  5. They only issue is many will have to wait months for it or never get it at all, thus they will still be suffering as SCP currently stands. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  6. Or data centric mode. Could also be a question of backhaul. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  7. It has been in the release for a month or so. I have tried testing it on a CA device, but no luck so far. I think they are expanding it on a carrier by carrier basis.
  8. Big news for the Clearwire market transition to CA from Dayton OH by nowerlater: First the EARFCN was moved after the Dayton Expedience network was shutdown with Cincinnati WiMAX (who even knew Expedience was still alive until the Mobile Citizen court order listing places like Anchorage and Duluth, MN). Now on Thursday the first CA site came alive (a new B41 site). http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/6200-cincinnati-market-mapspreadsheet-premier-edition/page-40&do=findComment&comment=471522
  9. Airaves emit a beep when you make calls. Perhaps a neighbor had one. They can cover a 1/2 mile radius or more when there is no other signal. I had one in operation that covered most of a college campus while the cell tower was down for NV upgrade.
  10. I would not expect any news coverage. This could be very similar to WiMAX protection sites from years ago. Only some were shown on coverage maps. A few could only be detected with spectrum analyzers. They were very low priority once installed. My guess is that setting up these sites is taking money away from more noticeable expansion, at least until there is more CAPex funding. My hope of course is that they do put them on the coverage maps.
  11. Don't forget, it is really BEAs not states. Here is the map from the first post: http://wireless.fcc.gov/auctions/data/maps/ea.pdf
  12. From Columbus, OH: WiMAX is Dead in Columbus. Make way for CAx3 soon!!!

  15. In Marquette and a number of other spots in the UP they seem to have a deal with Cellcom for 3G and more. You can see it on the coverage maps by clicking the 3G and more option.
  16. Leather backs with wireless charging kill your reception. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  17. Correct. The WiMAX was scheduled to be turned off several months ago, but kept running by court order until the end of the month. Only then can Sprint start to convert many Clear sites in this market to Sprint B41 and add third carrier to the many B41 Sprint sites. This should be part of the Next Generation Network upgrades that will hopefully begin soon. Other upgrades are still continuing in this market including Bexley. There are articles on all of this and Columbus located http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1-the-wall/ To get more specific information on Bexley and other places make a $10-20 donation depending on your circumstances to help keep this website operational. You will then have a wealth of information on B25 LTE (including high capacity sites, 10x10 LTE, and B25 second carrier) and 1x800 along with 3G. B41 and B26 LTE information is in the next tier (Premier).
  18. No new likely sites spotted in microwave search for Sprint in American Somoa, or Wyoming under the name Sprint, nor any recent using Sprint's address (UbiquiTel Leasing Company, etc) Now Anchorage, AK is quite different: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1120-comments-related-to-nv-sites-complete-site-acceptance-update-threads/page-582&do=findComment&comment=469541
  19. There are some quirks, but I have seen it work on one of my phones. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  20. Interesting numbers. Thanks. Does HD Voice show up on the G4 when using WiFi calling? Airave might be easier in the sense that if WiFi is also enabled the phone calls and data use will be separate. I still would set the QOS in your Nighthawk enable WMM (Wi-Fi multimedia (5 GHz a/n/ac) from what you have shown above. Details here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/R8500/R8500_UM_30sep2015.pdf on pages 105-106, else try the Dynamic QOS starting on page 101. This way when either the upload or download is fully saturated the phone calls should still be possible.
  21. Hopefully the first of many such deals. How do these rank by number of counties affected?
  22. It would be great to see your the real world data comparing Airave to WiFi calling. Some of the difference may also be how your equipment is connected/configured. Sprint normally wants the Airave first, which gives it high priority. Most people also setup any VOIP also with high priority. It is also great to see the amount of bandwidth consumed. It used to be that very high quality voice took 64Kbps. I am uncertain what HD voice takes. The odds are everyone will learn something from your comparison. Looking forward to your info.
  23. I looked at microwave licenses under Sprint for North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana. I found nothing that relates to this topic, but I did find some likely sites for the Fargo ND market that were unknown to us: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1120-comments-related-to-nv-sites-complete-site-acceptance-update-threads/page-581&do=findComment&comment=468933
  24. There is a confident requirement for the site info. We could not have them crowd sourced. But it would be great to allow them to be loaded to be displayed along with the GCI and on local maps. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  25. I was wondering if you checked the WiMAX Substantial Service Site on East Philadelphia Street (near the Popeye's Chicken) in Rapid City. In the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, those were taken over by Cellcom for Roaming+. If true that might give you a better idea of were to look elsewhere, since those sites may have long term leases.
