  1. Who claimed that? I don't know that anybody outside of the executives at Sprint could say for sure at this point. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk
  2. Interesting. Well supposedly it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission so I think Marcelo did the right thing.
  3. If I'm reading the specs page correctly, it looks like it supports CDMA on AWS. That's rather odd since Cricket and MetroPCS were the only carriers using CDMA on AWS that I'm aware of.
  4. Fortunately LTE coverage outside of The Strip is generally pretty good (would be that much better if we could have Band 26 ) so that's great for locals as long as they don't work on The Strip.
  5. Without The Strip or the airport being completed. That's just not a good look.
  6. You should tweet him and tell him that the current coverage map is unacceptable. Can't hurt.
  7. I was hoping for Commnet as well. In addition to the areas that you mention, they have extensive coverage in rural Nevada.
  8. I was wondering the same thing. I do seem to recall reading articles some time back detailing how GSM was far more vulnerable than CDMA. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk
  9. It works fine for me on 5 GHz with my AC router.
  10. Well they're currently paying ETFs and EIPs from all carriers, including Verizon, coming to Sprint. However, if what you're getting at is using Verizon phones on Sprint, that just isn't very useful since Verizon phones generally don't support Sprint LTE bands (and vice versa). 11. I'm pretty sure that Sprint already has ZTE in their device lineup. Personally, I'm not impressed with them, but they might be ok for the budget minded, especially if subsidies ever totally go away. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk
  12. I'm definitely curious to see who the new operators that they'll announce next month.
  13. They'll need a time machine to meet that deadline!
  14. Nice! Now if Sprint could snag a high end Nokia Lumia windows phone and a nice Blackberry, the Passport or something along those lines, their handset lineup would be top notch. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk
  15. NII has already sold off Chile a little while back and they sold off their Peru operations last year. They still have Brazil, Argentina and Mexico left. In any event, yes they are in quite the pickle currently. That's actually kind of funny considering that for years the Nextel fans here in the US pointed to NII as the shining example of how viable iDEN was and how successful Sprint would be if they just ran Nextel US like NII.

  17. It might just be my imagination, but I'd swear that Lurie looks like a younger version of Randall without the glasses. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk
  18. Really? Well I'd say that one's a slam dunk for him!
  19. I was always led to believe that LTE cells didn't suffer from the 'breathing' phenomenon in the same way that CDMA and W-CDMA cells do. Is that incorrect?
  20. AFAIK there are no Verizon phones that are compatible with Sprint's LTE network except perhaps the iPhone which has Band 25.
  21. That's exactly why Sprint would be wise to make a move for USCC before T-Mobile or anyone else decides to. With metropcs and Leap already acquired, it's a big mole sitting out there waiting to be whacked. Perhaps, but if Vodafone wanted exposure to the American market they probably wouldn't have sold off their 45% stake in Verizon wireless. I just don't see it. Not to mention that Voda is/was a takeover target themselves. Nor did I, but in retrospect it made perfect sense. The reverse merger with Metropcs was really the best way for DT to spin T-Mobile USA off into it's own entity. It's hard to imagine pouring that kind of money into this market especially with the AWS-3 and potentially the 600MHz auction upcoming. Still, it'd be best if Sprint removed the temptation and took USCC off of the board and maybe a couple of others while they're at it. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk
  22. Wow, regardless of how one feels about Sprint, that's definitely excessive.
