  1. Received data for about an 80 mile stretch of I-90 around Missoula, Montana from one of my spotters. Contains sectors 2 and 3 of CDMA and 01 and 02 of LTE. Spot1 also had null GCI feature of SCP enabled, so I plotted those as well (small dots) to give us and idea of possible LTE coverage. All data is presented, https://fusiontables.google.com/data?docid=14K466O45MC0JN7hJnpBHmM31kZTEfEtdsc3ML6z4#map:id=3
  2. Just lovely travelling with these. Banned except when off and not charging by the FAA. Sent from my SM-N930P2 using Tapatalk
  3. Sprint previously took accessories back if you bought them from Sprint. Sent from my SM-N930P2 using Tapatalk
  4. Title for this thread should now be "Samsung Galaxy Note 7 - R.I.P." Sent from my SM-N930P2 using Tapatalk
  5. I will be going back to keeping a giant glass of water on my desk to immerse the Note 7 to stop a thermal cascade until this is sorted out. Sent from my SM-N930P2 using Tapatalk
  6. My is also approved. My receipt from Sprint was an exchange slip. My prior one was from the online account info. Sent from my SM-N930P using Tapatalk
  7. I think the real issue is when real markets are used rather than virtual (just the first three lettets of the gci). On going maintenance for SCP would also be great! Sent from my SM-N930P using Tapatalk
  8. Columbus is that way either because it is a 10x10 carrier or because it is the second 2nd carrier in the same market. Central IL is the same way. Sent from my SM-N930P using Tapatalk
  9. This might interest you guys: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/4825-columbus-market-mapspreadsheet-premier-edition/page-114&do=findComment&comment=489896 (premier link)
  10. http://www.cpsc.gov/en/Recalls/2016/Samsung-Recalls-Galaxy-Note7-Smartphones/#remedy obviously decided not to go this route in the US, at least not initially: http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/news/2016/09/14/report-samsung-could-limit-note-7-battery-charging/90349108/ ultimately go to this http://newsroom.sprint.com/news-releases/samsung-galaxy-note-7-update.htm
  11. The word is Costco still does until around the end of the year. Not verified so report back. Best Buy also ending this month: https://www.reddit.com/r/Sprint/comments/52m56e/according_to_a_post_at_rbestbuy_you_can_no_longer/
  12. You should have stopped at "Sprint has never reported their profitability by service plan." So many factors. Even more so if you go down to the individual or location level. A lot depends on how you allocate your overhead costs.
  13. Note 7 versus v20 with added focus on signal: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1IxqRLUGCEypb0uvQebVGS1ktuQNpr_WWAhwDGBcWTPw/edit?usp=sharing Basically the Note 7 should be the better B41 phone while the v20 should be better with B25. Of course nothing beats real world testing.
  14. I think they will be very careful on manufacturing quality. The bigger issue is damage to the brand and note product line. I still think it should be easily visible to anyone that it is a "fixed" product and a careful relaunch will be required. Sent from my SM-N930P using Tapatalk
  15. If you can't quickly prove that it is not a note 7 with battery issues, it may not be worth owning. Thinking of airport security, friends, etc. Sent from my SM-N930P using Tapatalk
  16. My hope is that any replacement Note 7s are labeled differently: Note 7a, Note 7.2 are just two of many possible choices. Otherwise you might always be treated like a bombing suspect if you carry a Note 7.
  17. https://ecfsapi.fcc.gov/file/1090269256629/800%20MHz%20Monthly%20Report%20September%202016.pdf (you can see the maps) expanded 1x800 is likely next, with channel 476 in the south and an unknown channel in the north (northern Ohio is 1x800 channel 526).
