  1. Just because 700 isn't available to them nationwide doesn't mean it's not smart to purchase and deploy it where they can. The markets it is available will benefit greatly with the low band spectrum when it's up and running. B26 makes all the difference for Sprint, just as B12 will help T-Mobile where they can get it deployed. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  2. I don't know the answer, but I don't see why that would matter. As far as credit goes, I know it effects if you need to have a deposit or spending limit, the number of lines you can have and if you need a down payment on easy pay but I doubt it has anything to do with contract vs non contract. Especially since the new plans don't come with a subsidy. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  3. I see what you're saying, but artificially limiting speed isn't necessarily going to free up congestion. The only point I see in having speed tiers is to price your product differently as many home ISPs do. Completing a data request and getting the user back to idling is going to be better to clear up congestion. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  4. It will just eat up one of your available lines on your account.
  5. Why would you need to stream UHD content to a phone? That's ridiculous as is adding speed caps. The network will manage itself, by capping speeds you lose out on efficiency if the network has available capacity that isn't being used.
  6. Yes, it only takes a few minutes over the phone. You may even be able to do it over chat support, I haven't tried it that way though.
  7. Have your ONT provisioned for ethernet, and you can bypass that router completely.
  8. If you have FiOS tv service, the verizon provided router is required to be on the moca network with the set top boxes for several features such as on demand and the on screen guide to work.
  9. That's how my first call went. After a few days I noticed I hadn't received any email confirmation for order or tracking so I called back to find out why. After being placed on hold for about five minutes they came back and told me about only being allowed one or the other and the order got auto denied after it was placed and approved by the supervisor. I called back a couple other times and have been told the same thing, router or airave but not both.
  10. The 12v power supply on my Airave 2.5 died and I called in to see if I could get a replacement adapter. Instead they ordered me a replacement Airave 2.5+. The new unit looks the same, but it has some improvements over the 2.5 model. It acquires a GPS and network lock much faster (within a minute or so of first being powered up) and more importantly runs a lot cooler. The 2.5+ uses the same 2A power supply but it's either more power efficient or just has a better heatsink.
  11. For those of you that have an Airave and had a WiFi Connect ordered, have you actually received them? When my replacement Airave 2.5+ came I had to call in to have the square footage increased on the new unit and was again told that it is one or the other on the account. It did not matter that I would be using them in two different locations. Mine was originally ordered but got auto denied by the system after the order was created and approved by the supervisor. I'm wondering what is making it so some accounts are able to have both and others aren't. I was told the non return fee of the router was $85 and is usually higher than the purchase price when it becomes available. I don't mind paying for the device, but they still wouldn't let me order it saying the system says order information coming soon.
  12. I was told its based off the account. I may try to purchase my Airave and then see if I can get the router. My ISP provided router is already better in every way except for the WiFi calling qos stuff which is the only reason I was interested in it. I suspect a lot of people are calling about it because they want a free router, not because they actually need it. I have one phone other than my nexus 5 that doesn't support WiFi calling, I may just upgrade that and send back the airave for the router. I can deal with using hangouts VoIP, but I don't want my family having issues. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  13. I noticed I hadn't gotten email for the WiFi Connect. I called support back and was told the router got declined because I had an Airave, and the offer was one or the other but not both. Looks like until Android gets native Sprint WiFi calling built in I won't be able to get one of these. I was also told that I was not even able to purchase one.
  14. I90 has a lot of gaps with no LTE, I don't think it was necessarily your phone having a problem. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  15. Sounds pretty similar to what I went through when I first got my Airave a while back.
  16. Why does this need a separate thread? Go exchange the phone if you aren't happy with the condition or wipe it down and activate it. Who knows what could have happened, I would just activate it if it isn't damaged. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  17. That sucks, I did get transferred around a few times before I ended up at Airave support. I wonder if already having an Airave on my account helped in getting the router ordered.
  18. I don't have a direct number. I called customer service and told them I was having problems with my Airave and they transferred me directly. You could try the Airave support team. Call customer service and ask about the Airave for in home coverage and you'll get transferred. The Airave support team isn't something you would normally get transferred to unless you ask about it specifically.
  19. I got one ordered tonight. I initially called Airave support because the power supply on my unit died and was trying to get it replaced. After setting up an order for a replacement Airave I asked them about the WiFi Connect and they did mention that I had an offer on my account for a free WiFi connect. I was told I needed to have at least one WiFi calling device on my account and because I was already using an Airave for in home coverage I qualified. I was told I should receive it in 2-3 days. It makes sense the Airave team would be sending them out and not sales since it is to boost in home coverage.
  20. Are you fully integrated with Google Voice? Sprint HD calling and Google Voice are not compatible. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  21. Sprint equipment, especially with b41 up on the same rack is pretty obvious when you see it. I don't know if Albany is in a different license area than Syracuse but I highly doubt its related to spectrum availability. Some markets will just be later, unfortunately. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  22. I don't recall seeing any information about b41 deployment in Albany. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/5183-how-to-spot-sprint-8t8r-td-lte-rrhs-alcatel-lucent/ is a good thread with pictures of the equipment though. Do you see any up on the racks? It's pretty obvious next to the NV panels, Syracuse had equipment installed for a bit before any of it was available to use.
  23. It's likely the radio performance of one device is better than the other. LTE already is a priority over CDMA, putting that tab4 in LTE only mode is probably going to result in no service at all if all you are getting is roaming on it.
