  1. One last idea. Return the Nexus 5 and get another phone, on April 10th or whatever day it's going to be in stores return the 2nd phone and get the M8.
  2. I don't have one but I watched a review and it did indeed change when they changed the theme.
  3. I wonder if telesales would let you return it and send you a M8 or did you use Easy Pay?
  4. Which means if you wan't to buy it on Easy Pay (as an existing customer) you are out of luck until April. For whatever reason only new lines can use Easy Pay online.
  5. Well it still could be that they are not compatible with CDMA. VZW's M8 is a world phone, Sprint's doesn't appear to be.
  6. I get what you're saying but there is a difference. No idea how much of DT's assets are available for T-Mobile US so they are left out. Total Assets: AT&T: $277 Billion (US) VZW: $274 Billion (US) Sprint: $86 Billion (US) Cash: AT&T: $3.3 Billion (US) VZW: $53.5 Billion (US) Sprint: $6.3 Billion (US)
  7. Details about the supposedly omitted parts. Envelope Power Tracker (QFE11xx) – The industry’s first modem-assisted envelope tracking technology designed for 3G/4G LTE mobile devices, this chip is designed to reduce overall thermal footprint and RF power consumption by up to 30 percent, depending on the mode of operation. By reducing power and heat dissipation, it enables OEMs to design thinner smartphones with longer battery life. Dynamic Antenna Matching Tuner (QFE15xx) – The world’s first modem-assisted and configurable antenna-matching technology extends antenna range to operate over 2G/3G/4G LTE frequency bands, from 700-2700 MHz. This, in conjunction with modem control and sensor input, dynamically improves the antenna’s performance and connection reliability in the presence of physical signal impediments, like the user’s hand.
  8. Did you have any luck? It makes no sense that you can add a new line and use Easy Pay but existing lines eligible for Easy Pay can't select that as an option.
  9. I wouldn't be too concerned about that, my M7 was in my hands last year and it still said that. If I recall correctly Sprint has contracted with UPS to handle everything once the order is placed so it is pretty efficient.
  10. Nope, still can't do that unfortunately. Also, apparently the ordering system is apparently having problems with the free Tab 3 promo code.
  11. Mind sharing why? It is available to order via telesales or online.
  12. LOL the Frobinsons, I will have to check that out.
  13. Sprint sold about 3,300 towers, which I assume was all or most, to Towerco in 2008 for a paltry $670 million. Several years ago (after 2008) I did see a tower fence with a Nextel sign on it but that may have just been a site that hadn't been remarked by its new owner.
  14. This exactly, the Nexus 5 is a perfect example. It supports all major US carriers except VZW. There is no reason a combined company cannot adopt this approach with all new phones going forward.
  15. As the topic says you can now switch to Framily plans online. When logging into my Sprint account today I was presented with the option. It also looks like you will be able to buy phones with Easy Pay online today. It say's the HTC One (M8) will be available online and via telesales at 1 Eastern for ~$27 a month with Easy Pay.
  16. As others have stated I would definitely call and complain. They are not car salesman, they should be assisting customers however they can, commission or not.
  17. I'm not going to argue with you, I really don't know much about how cabin pressurization works since my experience is all rotary wing. But I will say that with my experience in the hypobaric chamber for training as well as flying at high altitudes in Afghanistan I would not trust non pressurized oxygen to keep me alive long at that altitude.
  18. No, you are correct. I mispoke. But the reason remains the same
  19. Even with the masks providing oxygen at 45,000 feet the passengers and crew in the cabin would only have a few minutes for the plane to get down to about 10,000 feet. These masks won't do much for you other than keeping you alive for a few minutes, there is a reason you are told to assist children put them on before you put yours on, the chance of losing of consciousness or simply not having the ability to function will present itself very quickly. The crew of the flight deck should be equipped with pressure masks which will allow them to continue fairly normally until returning to a safe altitude.
  20. Haven't seen it before either, thanks for sharing. Seeing some small carriers holding some BRS surprised me.
  21. The problem with Sprint's approach is that they don't lower your service charge if you use easy pay. For new customers that can join a Framily with 7+ people it's not a big deal but for those of us on a legacy plan or even on Framily that just can't recruit people for whatever reason to switch to Sprint our bill's will actually go up if we want a new phone. Unless most people are just too dense to realize this I don't see the end of subsidies being a smart move for Sprint.
  22. Unfortunately I haven't been able to pick it up in that location since that day so it may have just been an issue of the stars aligning correctly and getting a signal from the distant Adamsville site. Some good news for Alabama though, I am now picking up 1x Voice on 800 in my basement office in downtown Birmingham so it looks like Ericsson is finally getting around to installing some 1x carrier cards in the area.
  23. AFAIK the majority of devices that do not have access to Google Play are Wi-Fi only so I don't think it's a big deal. There may be a handful of phones and tablets that don't have Google Play but as you said I would imagine people buying those would either root and install Play or just not be interested in SignalCheck.
