I've been using the BlahHosting server in Dallas the past week or so. It is the most reliable of the remaining servers.

 

I used to use the MoeRadio in Dallas and the OneSource in Ft. Worth servers before that. They were much better and more consistent than BlahHosting and SoftLayer. But BlahHosting has had inconsistency issues lately. But it is still better than SoftLayer.

 

I hope MoeRadio and OneSource come back. They were the best speed test servers in the area. Whatever you do, avoid the Comcast ones. They are horrible at peak times.

Within the Speedtest app, click on the Tools button at the bottom. Then click on Change Server at the top. You may want to try some other Texan servers the next time your speed drops with a strong signal. It will help you rule out issues with the Speedtest server. I can sometimes have over a 10Mbps difference with LTE on some servers.

 

Speedtests are only as fast as the weakest link. And sometimes the weakest link is the server itself if it gets busier than it can handle. The best speed test results have a broad sampling of servers.

Question. I'm going to be in the Dallas area over the next few days. Just curious as to what I can expect reasonably from a 3G 1900 MHz perspective? I see that there is a lot of progress, but overall are you guys pretty happy with the areas that have been improved? What are your probably average DL speeds I should expect in the love field airport to central/north dallas area?

Sprint has not likely lied to you. Low level Sprint employees simply do not have reliable information on deployment. But we do. The DFW market is a highly active Network Vision area, and Denton already has three sites with completed LTE upgrades plus two more in progress. Ok we'll I've talked to managers and representatives and employees and evdo engineering and I get varied dates from all of them that are always wrong. I just want a plain simple answer on when 4g lte would come to Denton since I have never picked it up here and even the coverage map says it doesn't. Plus the 3g towers keep messing up. I've Called 21 times and had about that many tickets opened up and they always say they've fixed it, but it's never fixed which is why I want the 3g.no use in paying 80 dollars a month for no Internet or bad service

A track of LTE just showed up on Sensorly in the Denton area, so you're probably not far off.

Pretty disappointed.  It's been a little over 10 months since I first got an LTE signal.  Coverage is much improved since then.  I'd say I get an LTE signal about 75% of the time anywhere between Fort Worth and Irving.  Unfortunately, though, speeds leave a lot to be desired.  Areas where I'd previously get 20-30 Mbps I'm now getting 203.  And their 3G has gotten atrocious.  I work near the airport and my phone is pretty much worthless anywhere bound by 114, 635, Beltline, and Royal.  Unless things improve drastically by November, I'll be switching to Verizon.  Sorry, Sprint.  I tried to be patient...

Coverage is pretty bad in between Saginaw and Haslett off of Bond's Ranch. We're supposed to be covered, but it looks like the tower near Blue Mound Rd. and Haslett County Line Rd. may be having trouble. I've been trying to open a ticket with Sprint, and I might have finally been successful.

My signal is "fair" on my Galaxy S4

 

Band 26 is what I connect to and the signal sits at -105

 

 

 

The signal on my Galaxy S3 is "poor"

 

It connects to Band 25 with signal strength of around -110

My current location is near Downtown Dallas.  Currently I have 1 to 0 bars.  Nobody has been able to explain to me WHY, but that everytime I call they are "working on the towers".  Finally I was able to get a boosting device for my home to make calls, but use WIFI for data.  

 

My question is if I stay with Sprint, and get a new tri band device, is there a chance this whole situation will be fixed?

 

I have a Galaxy S2 so I understand why my data service is poor, but why is voice so bad in East dallas (about 2 miles from downtown?)

 

Also, my Galaxy s2 does not work from my skyrapper at work.  I have never made a phone call inside my office tower.  

 

Will a triband device fix this as well (does tri band go through buildings better?)

A triband device may help with LTE800 being able to travel more, but it may not be on at the tower serving you. Easy upgrade and see if it helps. Are you talking about Wimax signal or voice. I believe the s2's bars relay voice signal. But an airave is good for Voice, and you have WiFi so no Data issue there.

I've heard there are major issues in Dallas, but even the highest levels of sprint won't tell me what is wrong with the towers.  It has been over 2 years and they keep pushing back the dates on the towers.  I am being service by the Sprint tower on Mockingbird Avenue.
