  1. Seamless data transitions between cdma to LTE and LTE to cdma has been possible for a long time now (at least on Android). I may be wrong, but I think ORNL enables the network to now push UEs (phones, tablets, etc.) to 3G if LTE becomes too congested, which currently doesn't happen. The only way a phone can go from LTE to 3G today is if it loses LTE signal. I'm assuming that will no longer be the case and the network now has another way of balancing user load.
  2. I wonder how sprint will rebuild their brand here in El Paso... its been very bad here for years Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk They're going to have to wait for either small cells or B26 to get cleared before they start to rebuild their brand. Network just isn't where it needs to be compared to the competition. I used to get better speeds when I forced my GS5 to roam on Movistar over Sprint's LTE near the border.
  3. El Paso is probably one of the most forgotten markets for Sprint. Sprint has better coverage on I-10 East from El Paso to the Sierra Blanca checkpoint than both T-Mobile and At&t. I used to roam on Telcel back in the day with At&t on some stretches of I-10. Unfortunately for Sprint, they've suffered with no 800 LTE and delayed deployment of B41.
  4. Hard to not speculate when you trumpet such a big decision alongside the newly president elect. Something is brewing.
  5. Permitting is a local issue, not national. Sprint has shown support for net neutrality, so I doubt they're lobbying to get rid of it.
  6. So how would you explain the CEO of Sprint hosting a fundraiser for Hillary? Sprint/Son have been positioning themselves for something big by dipping their feet into the political realm. The only logical "big" favor I can see them asking from the new administration is merger.
  7. Business as usual? I wouldn't call hosting a fundraiser for Hillary business as usual. Son is shooting for merger and I think it happens. Those new 5K jobs is a gesture of good will and I'm sure Sprint will find a way to technically "create" jobs without really having to do so. Give Trump some good will, and expect that good will to be returned.
  8. You may want to look a bit more into his businesses. It's not about the actual businesses, but the appearance of the businesses. Perception is yuuuge for him.
  9. Now that you mention it, it has happened to me on my 5x when I used to have Sprint. There was always one location that my phone loved to lose signal and a Clearwire B41 and Sprint B41 where within eye sight of each other. This issue better get resolved quick for Pixel users, especially if Sprint deploys Small cells outside of the few select areas it currently has.
  10. It's really easy to steal a spotlight if all Sprint did was announce their plans. These UnCarrier events usually offer something that will be available almost immediately.
  11. That's terribly confusing. Sprint ended up crediting your account, right?
  12. You're getting ahead of yourself. Everything you're predicting is unrealistic. The only thing that can be guaranteed is At&ts network becoming slow and congested.
  13. Sprint 8t8r radios inside the loop are now broadcasting B41 3rd Carrier at EARFCN 41374. Sprint is probably still testing since the new carrier is slow (sub 1 Mbps speeds). Unfortunately there aren't many towers broadcasting the 3rd Carrier since Clearwire antennas and radios are still widespread throughout the city and can only broadcast two carriers.
  14. Mostly things we already knew. He did mention Sprint is currently testing Band 25 Carrier Aggregation in a few cities. That's pretty awesome. But ultimately I would have loved if someone had asked him if they were still on track in using BRS/EBS for download and PCS for upload (pretty much a new LTE band).
  15. You can't just increase the transmitting power of an existing phone. They weren't designed for it just like old LTE T-Mobile phones weren't designed to Tx and Rx B12, even though they already support LTE.
  16. Which phones will be the first to offer High Power LTE UE for Band 41 and when should we expect them? What kind of performance improvement should we expect from these new handsets? Does Sprint ever plan on supporting international LTE roaming? When do they plan on rolling out VoLTE? Will they try to inplement a form of VoLTE to 1x SRVCC to deal with dropped calls or will they just implement VoLTE independent of 1x? What are Germany's chances of winning the 2018 FIFA World Cup?
  17. Awesome promotion from Sprint to their current customers. I just wish they would push this out to their customers via emails, text, or billing statements so it would get more publicity. It would be awesome if Sprint also matched T-Mobile ans allowed customers to use their regular data buckets, minutes and texts in Mexico and Canada as if they were home all year round.
  18. First batch of phones to allow this should be expected by early to mid 2017, correct? I remember reading about this a while back. It was part of the 3GPP Release 14, so current phones wont benefit from extended B41 coverage. But on the bright side, today's phones should benefit from the newer phones spending less time on B25 and B26 and freeing up that spectrum.