  18. My v20 notes: http://m.androidcentral.com/lg-v20-liveblog-join-us-san-francisco-9pm-et-sept-6 Like Note7 but with removeable battery Devil is in the details. Will it do non contiguous CA like Note 7? now, how to figure that out. Perhaps Sprint and Verizon will have the same model and I can seen if it will handle all their CA options. I am thinking about the possibility that Sprint may offer CA on Band 25 in the next couple of years (future, not present). Last slide for the v20 says up to 600Mbps LTE cat 12 w 3x CA. Likely that means more than Sprint. (note 7 should be able to do the same). http://m.androidcentral.com/first-comparison-lg-v20-vs-galaxy-note-7 Other items I would add is the v20 is built to survive more drops with MIL-STD 810G rating in theory plus you can protect the edges with a case. Battery info should be ignored until we have actual battery life tests.Note 7 is thinner and shorter. The note 7 screen is likely brighter in daylight http://www.androidauthority.com/lg-v20-drop-test-714756/ v20 - shake free video v20 - no app drawer - vulkan api might support usb 3.0, but does not ship with that cable " While the effectiveness of Nougat's enhanced Doze mode remains to be seen, this phone could last for some time. LG stated that the V20 will last 20% longer than the V10, so our expectations are high. It's also equipped with QuickCharge 3.0 support, a technology that resurrects phones from the dead in a matter of minutes. We'll provide in depth findings on battery drain and charge rates in our full review." - not modular like G5 http://www.phonearena.com/news/LG-V20-a-UI-walkthrough-of-the-first-heavily-skinned-Android-Nougat-phone_id85005 v20 might be missing knock feature ( two taps on screen to bring it out of power saving etc). release estimated to be in late September
  19. Recommend relabeling thread to include v20 else many will not find it (unsearchable).
  20. You might have to upgrade on line or via telesales. Sent from my SM-N930P using Tapatalk
  21. The smart choice is to get rid of the Note 7 as soon as it is feasible. Meanwhile, don't charge while you are sleeping. Using a standard charger may reduce your risks. If your phone gets warm while charging, you should get it exchanged or return it ASAP.
  22. Received and installed update. You must use WiFi to download it although that is not stated. No evidence of 3xCA in engineering or data | LTE screens. No change with profile or PRL update. Issue with misidentifying plmn of Clearwire sites as 311940 to software remains. Engineering screen says 311490 as it should. Wifi Calling works, but I was unable to get texting to work after airplaning phone then turning on WiFi. No luck with Textra SMS either altough others may have had some success but where likely getting some 3g. Hangouts does work as alternative. Do not disturb has been removed from the pull down screen to make room for WiFi Calling.

  24. It's on CNN Money. 24 in every million. Will take at least two weeks. better article: http://www.theverge.com/2016/9/2/12767670/samsung-galaxy-note-7-recall-fire-risk http://gizmodo.com/samsung-confirms-note-7-recall-after-35-reports-of-dang-1786088827 Yup, epic fail. This is one of the primary reasons manufacturers moved away from replaceable batteries was to control quality What really went up in smoke is the resale value. Battery life has been quite good. But will likely need to take precautions while charging. "Samsung concluded that the faulty batteries are to blame for the explosions. Samsung SDI is the group within Samsung that makes batteries for the Galaxy Note 7. That is, Samsung SDI produces the battery cell, but the battery pack production is outsourced to other firms. Korean ITM Semiconductor produces the battery pack for the Galaxy Note 7’s that are sold in Korea. ITM’s batteries seem to have been the ones that exploded. Meanwhile, most phones sold in China are going to have battery packs from Chinese company Amperex Technology. The Herald says that Samsung plans to go forward with the September 1st and September 2nd Galaxy Note 7 launches in China and Europe, respectively." source: http://bgr.com/2016/09/01/galaxy-note-7-recall-is-on-the-table-following-battery-explosions/ battery is easily accessible, but glued in place with a soft glue. It says replacement of the battery is very difficult. Best comment I have seen: " I guess if they had made the phone with replaceable batteries this would not have been such a big deal.....went to the lg G5 and haven’t looked back..."
  25. Perhaps 3xCA? Sent from my SM-N930P using Tapatalk
