  1. What is the current delay on the Gold and Silver color iPhone 5S's? I hear stores have tons of Space Gray color iPhone 5Ss.
  2. This seems to be some international model since the FCC documents only points to LTE Band 7 support of which none of the US carriers support. But hey great find....since it is a start to prove that the HTC One Max is not a vapor phone. Hopefully sometime this week, we can get some more news about a US variant of the HTC One Max.
  3. I totally agree with you. I think the LG G2 release is being purposely delayed in order to build up the LTE 2600 nationwide to have as many Clearwire towers upgraded as possible with LTE 2600 prior to launch (hopefully by late Oct) and not because of "production issues". If you look at the LTE 2600 map in the Premier Sponsor section it explain it all if you think about it. I know its just pure speculation but that is what I firmly believe.
  4. I don't think the Nexus 5 will only have one storage size variant. I think the base model will be 16 GB with an option for 32 GB model. The Galaxy Nexus had 16 GB and 32 GB models and the Nexus 4 had 8 GB and 16 GB models. Its hard to go against the FCC filing unless the D820 model is completely wrong but I think if the Nexus 5 wants to be competitive it needs to have at least a 2600-2800 maH battery. Just because the Nexus phone series is without a UI skin unlike the OEMS things like streaming video or gaming will eat up battery which a 2300 maH battery is not sufficient for. I think the other thing that concerns me is the type of camera on the phone and its features. I hope the camera sensor is based off of the LG G2 camera sensor but maybe scaled down a bit assuming its only 8 MP but I wonder if the camera will have OIS as well. I think OIS is such a great addition to the camera phone especially when you are recording video. I don't want all that stuttering.
  5. All the speculation on the 2300 maH battery is based on a FCC filing for the rumored Nexus 5. So it may or may not be 2300 maH. We won't know until they officially announce the phone.
  6. I am sure the base model will be 16 GB with a 2300 maH battery. The latest rumors have the camera at 8 MP which may or may not have the Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) feature. I think the OIS is fantastic feature to have especially if people are starting to use their camera phones as point and shoot camera replacements. I would be pretty bummed out if the Nexus 5 doesn't have OIS feature in the camera. If the Nexus 5 is a 2300 maH battery there is no way I am getting this phone. I just don't trust that a 2300 maH is good enough for my needs especially if you start streaming a lot of video.
  7. We all appreciate the work you do AJ on writing these articles for S4GRU. No matter what you call it Blackberry OS or BB10, people are going to get what you are referring to. Don't let a small detail like that bug you too much. I am positive this article has helped several folks out who is interested in the BB Z10. Although it does seem troubling that it is single band LTE but I am sure this device has been in negotiations for a long time before Sprint did the cutoff on single band LTE devices.
  8. Are u rooted and have titanium backup? If not u are probably screwed unless u can find the apk and reinstall it. Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  9. Another thing that I really liked from Sensorly 2.0 is that if you are looking at a 4G map and you click somewhere in the purple area (dark or light), you would get a popup telling you the signal strength of the 4G signal from 1 to 4 bars. I really liked that feature and I hope you can break that back in Sensorly 3.0 when you make your updates. Right now when I click somewhere in the purple area, I get nothing. I do appreciated the new "speedtest" feature on the maps. I understand that the darker the purple area is the stronger the signal is but I still appreciated that signal strength popup window when I clicked someone in the purple area. I agree for Sprint, a separate Wimax coverage map should be brought back. Also I liked "The Dave" idea of naming the coverage maps by carrier and each circle is the technology as seen below in the example Example: Sprint 1st circle - CDMA/EVDO or CDMA or EVDO 2nd circle - LTE 3rd circle - WiMax AT&T 1st circle - HSPA+ 2nd circle - LTE 3rd circle - WiFi
  10. Omg Oct 28...that is still so late. Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  11. Exactly. I don't know of anyone who was swayed away from not getting a phone they wanted because of benchmark tests.
  12. I doubt it. I don't think LG wants to make the Nexus 5 too much like the LG G2 by incorporating all of their secret sauce functions such as the GRAM and make the Nexus 5 the must have phone with up to the date Android updates. The Nexus 5 probably won't have an IR blaster either since Google probably doesn't care at all about that. But since I don't know the final specs of the Nexus 5 as of now, I am still leaning towards the G2 since I want that beefier battery with good battery life and 5.2 inch display.
