  2. You can call Care and have them re-provision Voicemail on your account, or you could activate Google Voice (and de-activate it again if you don't want it). Make sure you listen to any important voicemail first, as they will be deleted either way.
  3. Did your previous device have Sprint Visual Voicemail provisioned? It sends texts from that number to notify the app you have voicemail.
  4. I would think that the only devices to possibly receive a VoLTE update would be the ones that received Wi-Fi calling. I think all of those would support a small carrier. I don't know how they're going to QoS it properly otherwise. I've seen a lot of sites where the air link itself is over capacity and the tower can't do anything about it.
  5. I would hope they would at least throw up a 1.4 MHz LTE carrier to be used exclusively for VoLTE. The tower could push you onto it when a call comes in. They could do that today and kill a voice carrier if they had devices to support it.
  6. Article mentioned Sprint losing spectrum. Anyone know what spectrum that was?
  7. That's likely the 4.4.3 update which fixes the camera bug. A bit of Googling shows that build number has, in fact, been popping up in people's web statistics lately. I don't see any reason it couldn't also contain a radio update. EDIT: I bet March 10 was the date it went into testing.
  8. This is due to a configuration error on your local cell site. Call Sprint Care and have them pinpoint the affected area.
  9. I don't think that would be made into a consumer LTE network. It's for public safety and machine-to-machine.
  10. To add, I can confirm the entire state of Louisiana is being routed through Atlanta right now, so it would make sense for that poster to experience the problem.
  11. That's great, and I'm happy for you, but as I said previously, latency is notably worse right now in areas which are receiving MSC upgrades. Latency above 100 ms is normal all over Louisiana right now since our normal MSC is offline.
  12. I've been able to handoff just fine between 1x 1900 and testing 1x 800 once the towers in my area started broadcasting correct neighbor sets. EDIT: It's a normal hard handoff going between frequency bands just like it is when going between frequencies in the same band.
  13. Sprint has consolidated certain markets down to share MSCs so that they can upgrade some of the other MSCs. This is causing increased latency and backend capacity issues all over the place.
  14. I agree, look how quickly they reached 209 million POPs with LTE.
  15. I have found that doing a profile update on my Nexus 5 turns LTE back on.
  16. The G2 is a tri-band device. It prefers to connect only to LTE and to get its CDMA1x packets through CSFB. You will see battery drain when connected to an Airave because it is still searching for LTE. Try disabling LTE altogether.
  17. Update: The ticket regarding this issue is now attached to 50+ markets. Unfortunately it's tagged as a Samsung market issue.
  18. My understanding from the SignalCheck developer is that the Nexus 5 sometimes incorrectly displays roaming when connected to a voice call over 1x 800. It is not likely to my knowledge that your device would be able to get tunneled roaming packets through the Sprint LTE connection to know when a call is incoming.
  19. I believe that the person you were responding to was not suggesting that WCDMA fallback is a good excuse to not build out an LTE network, but rather stating that having only an EV-DO fallback gives Sprint and Verizon a greater sense of urgency to complete their LTE networks in comparison to other carriers. There is a subtle distinction between the two, and I do not think it is fair to call someone out for possibly being a "fanboy" just because he brought up a rational explanation for the topic at hand.
  20. I'm assuming that they might kill leases on towers that are redundant to PCS spacing, then acquire new leases on rooftops and within buildings and on utility poles and deploy small cells.
  21. Today I learned that EV-DO running at 2+ Mbps is comparable to HSPA+. EDIT: Never mind, I understand you were referring specifically to UMTS.
  22. It is absolutely coming; in fact, it works today. The Android Hangouts app doesn't have an interface to initiate the calls today, but if you initiate a call with Hangouts for Chrome (incoming or outgoing), and then open the Hangouts app while the call is ongoing, you can see the call and tap the video icon to join it on your phone. Then you can leave the call on your computer and carry on. EDIT: Album
  23. Thanks for this, I called Care today and referenced that ticket number. They said the issue has also been reported in the Chicago market, and I let them know I've seen it in the East Texas and Louisiana markets and that Google Voice is not the cause. They opened additional tickets.
