Network Vision/LTE - Miami/West Palm Market

Mondays In Flames

Hmmm I have a question. I have an Airave in my house and so I guess my phone connects to it. Does this mean that there could in theory be LTE around my house and my phone wouldn't show it since it is connected to my Airave? Hopefully my question makes sense.

Been on the look out today here in Kendall. No signs of LTE. 3G speeds still horrendous. I live in Kendall. SW exit 120 ST from turnpike. Only thing I've noticed is that on turnpike between 120st and 88th st...speeds have improved. 1.5 Mbps average download.

Pulling from another thread: Sometimes having Sensorly actively running while moving can delay or prevent your phone from detecting or switching to LTE. Sensorly often requires an active data connection, and it's possible for your phone to not scan for/not switch to another band (LTE) while it has an active data connection. I would always start running Sensorly after I connected to LTE.

Doesn't mean there was LTE, just letting you know it might make it easier to miss!

This is good news. This is close to Doral and MIA airport. I spend lots of time around these areas. Looking forward to sprint LTE very soon. I've yet to find any LTE in Kendall.

In a few minutes I will visit some family in Hialeah, I will be coming from Pinecrest so I will take all the Palmetto north and will actually pass by Mall of the Americas (Flagler and Palmetto right?). Will my S3 switch to LTE on its own or do I have to be toggling airplane mode the whole trip?

If theres nothing on my way to Hialeah then I will go visit my wife's aunt in Miami Gardens which is just one block from the lit tower in Miami Gardens. Of course I will run sensorly if I catch LTE. Wish me good luck...

Flager and palmetto that is correct. On my iPhone 5 when I picked up LTE at Miami Gardens I didn't have to do anything. It picked up LTE on its own.

Hey by the way everyone me an my friend are going around tomorrow to see if there is towers being worked on an i have one question. Ilooked at the sprint network enhancement map an i wanted to know is that map accurate? Also should i go look at the towers that say they have data speed upgrades on them? I want to make sure i go to towers that say data speed upgrades on the map not voice upgrades. If any one can give me locations on exact towers to look at in west boca i would appreciate it

You know when people report but are vague its really disappointing.

Details are needed.

Location location location.

Not just that but people have been around here for a bit and know what we are looking for when you report a location

Like many others I got a very strong signal on I-95 traveling between Hollywood and Stirling. I managed to do two tests before losing the signal just past the airport (heading north). The first I managed 14.33mbps down 5.49mbps up and the second was 5.76mbps down and 1.23 up. Screen grab attached. post-5635-13508199996284_thumb.jpg

Just joined to share this info. I live in fountainbleau 33174 and picked up 4g last night for the first time. The max I've been on with speedtest was 15.47 Mbps down 13.28 up. But it toggles on and off from 3g/4g. All in all its good news for us.

Where in fountainbleau are you located at? I know the area well. Very close to Doral area. Doral and MIA airport area defiantly need some sprint LTE love.

    • Since this is kind of the general chat thread, I have to share this humorous story (at least it is to me): Since around February/March of this year, my S22U has been an absolute pain to charge. USB-C cables would immediately fall out and it progressively got worse and worse until it often took me a number of minutes to get the angle of the cable juuuussst right to get charging to occur at all (not exaggerating). The connection was so weak that even walking heavily could cause the cable to disconnect. I tried cleaning out the port with a stable, a paperclip, etc. Some dust/lint/dirt came out but the connection didn't improve one bit. Needless to say, this was a MONSTER headache and had me hating this phone. I just didn't have the finances right now for a replacement.  Which brings us to the night before last. I am angry as hell because I had spent five minutes trying to get this phone to charge and failed. I am looking in the port and I notice it doesn't look right. The walls look rough and, using a staple, the back and walls feel REALLY rough and very hard. I get some lint/dust out with the staple and it improves charging in the sense I can get it to charge but it doesn't remove any of the hard stuff. It's late and it's charging, so that's enough for now. I decide it's time to see if that hard stuff is part of the connector or not. More aggressive methods are needed! I work in a biochem lab and we have a lot of different sizes of disposable needles available. So, yesterday morning, while in the lab I grab a few different sizes of needles between 26AWG and 31 AWG. When I got home, I got to work and start probing the connector with the 26 AWG and 31 AWG needle. The stuff feels extremely hard, almost like it was part of the connector, but a bit does break off. Under examination of the bit, it's almost sandy with dust/lint embedded in it. It's not part of the connector but instead some sort of rock-hard crap! That's when I remember that I had done some rock hounding at the end of last year and in January. This involved lots of digging in very sandy/dusty soils; soils which bare more than a passing resemblance to the crap in the connector. We have our answer, this debris is basically compacted/cemented rock dust. Over time, moisture in the area combined with the compression from inserting the USB-C connector had turned it into cement. I start going nuts chiseling away at it with the 26 AWG needle. After about 5-10 minutes of constant chiseling and scraping with the 26AWG and 31AWG needles, I see the first signs of metal at the back of the connector. So it is metal around the outsides! Another 5 minutes of work and I have scraped away pretty much all of the crap in the connector. A few finishing passes with the 31AWG needle, a blast of compressed air, and it is time to see if this helped any. I plug my regular USB-C cable and holy crap it clicks into place; it hasn't done that since February! I pick up the phone and the cable has actually latched! The connector works pretty much like it did over a year ago, it's almost like having a brand new phone!
    • That's odd, they are usually almost lock step with TMO. I forgot to mention this also includes the September Security Update.
    • 417.55 MB September security update just downloaded here for S24+ unlocked   Edit:  after Sept security update install, checked and found a 13MB GP System update as well.  Still showing August 1st there however.
    • T-Mobile is selling the rest of the 3.45GHz spectrum to Columbia Capital.
    • Still nothing for my AT&T and Visible phones.
