I have personally roamed on both B17 and B2 so chances are that it's active on most if not all bands.

That's one part is still a SCP error. Most Sprint devices don't even Support B17. Att uses it as B12 now.

Don't know why but all of the AT&T roaming reported to date has shown B17, not B12. Even on my iPhone, Field Test reports roaming on B17. Here are a few links to other sightings of AT&T B17:

Correct, but AT&T does have a solid HSPA network that does voice. Maybe Sprint is working towards an HSPA/VoLTE roaming deal with AT&T (if they don't renew the VZW deal)

Wonder how from what I've seen most Sprint Android phones don't support B17. Att from what I've seen doesn't support it either. iPhone however has both.

Yep I know. I would rather buy the UNLOCKED Samsung devices. Supports both 17/12 as well as all carriers.

I tried but failed to roam on WCDMA/HSPA when I was roaming on AT&T LTE last month. Disabling LTE dropped me to VZW CDMA.

To set the record straight and clear up the confusion, B12 is a superset band of B17. B12 includes the lower 700 MHz A/B/C blocks (728-746/698-716 MHz). B17 includes the lower 700 MHz B/C blocks (734-746/704-716 MHz). ALL B12 devices support B17.

I know all that. However some devices don't have B17 in it so will use att thru B12. I was just trying to point out att 700 MHz is pretty much B12 now. That's all.

about 50 mins and 1h7min in they talk about health reasons. I believe they are the 2nd and 6th question there were more after that. The meeting was about what limits could they put on the looks and placement of the sites.

 

There were others meeting where health effects was a main topic I believe they were Charlotte and New Orleans if you wanted to look in those threads. New Orleans may have been just some one complaining about health after they learn a site went up out side their business when work was being done.

Even you know that towers being denied a permit due to health concerns rarely happen. All these folks ever manage to do is just delay a tower from being erect.

 

The real issue is zoning. Mobilitie is making the rounds first with communities that will allow 70 ft. tall poles. It seems for now, they are just skipping towns and municipalities that object such tall poles.

Why do you want B17? At&t is the only carrier in the US to use Band 17. Now that they allow B12 devices on their network through MFBI, wanting B17 is just redundant. Any device that has Band 12 will do just fine on At&t. Edited May 6, 2017 by greenbastard

I guess what I meant to say, which wasn't clear, is that since AT&T has MFBI implemented, B12 devices will be able to access AT&T LTE on frequencies included in B17. Should have probably wrote it out more clearly in hindsight.

They can't really stop them for health reasons because the FCC says they can't. Just like the FCC says they can't deny wireless if they already allow other technologies like wired even below ground. Small cells can be hidden pretty well if the city tells them what is allowed in their areas. Even though the mobilitie site by me would go unnoticed in 90% of the neighborhoods I go into. People will still complain and towns will still try and stop them no matter how they look. These magic boxes will bypass that whole process.

Not exactly.  But if you are going to look at it that way, why bring up T-Mobile?  Just compare it to the Airave, which Sprint has offered for more than a decade.

Since they ask you for your address when you go to pre-order the Magic Box, if you and your next door neighbor were to both order it, would they deny one of you since you're so close to each other possibly causing interference? Or would they just approve both of you and not really have a system in place to check that?
