1. probably right, but I'm actually thinking it as a PC, with different components that one buys. The carriers/manufacturers will still make money regardless.
2. Who's to say they didn't try to bribe the chip makers, but didn't have enough money or the chip makers told them its not possible in such a small package. Regardless, its true, its too late now. But one day, one manufacturer will create a future proof phone. One that can utilize the phones bottom connector and have different radio modules that can attach to the device so that you can plug and play sort of with any carrier, any where. The phone will still be a high power, top of the line device except no radios only wifi. You want to use it on Sprint, attached the Sprint radio module, want to use it on Verizon, get the Verizon Radio module, etc etc. TS out

4. Sorry for the double post but got the 4g lte trifi hotspot and my speed is better than I expected. Granted its midnight and probably less folks on the network. Sent from my Samsung-Galaxy Note using Forum Runner
5. On the topic of working in numerous forums dealing with numerous carriers and I can tell you that its the same everywhere. Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, etc etc. And from my experience it seems that when it comes to network issues, sprint is # 2 behind AT&T in complaints, Beyond network issues, Sprint is doing better than the other two n terms of complaints about phones, and customer service. 6. Speaking of the Mifi Option (sounds like a nuclear option), lol I ordered it last Friday and suppose to get it today. Although my laptop has 3G and 4G Wimax from Sprint, I figure I'll get the Sierra Wireless 4G Tri-Fi Hotspot and have both my laptop and Galaxy Note from AT&T connected to it. I love the phone but I've been really really close to the usage limits. Damn you Sprint for not having the Note. Anyway, With the Tri-Fi, at least I'll be covered when NV gets switched on here in NYC by years end. TS
7. I used to travel alot overseas and was tired of not having a true world phone. I then got the Photon and as luck would have it, i stopped going overseas. lol. So at this point, I am not really looking for a world phone any longer. If and when i do start going overseas again, I'll just get a temp one from the airport and just used that. TS

9. I've always felt that one nexus device on one Network was a bad idea and seeing how Verizon messed up the last one leads me to believe this rumor. But lets try to disect this for a moment. If a Nexus device will be coming from Motorola, Samsung, HTC and LG and potential more manufacturers that will be 5 nexus devices. Would all be on each network. I don't see that happening. But then again stranger things have happened. TS
10. Yeah I see that happening. If Sprint gets an exclusive it would be great financially. TS
11. If the article was referring to T-MOBILE instead of Sprint, then yeah i can probably believe it. Since T mobile helped start Android get off its feet with Android devices and is more global. Sprint is still cdma and not really a global player per say. Although i would love it, Google will just do as they did with Motorola and say they won't give it any special treatment, which to me is a mistake. Sent from my Samsung-Galaxy Note using Forum Runner
12. The Bronx is a totally different country. International roaming rates apply. :-) All joking aside, not yet. Then again its only the beginning. Soon enough all of NYC will be covered. TS Sent from my Samsung-Galaxy Note using Forum Runner
13. Yeah, it doesn't take much to be a sponsor and its pretty cool seeing the maps that show the sites that have 4G LTE getting upgraded. A few sites already in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens. One near my house in fact. TS
14. Well i am sure that Sprint will offer something like this as well once the network is up and running. Although this device looks like it will fulfill a need for some, I just think verizon is overrated. TS
15. eric, I have always had this dream/idea that the smaller CDMA companies would be bought out by Sprint and become a formidable threat to both AT&T and Verizon, but as I look at the number of subscribers in my little dream spreadsheet, the total amount of subscribers still wouldn't be anywhere near AT&T or Verizon. source: wikipedia as for the question of should T-Mobile merge with MetroPCS, I wouldn't like it. TS
16. Most likely no.From reading the threads here and elsewhere as well as Roberts excellent notes on the subject I came to the conclusion a while back that the Note will not come to Sprint this year (at least not sooner than the 4th quarter). Which is why I couldn't wait and got it on AT&T. Robert has shown us from this document recently posted in the EVO LTE pre order thread that there is one device currently in testing that will be released by Sept (3rd quarter). But I do not think its the Note. By Oct we will be very close to the one year anniversary of the current Note. So unless Samsung and Sprint get the Note out by 3rd qtr, I don't think it will come at all in its current form this year. Plus, Samsung has mentioned that they are already in the process of creating Note # 2, so by Nov/Dec I am sure they will announce it officially. Whether that will be the international version or US version or both is yet to be seen. me thinks it will be the International version first then a US GSM/LTE version In Jan/Feb and a CDMA/LTE version in Feb/Mar. What throws this theory of mine into a loop is the talks that Verizon is going to get one also by years end. If they do get a Note it won't be the updated one but rather the current version. It also seems that a Sprint rep made a post stating that Sprint decided not to carry the Note (at least this current version) see link. This is not to say that Sprint won't carry the newer updated version that Samsung is working on and what I think will happen. TS
