  2. Results from one of the new Clear converted sites, which are now being done at a rapid pace: Sent from my SM-N930P using Tapatalk
  3. Your answers are in the premier sponsor thread.
  4. Columbus is now fully proceeding with maintenance upgrades for the Clear sites that will double their signal capacity. Work should be finished by 12/31 or sooner.
  5. Just bought a note 7 upgrade today on my 1500 2 year plan. I was told that starting today I could only get it online from a very knowledgeable rep who has worked with me before. The online store did not show the two year options for me, but he was able to get it to work. I will go back and buy my accessories from him, which I believe is the bulk of their commissions. The new plans are great for video watchers, but I use mostly data, including roaming which is 300mb on my plan.
  6. You should be watching out for these: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/3060-signalcheck-android-app-to-monitor-your-2g3g4g-lte-signal-strengths/page-201&do=findComment&comment=486282 We feel your pain. 1x800 will likely come first, which will dramatically reduce dropped calls and no signal. Watch for the channel when it does arrive. B26 LTE 800 can be more problematic. Here is an issue you likely did not consider: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/4825-columbus-market-mapspreadsheet-premier-edition/page-108&do=findComment&comment=485622 Eventually B26 LTE 800 should come, but it may require the patience of Job.
  7. Mike, we have discovered a new type of Sprint site which is only being identified as LTE in SCP. These new sites are Clear Conversion sites operating on B41 yet have the standard market three character prefix. This is then followed by a 9 or an A in the dozens of cases that we have confirmed in Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland, and Sacramento. The easiest way to identify them is likely by the GCI sectors, 31, 32, 33 for first carrier, 39, 3A, 3B for second carrier These sites actually have 3 "Nokia mini macros*" rather than RRHs, thus they have 3 unique site GCI, which have always been sequential so far. PCIs remain the same as the Clear Huawei sites they are replacing. The PLMN is pure Sprint rather than Clear or Clearwire. We understand from various Sprint contacts that these sites need to be replaced by the end of the year as part of the original Softbank buyout of Sprint. For more detailed information, start here for Columbus: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/4825-columbus-market-mapspreadsheet-premier-edition/page-108#entry485655 and here for Cincinnati: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/6200-cincinnati-market-mapspreadsheet-premier-edition/page-44&do=findComment&comment=485752 This will likely affect the following markets which have Huawei*: Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, Denver, (Northern) Los Angeles, Merced, Modesto, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Francisco - San Jose Bay Area, Seattle, Stockton, Visalia-Tulare-Porterville *credit lilotimz
  8. The bigger part of this Reddit thread is the rumored plan consolidation, which you can say already began with SERO last week. Having a huge number of plans increases sales training costs and affects customer relations (because no sales person can remember them all). Of course getting to fewer plans could cause even more problems. T-Mobile has already been down this path. Of course we will all try to hang on to our better plans, as we each define them given our own needs and circumstances, for as long as we can. Besides the consistent payments with access to a new phone every two years without drama, the 300MB of roaming per month is also a draw. Once these plans disappear, the 100MB of roaming in the current plans may move from a soft cap to a hard cap IMO. It would be nice if Sprint would see the light and at least offer additional roaming of some sort of cost plus basis, ie the most expensive roaming plus 20% in 100MB increments for example. Once these plans move to telesales and online only, it will be quite easy for them to quietly disappear.
  9. Wonder when they will fix the WiFi calling so it also handles texts.
  10. You would want to know when it was made. Must be later than a special date last fall or don't bother.
  11. I would like to see photos of the small cell and RSRP taken right next to it. Thanks!!
  12. License status remains the same. For amateurs there is a two year grace period to renew. Based on a spot check, it looks like this process takes 6 weeks to 6 months in commercial spectrum. I did not see any that were denied, but no guarantees.
  13. More B41 carriers is occurring now at existing 8t8r sites. From a customer standpoint LTE has almost become a requirement. Historically Sprint waited until tower mounted radios were installed to turn on LTE. These provide much better signal, mimo, etc. With the use of combiners, LTE can be added to sites with ground mounted radios with far less capital with reduced but still good coverage. These sites can support 10x10 LTE. We have not confirmed any in Ohio with second carrier, including one surrounded by second carrier sites.
  14. Sprint has definitely been going after the low hanging fruit of more LTE b41 carriers and more 25 LTE carrier bandwidth for a while. This will likely continue given CFO comments. They also have been adding LTE to ground mounted sites. I expect all of this to continue. Small cells are a greater unknown at this point, especially their timing. Sprint wants to have a profitable year for the first time in many years. The concept is this will help drive down interest costs.
  15. Any word on text messaging being added to wifi calling? Sprint previously promised by the end of 2016. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  16. If made sometime before early fall, could be covered by a special warranty for boot loop issues. Take to Sprint repair center. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  17. The "regular" version of the iPhone 6S Plus does support CA. Chillicothe does have some CA. If you can receive Band 41 outside of the traditional Columbus metro, it has carrier aggregation. This might be a firmware issue. Try asking here: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/7164-iphone-6s6s-plus-user-thread/
  18. It was tested and implemented only for LTE. Otherwise checking for EARFCN and channel changes is a rare occurrence. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  19. If we could get modem data on cdma channels in SCP that would be great (two big ifs). Then we could have a much better idea of what is actually happening. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  20. I believe it is more planned based on what we have seen in Columbus. 1) sites without B41 seem to have a higher likelihood, same with heavily used sites. 2) I believe they have basically setup two networks, a 5x5 and a 10x10, possible due to CDMA channel requirements of some older phones. Based on careful observations, when you start with a 5x5 network , it is inclined to keep you on 5x5, when you are on 10x10, it is inclined to keep you on 10x10. Given the number of 10x10 sites observed, Pittsburgh has likely had them for a while. This situation is likely temporary. Notices have been sent out on how to update PRLs on old phones by re-provisioning as well as reports of forced PRL and data profile updates. Analysis of the latest PRLs indicate changes in CDMA channels.
  21. Finding more 10x10 on western side Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  22. Just like CA, the best aspect of 10x10 is better speeds at the edge. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  23. I am on the west side of Pittsburgh metro for a few days. Might have some time to look around for this. No b41 3rd channel observed so far. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  24. Yes, plus you have a number with 10x10 or b25 second carrier. It is really done a county by county basis. Obviously you want a sizable group of counties with enough contiguous bandwidth. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  25. 58978 is an invalid value. Documented here: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/5454-network-vision-and-spark-earfcn-logging-thread/&do=findComment&comment=275929
