  3. I'm convinced they sent all of our crews south to deal with Richmond's Motorola hangover. That said, I check permits on a regular basis and haven't seen anything new issued or filed. Although, the Sprint Network improvement tracker is showing a new tower complete in my neighborhood. Lucky for me I can take pictures of it from my balcony.
  4. Not sure why this is going political, although that would be a DMV thing to do. That said, taking a look at the city permits most were issued within 15 days and only one took more than a month (Looks like it was ontop of a water tower and required an FAA letter since it is on the water tower. Having recently visited Frederick County (and City) for my sister's wedding, I can see why the city has different rules to protect the unique nature of it's urban core. There are very few, lively, small cities like Frederick left and if I lived there I wouldn't want big box retailers to come raging in. Anyways, as mentioned, there are a multitude of reasons why things slowed to a crawl for a while. It could easily have been that most metro DC crews were sent south to blanket Richmond. The progress in RVA was truly astounding to me, basically the whole city was covered within a month. In a nerdy way, it was kind of amazing to see my GS4T go from unusable to more reliable than my work issued VZ iPhone. I am also very curious who the primary backhaul provider is out in Frederick. I know Comcast would be the primary AAV, but something smells of Verizon....
  5. I don't think you are trolling and empathize with your situation. Not sure where you heard the city council caused the delay, but there was a point where the last few towers to be touched were in City limits. It looks like those are now complete and the remaining towers are within County jurisdiction. That said, the wider delay is most likely due to back haul delays.
  6. You all just made my day. I checked the legacy network.sprint.com and it shows they have finished NV equipment work along I-95. Finally, one long drive of mine that is fully covered by new equipment.
  7. Yep, things are slowly improving on the southern I-95 tip. I drive from DC to RVA fairly often and my phone is not dropping nearly as much. Data has also improved to where I can use iHeartRadio without cringing. Progress!
  8. I bet they are announcing a revamp of their website. I noticed that Sprint Business received some new paint including an 'empower your weirdos' tag line. Not sure how well that would be received... https://www.sprint.com/business/index.html

  16. Has there been no activity on the towers? It could be that they just have not been accepted yet. Unlike Samsung in Cleveland, it seems that ALU is building from the inner city out to the suburbs. Interesting approach, but I do feel for you all. There was a point during the District roll out (we still have two large chunks untouched) where my phone was more useful as a hand warmer than a phone.
  17. I think American Tower is just trying to lure investors into thinking they are going to go gang busters in the next few years.
  18. So it sounds like you're in ground zero for drops. Hopefully, the next update will bring you all some relief. The roll out in the northern parts of Richmond were pretty quick. Luckily, RVA is the last big legacy hole on the eastern seaboard. For whatever reason, Spotsylvania and Caroline counties hate cell phone companies. The DC-RVA I-95 corridor upgrades were also slow for the other carriers.
  19. Yes sir, you are correct. I miss the old international blackberry plan that would allow unlimited data. Granted - BlackBerry's weren't the data hogs like smartphones have evolved into. Anyways, I was looking at Sprint's roaming rates for the Canary Islands (Spain) and it was a tad absurd. My account is technically a business account and they don't even have respectable options... $80 dollars for 85mbs of data is pretty steep. Even Verizon is more reasonable.
  20. Visited Frederick City for the first time this year and have to say, pretty cool place. Sad it took me this long to make it out there. Anyways, the 3G network was surprisingly reliable. The last time I drove through on my way to tubing it was pulling teeth for my phone to pull traffic data. Looks like three more towers need to be accepted in the Frederick 'metro area,' not sure what is holding them up. Two of them are pretty rural. Hopefully, the landowners aren't slowing things down.
  21. In all fairness, I actually live in the District unlike those NoVA posers...
