  1. I've been having that problem for years. Most people blame Google Voice.
  2. How is it with NFC? I have the Spigen Ultra Hybrid case and my NFC never works right until I take it off.
  3. Remember that a lot of things have changed since that map was created. Sprint was counting on the following things to happen: Acquiring the PCS H block Hosting LightSquared 1600 MHz spectrum Maintaining a WiMAX network as they didn't yet own Clearwire. It's entirely possible that they were anticipating an increase in their network footprint based on buildout requirements by either the PCS H block or the LightSquared spectrum.
  4. I am assuming you don't ever go to Starbucks. A tall coffee is less than two dollars, and a short (a traditional six-ounce coffee cup, hence why the twelve ounce is a "tall") is even less.
  5. From a business point of view, you would think that the number of stores would be related to the sales volume, which in turn is related to the market share in the area. For instance, in Lafayette, LA, Sprint has gone from 4 stores to 1, because their market share is almost nonexistent despite having decent coverage.
  6. I also showed the math for the normal consumer plans so that you wouldn't say this exact thing. I agree, and I wouldn't be surprised if EPRP does go away once Framily becomes the norm. My opinion is that prices have risen twice in the last few years to improve the sustainability of unlimited data, and that Sprint will continue to offer it as (1) many people only stay with Sprint because of it, and (2) they just ran a massive advertising campaign to guarantee "unlimited data for life". My opinion is NOT that they are unjustified in increasing prices; rather, it is that they are using the new non-subsidized plans to attempt to mask the overall price impact, just as magenta has admitted to their investors that they are doing. They are counting on the consumer to be "foolish" about it and not notice that they are only shifting the numbers around on paper, and that's the part I don't care for. But that's what businesses do.
  7. I said you were condescending because you (1) told me I was wrong about the new plans having a higher price, even though I was right, (2) told me that it didn't matter anyway because of your opinion of the sustainability of Sprint's business model, and (3) called me foolish for my choice to stick with a cheaper plan that, in your opinion, may not allow me to upgrade anymore in the future, even though it would be cheaper for me to buy a new device outright and stick with the older plan that it would be for me to move to the new plan.
  8. Any recommendation on a better wired headset then?
  9. Does anyone know a way to get noise cancellation working with a wired headset? It works great on-device, but whenever I use a wired headset I get complaints about ample noise.
  10. I'm on the Everything Plus referral plans, so there is a small discount, but I'm comparing old EPRP to new EPRP, not EPRP to regular plans. I have two lines with smartphones and one line with a flip phone. The minimum bill under my current (old) Everything Plus Data 1600 plan is $95 + $14.99 + $14.99 for voice, text, and data, and $10 + $10 for required Premium Data, so my minimum bill is $144.98. Under the EP My Way plans (which are the only currently offered EPRP plan as of today), I would pay $50 + $40 + $30 for voice and text, and $20 + $20 for the required smartphone data plan, so my minimum bill would be $160, and the flip phone would lose all data access. Under the new Framily plan, if I understand it correctly, I would pay $45 + $45 + $45 for voice, text, and 1GB data, and $20 + $20 for my two smartphone lines to get unlimited data since they both go over 1GB per month on a regular basis, meaning my bill would be $175. This number is higher than both other options, AND I'm no longer getting a device subsidy. Now, Framily plans aren't offered under EPRP yet, so I can assume that if/when they are, this price will go down. But even if it goes down $30/month and becomes comparable to what I'm paying now, it still no longer includes a device subsidy. Now, enough about my discounted plans; let's say I don't have an employee account and I'm just the average consumer. Even if I was moving from the consumer Everything Data 1500 plan to the Framily plan, it would still be a worse deal. Under that plan, I would pay $110 + $19.99 + $19.99 for voice, text, and data, and $10 + $10 Premium Data, for a total of $169.98. Or if I was moving from the consumer My Way plan, I would be paying $50 + $40 + $30 for voice and text, and $30 + $30 for smartphone data, for a total of $180. So the Framily plan at $175 would be $5/month cheaper than the consumer My Way plan. But again, I lose the device subsidy, which is worth a lot more than $5/month. And I get what you're saying about the "unsustainable" business model, and if I as a consumer cared about that, I would still argue that they already raised prices there once by requiring Premium Data for all smartphones. So between My Way and Framily, this will be the third time in the last 5 years that they are raising prices on unlimited customers. But my concern about using this as an opportunity to opaquely raise prices is still valid, as I can see purely by the bottom line that my bill would increase under the new plan even if I started paying cash for every future device. Maybe if I had 10 lines on my account it would be a different story.
  11. Yes, really. My bill before taxes and subsidies surcharges is lower under my current plan than it would be under the My Way or Framily plans, even if I didn't have to also include the device payment for the next 23 months for the two devices I just bought. But thanks for the condescending comments.
  12. I'm not happy with it because they've used it as an opportunity to raise prices. I'll be sticking with my Everything Plus plan as long as I can.
  13. From servicetrender: Are you still having the issue?
  14. I have had consistently worse battery life since disabling ART and doing this, even with using the Greenify donate module to keep background tasks at bay.
  15. Basically, this. EVDO connection works fine, LTE connection is always terrible at this location. Sprint Care's resolution? No need to open a CTMS ticket, because the cell site is functioning at > 90% and I only used 2.5 voice minutes on it. I would be glad for 2mbps.
  16. Unless you're a "store" on eBay, they take 10 percent, and PayPal takes 2.9 percent plus a fixed fee regardless. So it's pretty normal for some items to cost a premium on eBay.
  17. This is a cell site issue. Call Sprint Care and have them pinpoint your location. I've had to do this several times in the past as specific towers are upgraded.
  18. It was a corporate store. Like I said, I don't think much of the knowledge of store sales staff.
  19. I'm on an Everything Plus Referral Plan, so I have to go through a little extra trouble than most people to keep my plan when upgrading. Recently I tried to upgrade in-store to a Nexus 5, but I was told the store system would flat out not allow them to activate the device without changing to a My Way plan. Customer Care informed me that as long as I purchase the device online, I shouldn't have any trouble keeping my plan. I went home and ordered the device online, and everything went smoothly. When I got to the shipping screen, there was an option to pick up the device in-store and still pay online, so I went ahead and selected that and paid. When I arrived at the store to pick up the device, they wouldn't release it to me (even though I paid online already) without going through the activation process in-store, which of course was going to change my plan again. I left the store and called Care again (technically Employee Accounts since that is how your account type is set for EPRP plans) and explained the situation. The rep understood exactly what the issue was, explained to me the process, and promised me that even though the store rep must change your plan to activate the device in their system, National Sales Support can change it back immediately afterward. The phone rep said I could either have the store rep make the call while I was in the store, or I could just call Care again afterward and they would take care of it. Knowing how clueless store employees can be, I asked the phone rep to arrange a callback with me in an hour. I explained to the store rep to go ahead and change my plan to whatever and that I would have it changed back afterward. Not long after I left the store with the phone, the Care rep called me back and straightened out my plan. All 3 of my lines remain now on an Everything Plus family plan. Your mileage may vary, but I would recommend for everyone to call Care before upgrading in-person to see if they can do the same thing for you. My understanding is that as long as you upgrade through Sprint.com or Telesales, you won't have any trouble keeping your existing plan. It's only in-person upgrades that have issues with keeping your plan.
  20. Works great on my Nexus 5 using the instructions I posted above.
  21. Is there any correlation between eHRPD and a site being 3G accepted?
