  1. Some more news on Clearwires deal with LEAP. Also, Clearwire is in negotiations with Metro PCS and has a deal with C-Spire. http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/after-leap-clearwire-looks-poach-more-customers-lightsquared/2012-03-15
  2. It would be interesting to see if the board would allow another go at Metro PCS for better terms. However, the article said Sprint may be looking for other aquisitions. I wonder now that LEAP signed that agreement with Clear if they or who else would be considered?
  3. I've heard good things about Anker, especially not being as expensive as Seidio and Mugen. Will have to try the charger and battery with my next phone.
  4. Samsung as well. Look for the GSlll here in the U.S. to look the same as the non-branded edition. The plus is we should get it sooner than what occured the past two years since Sammy won't have to change the design for everyone.
  5. I would think that a simple rule could be followed. High-end and qualified mid-level phones should be considerd upgradable since the physical specifications of the device can usually handle the OS updates. Entry-level devices get what they get. There is some truth that limiting the number of devices holds has some value, but we don't want the pendulum to swing over so far that the OEM's become like Apple and you get one device a year/OEM. I think the industry is still searching for balance on this one.
  6. The next big issue for wireless is: developing a chip set that is interoperable with the different bands of spectrum and roaming agreements. A chip hasn't been developed yet to allow cross usage among all the carriers spectrum, only a say about 3 or 4 different frrequencies. The FCC is going to have to step in to get roaming agreements. AT&T and Verizon are fighting it, but Sprint, T-Mobile and the regionals need it.
  7. After reading these articles it made me think of why Google has been changing its privacy policies and apparently its corporate direction. I'm first to admit that the subject of the article is an ex-Google employee on MS's payroll, but I was also curious as to why Google has apparently abandon its Nexus lines of phones. Google now just seems like a 'big company" who wants to make a profit instead of a innovator it used to be. Although this new CEO has done his due diligence and killed off some lines and programs that were going nowhere, it seems like Google has lost it's "Don't be evil" mantra. What do you think? http://www.bgr.com/2...oogle/#comments http://news.cnet.com...tag=epicStories
  8. This may show the fence sitters and soon to be ex-LS2 customers that its time to get on board. Maybe we'll see some momentum from this.
  9. Poor Dan needs our sympathy. http://www.theverge.com/2012/3/14/2870259/sprint-ceo-dan-hesse-board-pressure
  10. The experiment call WiMax is over. NV/LTE will cover Sprints entire native market when complete, assuming that Sprint doesn't run out of money.
  11. Just in case anyone hadn't heard yet but the EVO 3D and EVO Design are getting their updates. Looks like the EVO 4G and EVO shift will have to root to get ICS. 12. Clearwire has lost Comcast and Time Warner since they are chasing Verizon but will sell space to Cricket next year when it turns on its TD-LTE network. http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/clearwire-inks-wholesale-lte-deal-leap/2012-03-14
  13. Hmmm, I have to get use to LTE being around the corner. I assumed it will be Wi-Fi but your network comment made me think it could be out in LTE flavors as well.
