Ky WiMax. Pings in the ~300ms range and speeds maxing out around 128kb, and god help you if it rains. Calls to complain about the supposed 3mb service are answered with "Nothing wrong on our end. Restart your router."
I think I just saw in signalcheck on my phone LTE on 1922.5 for the up channel. I usually have b26 or 1912.5. Went to get a screenshot and it switched back to 800. I never thought I would get mad because I was on b26.
Corpus Christi, Tx was the place mentioned in a few articles.

I won't buy it because I don't need it, but I like the idea of them selling devices like this with Sprint integrated into it. Hope its the beginning of a new trend, I might just add a third line because of one of them.
This is why I asked above. My girlfriend and a few friends all use the voice messaging in BBM constantly and I was wondering if there is any gain to using DC. I just don't see the point in paying $5 a month to get the same thing I get for free.
Sure did, back on the 18th.

I would have more confidence in this rollout if they added it as a "Key Feature" on the smartphone page at Sprint.com like they do for Direct Connect. You could just select the check box and see all the phones that supported it. I dunno, it just gives me the feeling that Wifi Calling is a bastard child at HQ
Pretty disappointed this thread isn't updated more often with news of Sprint announcing more phones getting WiFi Calling. I was hoping this would be something that Sprint would really put some effort behind.
Thinking about picking up one of the Baofeng units off amazon for some passive listening before I attempt to get my license. If its something that grabs me I'll go whole hog and get my license
Everywhere I have been in the past few weeks my phone has been locked to 1x800. I'm more surprised now to look and see 1xRtt in the status bar than 800, which is nice. The only exception was Morehead, I had very poor service in that town
Maybe there has been genuine behind the scenes talks between Comcast/unknown parties and DT making Softbank want to get the jump on it. Only thing I can think of
So if successful there will be seven brands of cellular service under one roof. Sprint, T-Mobile, MetroPCS, GoMobile, Virgin, Sprint Prepaid, and Boost. I wonder what will be kept and what will get killed.
Had the opportunity to play with an Iridium Go a few weeks ago, and while the speeds are glacial it's still pretty amazing to be in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico on a sailboat and check your email or text message someone at home. I'm fascinated with modern sat networks but with the entry cost so high it means there is little interest with many people outside of the wealthy and industrious.
