case... Unlimited Data FTW.
cjinohio03
I agree with some of the others. I understand it takes time, but putting up with crappy service is getting old. It doesnt matter where it is at in Columbus. I have problems from one end of Columbus to the other. Their customer service isnt much better and this is coming from a 15 year customer. irwinshere
If everything is so bad with sprint ... why did you stay for 15 years? Edited April 8, 2013 by irwinshere

Fraydog
This isn't a complaint forum, guys. If you have issues with Sprint I would advise calling in and filing trouble tickets on your nearby towers. I wish I could help you all out myself, but I can't.
derrph
It seems like my service is coming back around as normal or maybe I'm just seeing things. Normally if I'm on spotify I can stream without stopping and I would say about since 2pm today I've been able to do that now

derrph
Quick question. There is a tower by my house and I'm not sure if its a sprint tower but whenever I'm near it when I'm driving I got execellent service. But anyways I was driving past the tower and I noticed that the white panels at the very top some of them were missing. Is this the process that sprint does if in fact this is their tower and the removal of some of white panels are part of the building of NV? Oakley707
Here is the pic of the tower in question. Sorry for image on the side It's hard to tell from that picture, but if you become a sponsor of this site you will have access to all Sprint sites and locations in order to confirm the closest tower to your location and addresses for each site. May be worth your while. Part of NV is to replace the RRU's, but typically they remove the panels after the installation of the new panels. Every site is different though, so you never know. derrph
After looking at the permits on cell sites around columbus the tower that I had in question that was not to far from my house was indeed a sprint tower and its permit was pulled in February but based on what all needs to be done such as the removal of the two cabinets, no work has started just yet on it.
COZisBack
I follow the Pittsburgh thread as well because that's where I'm from and visit quite often. Looks like they're starting to see (keyword: starting) to see 4G access. It would be nice if we start to see access in the next 60 days. Curious to see the lead time between permits issued and actual deployment. Some of the Phoenix sites getting deployed now were issued in late November. Columbus started getting issued in early Jan so perhaps we should in the next month or so.

I'm wondering if it's already started.. we only have so many members here from the Columbus area, and it's possible that it's started somewhere and we don't know yet.
