  1. Hot off the Goldman Sachs Investor call with Marcelo Claure... Highlights at 35 mins into the call (11:05 Eastern) -Sprint will add 2000 Macro sites (no time frame given) - Will have EVERY cell site with 800, 1.9 and 2.5 (No time frame given) - Will deploy many thousands of mini macro and such in addition to the Macro sites. -Capex will be $5-7 billion this year and "At least that much next year or more".... Marcelo's thoughts were that now that Sprint is growth positive and cash positive (his words) Sprint can now invest heavily and expand it's footprint.
  2. Nothing else expected from Apple. They make a decent phone... but I will not fall victim to their financial eco system. I refuse to have to turn everything I own into an apple product.
  3. Very Impressive! Can't believe this is the same Sprint of 2 years ago! I really like the new ad motto: "Sprint, working for you!" Simple and to the point,... and now thank goodness, it's more than just hype!
  4. Thanks for the feedback. Regardless, it's nice to see things improving. Up until recently, there was no 3rd carrier. It just started showing up recently. Am glad for improvements happening.
  5. Sprint must be in the area servicing local towers in the last few weeks... I've started seeing Band 41x3 on my phone in the last week. Carrier aggregation is alive and well!
  6. Sprint must be doing upgrades in my area. My now "old" Note 5 now displays B41x3 (cubed).... 3 x carrier aggregation? This started over the last week. I think that is the limit for this device? Will massive mimo mean that some newer phones can use and display something like B41x64? (or more)?
  7. Thanks for the hard work on the site getting back to being friendly and usable! Thanks to all who are helping... Robert (of course), Mike and any others!
  8. Multi form factors: Per the call... Post mount (weather protected), cable mount outdoor (weather protected) etc... So yes, it appears sprint will be using magic box outdoor eventually also... As a side question... as our MB's go live on network, do you think it will reflect in coverage maps?
  9. My Magic Box took a day or two to completely provision/configure. No sure what it is doing during that time, but my speeds slowly increased to more than reasonable speeds. It started about like your speeds and within a day or two, I'm at...33.83 down and 5.46 up... .. it's much more consistent than I had before the box... I was walking yesterday, and I can pick up a pretty good signal from it more than a block away. It's pretty cool.
  10. I sort of agree that if you are getting that quality of signal and speed without, then you probably don't need one. However, I don't think it's anyone's business on this forum, to tell someone that and say "Send it back!". Most of us who have requested a Magic Box have a specific issue with indoor data issues. For me, it was I rarely get B41 in the house and am on the crowded end of B25. Further, we are all Sprint paying customers and nobody is getting denied one because someone else has it. Sprint goes through a process to determine if you are a candidate. Let Sprint make the decision.
  11. Can you answer a question... I have Signal Check Pro... If I have an 1x signal detected with a location ... then an LTE location also just below it with no location... is it the same tower/location as the 1X RTT signal?
  12. My Magic Box is operating back on Band 41 too! Am happier now. Speeds have gone up finally to at least as good at before without the MB...during early morning tests. Seems to be now locked on B41 from the Macro. Took some time to get there on it's own... So far so good. Phone's battery life seems to be much better at home too.
  13. No, not speculation. Son has been saying for the last few months. The longer it takes, the less likely it is to happen.
  14. Red Dog... have you called the Sprint Magic Box help line? Really disappointed for you! Hope you find a solution. Mine's ok... but I think my speeds are slower now than before I installed it! I might just send it back... Not much improvement indoors for me. I hope Sprint isn't hoping this will cure their network holes. This is definitely no replacement for a better built network.
  15. Anybody hear any new rumblings of merging? I thought both of our fearless Sprint leaders said a merger announcement was "imminent"??
  16. did you plug it in and then literally leave it alone for like 2 hours? It stayed at 20% for over 1 hour.. then another 45 minutes before it asked about window signal strength test. ... Now Sprint's network is acting up because it lost the signal.. and I only have 1X at the house right now. I didn't pay anything for this, but the short time it was working, I got better on network speed without it. .
  17. The South-Hill Bridge (Main Street) by the Cadillac Dealer... along the Clinton River... By the way... it's 8:35pm and the network is acting up again... I only have 1x at the house right now?? WTH?? I don't believe they would be working on towers at this hour as its getting dark....
  18. Mine is connected too. Took a couple of hours!! At first the signal was unusable... now it is usable..... Speeds are low (2.95mps down... 45 up).. Does this thing get faster the longer it's connected?
  19. Good to know! Thanks Mr. Z! With 800 work starting on some towers, I'm hoping they put it on all the towers in the area. I'm wondering if the "Bridge Tower", as I call it, on the North End of town is the 800mHz I pick up at Home Depot?
  20. Are you going to walk like an Egyptian outside to see the eclipse? (This is bad... but fun... okay... no more)... LOL
  21. Yeah, believe it or not, I'm not sure the site in Downtown Rochester along the Clinton River Trail is actually a Sprint site? I hope it is as it's a huge massive tower! I wonder because sometimes I can be at the Irish pub along Main... just barely a 1/4 mile away and I won't pick it up! Odd. When in town, I usually get the Tienken and Main site. At my house I get Adams and Walton (usually) ... even though the tower at Livernois, north of Hamlin is about equal, or slightly closer. The only thing I can attribute it to is the hilly terrain in the area. By the way, that mini site on the pole is at Rochester College (Michigan Christian College) across from the Home Depot on Avon Road. That site looks to be about 1 month old or less.
  22. Why was the download nearly half as fast after M.Box was installed? I would have hoped it was better.
  23. I live 1 mile east of Oakland University. Walton Blvd, Old Perch Rd, Livernois area.... time was around 5 or 6pm. Don't remember... but it was a pain with only slow data available.... I just hope you're right, in that, they might be working on towers in the area... My main tower I always pick up is at Adams and Walton,(1.5 miles) behind the Sprint Store. That day however, I was on the tower much further away! (Tienken and Rochester)?? That's about 3-4 miles from my house. My usual back up tower (also 1.5 miles but don't easily pick up due to hills / terrain) if I even walk 1 block south of my house is on Livernois, between Avon and Hamlin in the Mini Self-storage lot. Weird stuff going on.