  13. I just want Google to announce the size of the Nexus 5 battery. I hope its not the 2300 maH battery like in the FCC documents. I read a rumor today that the battery might be 2700 maH battery which is better and could sway me to the Nexus 5 but I still have to see performance once tech blogs have been able to review it.
  14. Where did u read that? Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  15. New version of speedtest app 3.0 for android is available now on google play store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.zwanoo.android.speedtest Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  16. Is there any evidence that the US and Canada governments have worked out a 800 MHz band plan yet? I would love to see progress on both sides of the borders to ensure 800 MHz can be used for CDMA and LTE in the next 3 years.
  17. Until the 600 MHz auction has occurred and VoLTE is ready for commercial deployment this merger should not happen yet. Any earlier than this and the merger becomes Nextel all over again. By the time Sprint and Tmobile should merge there should not be talks about moving Tmobile to CDMA or Sprint to WCDMA. They should both be moving towards VoLTE at that point.
  18. I never thought about it it that way though. Imagine LG network infrastructure equipment division. The big question is will it provide timely software updates like it doesn't do on its LG mobile phone division.
  19. I am going to assume that the free quickwindow case promotion is only for Sprint only preorders. Sprint would much rather have you buy it from corporate Sprint stores instead of 3rd party vendors which Sprint has to give a cut to. But you should call or confirm this when Oct 11th comes around.
  20. There are rumors about talks at the Nokia board about considering a buy out of Alcatel Lucent. Considering that Alcatel Lucent is bleeding in cash and not doing well financially this might be their way out. What do you guys think? http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/reports-nokias-board-considering-nsn-deal-alcatel-lucent/2013-09-26 http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702304526204579097711244440486.html
  21. Awesome!!! Thanks for the confirmation. Here is to hoping that all LTE phones from this point forward are using the new C-SIM system.
  22. What cash???? Sprint was bleeding financially with their debt prior to Softbank. Use the cash that was budgeted for Network Vision? NOOO I don't think so. There were a lot of different circumstances back then. The stock was at $2 and they were talks about possible tensions with Hesse and the Board and Sprint had to constantly spend money to prop Clearwire who kept bleeding money. The deal was structured where MetroPCS would get tons of shares in Sprint stock which would mean giving MetroPCS about 30 percent Sprint ownership and some cash. Sprint was not in a great shape financially. So no I am not looking at things through simplifying glasses. There has to be a reason why the Sprint board rejected it and I positive that it is due to the board not feeling comfortable on taking on more debt, giving up ownership, losing focus on Network Vision and frankly Sprint shareholders were sick of the poor financial results quarter over quarter. Of course we will never know the true reason why the deal fell apart in the last few hours but who cares. Either way whats done is done. No point in arguing over things in the past. Next thing you'll be telling me is that Sprint should have gotten Alltel instead of Nextel. Water under the bridge.
  23. They had no money plain and simple. This was pre-Softbank deal by 6 months. I actually prefer that we have Softbank if that means we give up on MetroPCS. The spectrum assets actually fit Tmobile more than Sprint since their main band was AWS spectrum. MetroPCS did have some nice PCS spectrum assets that would have benefited Sprint but Sprint was in dire straits. Lets not go back and start reminiscing what coulda shoulda woulda happened with MetroPCS. Right now we have Softbank and whether you like it or not, Softbank is the single reason why Sprint is able to buy Clearwire entirely and provide the liquidity for Sprint to complete Network Vision. Think about it, who would have imagined that we would be talking about LTE 2600 nationwide on all Sprint sites + Clearwire sites + more to fill in some gaps. I am sure any of us would have ran someone out of town if they suggested nationwide LTE 2600 due to the enormous costs of equipment and manpower. Surely Sprint (pre-Softbank) would not have the funds to do this and I am so relieved that we never went into the LTE wholesale agreement with Clearwire where they provide hotspot coverage for LTE 2600. It would have been a nightmare and wouldn't have worked out so well. At the end of the day, I am so glad Softbank swooped in and saved Sprint and now Softbank wants to turn Sprint into a wireless powerhouse. What more can you ask for?
  24. It doesnt matter. No matter how u spin it, it is still going to be a mess to integrate both sprint and tmobiles network. If u ask me it makes more sense to wait at least another 5-6 years when VoLTE becomes a reality. If they merged with tmobile at that point , sprint could just make the transition straight to VoLTE or could allow both networks to still exist for another 2 years. The key right now is that sprint and tmobile both still low band 600 mhz spectrum. Until that happens no deal should happen. Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
