  1. The see Dish as the Beta network for a while. Basically once they have secured their licenses and have inexpensive phones that utilize all their bands I hope to see them reduce the edge space of their network or improve the transfer performance so customers have more of an invisible handoff experience. This will likely be late 2023.
  2. The key wording here is "phased approach". Not certain the airlines really need this exemption given the thousands of flights canceled during holiday weekends are primarily from staffing shortages. Doubtful that grounding planes with outdated GPS systems would change this.
  3. https://www.fiercewireless.com/wireless/dish-loses-its-appeal-related-34b-bidding-credits-spectrum almost real money
  4. Only way to go with most other carriers for band selection.
  5. Dish is now claiming that their 5g is live in the following cities: Albuquerque, NM Altoona, IA Ann Arbor, MI Asheville, NC Bay City, MI Bellevue, NE Bentonville, AR Binghamton, NY Boise, ID Bowling Green, KY Bristol, TN Brooksville, FL Brownsville, TX Carson City, NV Cary, NC Casper, WY Champaign, IL Charlotte, NC Chattanooga, TN Chester, VA Cheyenne, WY Chicopee, MA Chippewa Falls, WI Clarksville, TN Cleveland, OH Cocoa Beach, FL Columbus, OH Concord, NC Corpus Christi, TX Dallas, TX Davenport, IA Daytona Beach, FL Denton, TX Des Moines, IA Duluth, MN Eagle, ID Eau Claire, WI Elmira, NY El Paso, TX Evansville, IN Fayetteville, AR Flagstaff, AZ Flint, MI Fond du Lac, WI Fort Smith, AR Fresno, CA Ft Worth, TX Gadsden, AL Grand Junction, CO Greensboro, NC Gulfport, MS Harrisonburg, VA Hartford, CT Hattiesburg, MS Henderson, NV Hendersonville, TN High Point, NC Hot Springs, AR Houston, TX Huntsville, AL Indianapolis, IN Ithaca, NY Jackson, MI Jackson, MS Kansas City, KS Johnson City, TN Johnstown, PA Kingsport, TN Knoxville, TN Lansing, MI Las Vegas, NV Lawton, OK Lexington, KY Lincoln, NE Little Rock, AR Louisville, KY McAllen,TX Mechanicsville, VA Merced, CA Meridian, ID Middletown, CT Midland, MI Midlothian, VA Modesto, CA Murfreesboro, TN Nashville, TN New Braunfels, TX Norfolk, VA Ocala, FL Ogden, UT Oklahoma City, OK Omaha, NE Orlando, FL Ozark, MO Palm Bay, FL Petersburg, VA Pine Bluff, AR Prescott, AZ Provo, UT Pueblo, CO Raleigh-Durham, NC Rapid City, SD Reno, NV Richmond, VA Rochester, MN Rochester, NY Saginaw, MI Salt Lake City, UT San Marcos, TX Sioux Falls, SD Sparks, NV Spokane, WA Springfield, IL Springfield, MA Springfield, MO St Joseph, MO Staunton, VA St. Louis, MO Stockton, CA Suffolk, VA Superior, WI Syracuse, NY Texas City, TX Tulsa, OK Tuscaloosa, AL Urbandale, IA Utica, NY Valdosta, GA Victoria, TX Virginia Beach, VA Watertown, NY Waynesboro, VA Wildwood, FL Williamsburg, VA Winter Garden, FL Yuma, AZ Source: https://launch.5gmobilegenesis.com/cities/ They specifically say it is live in my area. My phone sees 8 plmns, but not theirs. My guess is protection sites.
  6. Great to know. More likely to get fixed when issues also appears in the latest flagship.
  7. Any thoughts for MarshieZ in 2022? @ingenium may also have ideas. Of course there are also the T-Mobile and Verizon internet offerings, but those are likely higher cost and lower priority. Starlink is a lower tier of service based on my testing. Unless one lives on a farm or in the Great Plains, trees (quite common in the north woods of Wisconsin) can be a major impediment to continous service (chainsaws should be sold as option equipment, although Musk would likely prefer you buy his flamethrower https ://youtu.be/qLcma0YyzhY )
  8. They are only licensed in major metro iirc. I would look for it in one with unmet demand which would likely have limited n41 spectrum. San Francisco might fit the bill.
  9. My MVNOs now do support this, but you diffinately want to test this in advance. Model coverage is not as extensive. Sometimes changes to APN settings will fix issues.
  10. I tested for this (n25 and n71 VoNR) on my s21 ultra factory unlocked without success, however T-Mobile firmware may be needed for the VoNR along with a good location.
  11. This was a Verizon update: Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G (SM-G998U1) Build Number : G998U1UEU5CVE8 Android version : S(Android 12) Release Date : 2022-05-27 Security patch level : 2022-05-01 · Device stability improvements, bug fixes. · New and / or enhanced features. · Further improvements to performance.
  12. This does not fix the n7 showing instead of n41 issue. During the update, T-Mobile appears several times. Updates may be becoming more carrier specific. My factory unlocked A32 5G remains on Android 11 with January 1 security fixes.
  13. Galaxy A32 5G (SM-A326U) Build Number : A326USQU7BVE5 Android version : S(Android 12) Release Date : 2022-05-31 Security patch level : 2022-04-01 · The security of your device has been improved.
  14. "The Un-carrier plans to expand VoNR to many more areas this year." This is the part that I took as a challenge. We all know that it will need some testing in all areas first before it is publicly announced. However I may also be hindered by my equipment.
  15. I could not get it to work on my s21 ultra factory unlocked using tello or boost t-mobile*. But I also can not get band selection to lock on to nr71 either, but can with my Samsung a32 5g on T-Mobile. * I am a Sprint second class citizen on T-Mobile stuck with the old biller for eternity (so it seems).
  16. Sprint CDMA is gone from Columbus OH. Like Magic Box, the base signal still exists but the devices no longer connect. Roaming on Verizon is still supported according to UPdownLoAD.
  17. To be more clear I should have stated I have the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra factory unlocked 512GB version for North America with its firmware.
  18. Sometimes the tower management firm wants the old equipment left in place. Reportedly makes it easier to get future tenants through zoning approval (upgrade rather than new). Sometimes the mounts are reused. This is at least what several managers of Crown Castle and American Tower have told me. I have a naked monopole tower near me. It is a strange sight.
  19. Likely true, but then various carrier's 3g shutdowns were supposed to occur since 2019. AT&T was still alive when I last checked a few weeks ago. The real benefit for T-Mobile occurs when they shut down the Sprint network including LTE, currently set for June 30. Iirc T-Mobile has been telling financial analysts this shutdown will occur this summer.
  20. The Samsung A32 5g factory unlocked is not affected by n7 likely since it has not been upgraded to Android 12 yet. 1x800 is still alive. My LG G2s (and G4 and v20) with Android 5 etc do see this upgrade. Would be good if you could filter out these type of devices if easily done until 1x800 dies with all carriers world wide. Swipe refresh worked on samsung a10e, Moto g7 power, T-Mobile Revvl.
  21. Thanks. Yes the engineering screen shows n41. The S21 ultra works fine. Removed typo "not".
  22. n7 still appearing with latest version on samsung galaxy a32 5g with android 12. Swipe feature works. Log sent. Samsung s21 ultra does show solid n41 connection on T-Mobile through Boost Mobile. Note: fixed typo by removing "not".
