  1. Tested it next to a small cell. Airplane mode did not work, but then I checked it a minute or two later and it was on the small cell. Regular b41 was -106db, the small cell was -70db.

  2. :tu: Thanks very much.  Works on screen with LG V20 showing earfcn on unrooted phone.  I had heard that neighbors could also show earfcn, which would help a lot in Samsung markets.  Any other cool features mentioned like number of TX? At least a date stamp would also help in the logs.  Thanks!!

  3. Signalcheck isn't recognizing an NSN mini macro site, is this a known issue?

It seems they are using different GCI pattern.

The list is much longer. Add b25 2nd carrier 10x10, air harmony 4000s and 1000s, in store b41. Android 7.0 has support for identifying this built in via earfcns for sites and neighbors unrooted, but tricky to program. Others want $$. SCP is our best hope.

  4. Status update for Columbus: Band 26 LTE 800 now covers all on Columbus inside the beltway and most of the areas north of Columbus that are not GMO. Speaking of GMOs, most now have LTE in our market. Neither of these are fully reflected on Sprint's coverage map.

Band 26 LTE 800 offers better in building coverage and often greater range.

  5. Should be sprint but if there is no GCI with the site then we can't be sure. And better pictures would be nice but I am not sure it is an air harmony I don't see the iBridge and this thread is about airspan products.

So better pic and a SCP would be the thing to prove it.

Some phones are not able to see small cells unless they are airplane moded, specifically the LG G2 and LG V20.

  6. Better than nothing, I guess.

These may not turnout to be the GMOs of yesteryear. Mini Macros dramatically change the cost and weight/wind calculations for B41 and B26 equipment.  Hopefully we will see some soon on these GMOs just like the Clear conversions and now network vision sites in Columbus.

  7. Hopefully that means the "Southern" VA market and maybe the pitifully slow to upgrade "Western" PA market. I use quotes because the descriptions really aren't completely accurate.

Actually Western PA has been getting lots of LTE upgrades lately. Why Sprint does not show them on the coverage map is another story.

  8. Here CDMA is still very wide spread....And I do have Sprint Ting as a back up for when I go into Philadelphia where Verizon is semi spotty and also I have Verizon roaming on Ting...It works just fine

It could be Sprint that has eliminated some of the Verizon roaming. The next time you have roaming on Ting but not Sprint, go into debug If possible), then EVDO engineering and make a note of what channel is being used. This site will allow you to convert it to frequency: http://niviuk.free.fr/cdma_band.php Also note the some carriers are now using LTE in the same frequencies as their 3G (T-Mobile in NYC - not VoLTE which is a different matter).

Overall, usage of CDMA even on the Sprint network has dropped dramatically, based on logs I see.

  9. I've noticed at the B41 sites that have come online around my area, that none have CA enabled. Anybody know why? It seems odd that they all have two carriers running, just no CA. My understanding is that it basically just has to get switched on. Is there a reason Shentel would hold off doing this?

What are the earfcn? In some of Shentel, there are wireless internet providers occupying the prime BRS spectrum. EDS is harder to coordinate contiguous spectrum.
