  1. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1776-network-visionlte-baltimore-market-including-annapoliseast-shore/page-24&do=findComment&comment=493661 about 50 mins and 1h7min in they talk about health reasons. I believe they are the 2nd and 6th question there were more after that. The meeting was about what limits could they put on the looks and placement of the sites. There were others meeting where health effects was a main topic I believe they were Charlotte and New Orleans if you wanted to look in those threads. New Orleans may have been just some one complaining about health after they learn a site went up out side their business when work was being done.
  2. Not sure if you have watched the townhall meetings posted here about the small cells. Health is one of the top reasons people state as the reasons they don't want towers in the area. Looks are one of the reasons but even when it is pointed out that the meetings are about setting rules for small cells looks people go on about it doesn't matter what they look like because they would still be "bad" for health reasons.
  3. Also Magic Box is a great way to get a round town rules about no towers or no small cell sites. They still need that backhaul site for the Magic Boxes but no need to pay a town 1000+ dollars a year for small cells. Crossing my fingers they have the same reach out side as a strong wifi hotspot (~300ft).
  4. The hill behind the house is higher and a little closer to the site and I know I can connect to lte there. From what I saw it was a shoe box size. I would have to get one in my hands before I make a decision on what to make. It would not be that hard to built a box out of wood I have laying around and seal it with stuff I have laying around. Hardest part would be to find a pipe to get it off the ground. We had close to 40 people here for the holidays no one has service here. Terrain is just bad it is not like Texas or LA. I would look at the airave but I may ask to move the magic box to a location that has no backhaul such a campsite and keep it at the campsite during summer and home during winter. Live up north heat should not be a problem like the south with your 105+ days.
  5. I understand that it won't sit in the environment it would be inside an enclosure of some kind if I get one. Even a plastic tote silicon shout would keep water and bugs out. Some houses are just 2x4 and plywood. So a bird house that is sealed would do the job of keeping everything save.
  6. I can't get any signal inside yet. That is why I would like an outdoor model or external antenna to drag outside to get the signal over the hillside. 100 meters should reach inside the house or other places outside. I think I may put a request in and try to put it outside in a weather proof box of some kind. This model is more for the city where there are lots of towers though more than rural areas.
  7. Those iBridge/iRelay make it easy to spot a sprint small cell site also they sometimes have the site ID on them. https://dl.dropbox.com/s/xjj1nmocitaqg54/20170425_165910.png?dl=0 More pictures can be found in the Columbus thread but the above picture is of a rural town in the Pittsburgh market. So people should be on the look out for them.
  8. If Sprint wants to sent me one of those to put up by myself I will take it. I have a few places I know that need some thing that I can put up.
  9. I am hoping that sprint is working with some companies for these magic boxes for example restaurants like McDonald or gas stations Speedway. That may be a way to add small cell numbers very fast because essentially these are small cells just powered by plugging them in an outlet. I would like to see an outdoor model though I guess I could hide it in a bird house with power run to it.
  10. Just a follow up on my B41 in Columbia I was only attached to 2 sites that SCP did not guess a band that fit the nokia mini macro B41 style. Both were near exit 9 I-77 one picked up 3 sectors so pretty sure about where that is and the other is just one sector so it would be a guess to where it would be. The different GCI for each sector makes it a pain to be sure though. It goes from 022A0731 to 022A3532 meaning there may be up to 10 sites live in the market some where to fill in the missing GCI.
  11. Yes I have always had a good experience there but that market has complained like you do about Minnesota. I have not seen enough change in the last couple years in technology to say "hey you will really like it now". Just like your standard is your standard up north. Jacksonville still a lot of clearwire and not enough 8t8r or Nokia mini macros to satisfy their standard.
  12. If you are still in the Jacksonville market don't bother testing it. I have not seen the "demanded" growth in capacity yet. I still find it very good compared to a lot of places but it is still the the second worst market in Florida with a lot of improvement to go.
  13. You made what you want them to do with upload a guess. I just made it a little clearer. They don't need that much total capacity on the upload. Even without CA upload.
  14. Yeah they need to lower it a little more to allow more download capacity.
  15. So saw B41 in Columbia,SC that is new to me. https://www.dropbox.com/s/fuq3059tbo7ja71/Screenshot_20170426-182353.png?dl=0
  16. Have you search youtube for "1440p 60fps"? There are not many videos that show the 1440p 60fps as an option. I have only found video games and a couple GoPro videos. Most of the 4k 60fps videos I glanced at do not show the 1440p 60fps option only the videos shot in 1440p 60fps.
  17. Does changing the Band Priority do anything? I don't have a lot of B41 around me so I can't test it. The network should do the handoffs but if B41 can be "forced onto". What is stopping it from staying on B41 with out turning off the other bands. I know I also reduced the LTE timer so I don't have to airplane mode to get lte as much. Having the MSL makes life so much easier.
  18. How are you comparing the upload recieved signals on the towers(high up network sources)? The only way I see to compare is the "I feel" test. Or overlap signal detector maps showing a difference in coverage.
  19. I was busy finding replacement for a broken ceiling fan so no time to sit. I did try and airplane mode but no new GCI. If I had to guess what it was then sprint because it had what looked like an AirHarmony 4000. http://www.airspan.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/AirHARMONY-4000-April2016-lr.pdf https://www.dropbox.com/s/fxri7elo4fyeine/20170421_124028.jpg?dl=0
  20. Found this today near old kmart uniontown. https://www.dropbox.com/s/7d8lce62qklbc8q/20170421_122130.jpg?dl=0
  21. I saw a possible issue when I went to activate the phone. 10GB tethering option was not there and HD streaming was unchecked. I talked to chat to make sure it stays. Not sure what will happen to the 10 GB tethering if you don't call. I just saw HD streaming unchecked and thought I would call about it. I was not given an answer they did the activation and it is still in my plan for now.
  22. So this just showed up https://dl.dropbox.com/s/c8stib8f7yz6xoi/20170419_095448.jpg?dl=0 https://dl.dropbox.com/s/4zrb2ae2gyhvsy1/20170419_094957.jpg?dl=0 Now to figure out how to send the old phone back.(Maybe I should read a little bit before I do to much. lol)
  23. Then it is most likely a nokia mini macro B41. Which has B25/B26 market but 31/32/33/39/3A/3B for the sector.
  24. Williamsport in Western PA market and US-22 to i-99 up to I-80 then i-80 east are very accurate from my signal detector logs. But I have a feeling old ntelos area is over estimated unless something has changed since I have been to a few places It maybe a guess based on Shentels maps though. I am keeping my fingers crossed it is accurate but not holding my breath. Ithaca NY is over estimated to the east on 79 by a few miles maybe 2 miles but the west seems correct to I-99. I trying to see how big a signal detector log can be I am at 28 MB and 82000 right now.
  25. Man I hate when Sprint does not stay consistent with their GCI. I was in Ithaca, NY thinking hey look B41 but no it was just a messed up GCI 011A3Cxx B25 and B26. Because of the 011 it was believed to be B41. Not sure if it being colocated with clearwire was the problem I thought 011 was in Cleveland(Clearwire) but it got me excited for a minute. Traveling down US 15 was painful in to PA.
