  1. You're probably connecting to a NV tower (jealous). Takoma Park and the immediate area has two completed NV (3G) towers. Hopefully, 4G will be switched on for you but I bet VZ or whomever is supplying the backhaul in DC is holding it up...

  3. That's odd - I see it at 14th and New York/G....
  4. I can't quote on LTE specifically but in the District (Downtown, 17th St and Logan, specifically) - I have seen 3G speeds increase to levels that I haven't seen since Palm was popular. So while 4G may be a month or so away - 3G is finally starting to improve and be useful.
  5. So after all my complaining last week about horrendous service at my office (15th and NY Ave NW), it seems that that short term pain was worth it. After months of 50kbps or slower connections - I just clocked in at a record 454kbps (on EVDO, so not a NV tower). While not strikingly amazing to most this 'band-aid' is MORE than welcome and my phone is now actually usable. For those that are curious the tower, based on network.sprint.com, was due to a data capacity upgrade. Can't wait to see what is next!
  6. We share the same intersection for our office and I can confirm that I have had the same issues but only recently. Historically, the voice/sms services were fine unless you were in the deep trenches of our building where even Verizon can't break through. I also think that the summer travel season has drastically increased local tower usage and that hasn't helped the situation. This should be temporary.
  7. I am blaming our current City Government for all the delays - too busy fighting off scandals to issue Sprint work permits.
  8. Sounds like my issues from earlier this week have moved to your side of town. Hopefully the tower in Shaw comes back online and restores some balance to the network. Although at my apartment in Logan I have had no issues (regularly pull 500+ on speed tests) and the closer to 17th street I pick up the NV tower - my phone has never worked that well in my life.
  9. My normal work tower came back online - sadly still same slow speeds but at least my phone can text and call normally. Oddly, eHRPD has also vanished..... Either way, I am excited to see changes are in progress in DC!
  10. The taxi system in DC, on the whole, just plain sucks. I think it's time we demand something more. http://t.co/UupneLV #DCcabsSUCK

  11. Also, just found the tower they were mentioning and that is clear across town in the neighborhood of Shaw. Hmph. The lack of communication from Sprint about NV is annoying but thank god for s4gru!
  12. So I wrote in Sprint's community to see if anyone else was having issues. One of their web CSRs responded with the following: Single Cellsite 9186353 At 2012/06/14 16:58:49 we experienced the following Problem(s) in the Washington DC : Washington DC Market: Single Cellsite (Intermittent service) Tier 2 engaged. 06/14/2012 11:58:00 CST 3 07/13/2012 23:59:00 CST 07/09/2012 09:52:08 CST DC03XC405 Washington DC 20001 So here comes my amateur question: how can I tell what tower I am connected to or supposed to be connected too? Most people reference something like this: DC03XC405 for a tower ID, so on my phone is the '405' the SSID? Also, this tower has been having issues well before I noticed my problems, so I don't think it is the root of the problem. Would these CSR's be able to see when towers are taken down for NV upgrades or is that a totally different system?
  13. I am jealous! I have been going between eHPRD, Unknown, 1xRTT and Out of Service. SSID: 356 though normally I connect to 296. Although, I can't wait for NV to launch in this part of DC. We need it!
  14. My tower right by the White House (15th and New York Ave NW) has been having intermittent issues all week. Either my SIII is acting up or they are finally putting a band aid on this often over worked tower. I normally pull down 30kbps, if I am lucky.

  21. I would just love consistent Data service in the Metro, but I completely agree about yappers especially on the Orange line during peak rush. They always complain about how full the cars are like it is a new phenomenon and all I tell them is to move into the District like me. Anyways, I wish Sprint was a bit more forthcoming about their NV roll out in DC.
  22. Anyone know how the overall deployment of NV is going on in the District? My speeds keep fluctuating from 1.5mbps to 88kbps. I posted on Sprint's forums thinking it is just an issue in the area but they don't have any notes of Tower issues. Frankly, I was hoping that the high speeds were Sprint testing the new towers but it has become rather inconsistent. It could also be the plethora of new tourists that infiltrate the area around my office (we work across from the White House).
