  1. Which model is that? I wanted the S9+ (unlocked) but went on Samsung USA's site and it's missing certain bands (including 71) ... You have to get a T-Mob version to get that, but that one too is missing other bands... I tried to look at the phone sites and Phonescoop... Guess I just will wait and see. Thanks for the info though.
  2. Does anyone think soon any upcoming phones will contain all the essential bands / software to work on both networks (Sprint and T-Mobile).... I need a new phone and would rather wait until I can get a great devise that will be great for the convergence if it actually comes?
  3. Post Merger, Sprint is "T-Mobile". So I would assume that any of the available spectrum that is now jointly owned at that time is viable for use in Shentel markets. If you are going to part of the name, I would hope that you would have the rights to use any and all available. That is if they decide to become part of the whole company?
  4. I don't think Verizon will try it to buy Dish.... with the AT&T / Time Warner deal being blocked... to me the Dish / Verizon thought is the same.
  5. Reoccurring theme: "Should of", "Could of", "Would of".... for many, many years and many CEO's/Chairman. The answer is Sprint didn't. Time to turn the page. Hopefully new company and changing times will put all that valuable spectrum to use.
  6. As long as we get some of T-Mob's 600mHz. I'm sure the companies will utilize all their spectrum with what-ever the Government ends up letting them keep.
  7. Both T-Mobile and Sprint have their Investor Relations quarterly results tomorrow at 4:30pm. Do you think they are combining into one join meeting together?
  8. Don't you think though, that if the merger was green lighted, all they have to do is open up the network to allow Sprint on their LTE? Obviously the voicecall GSM part would still be limiting, but... oh wait... don't they have voice over LTE and we don't?
  9. But I think that's just it.... "Sprint "COULD" accomplish this on it own". Maybe. Not if the cash is tight. Any little thing, Sprint, stops network update/upgrades and restarts this merger talk. How many times can you do this before you frustrate everyone. I personally need a new phone but do not want to buy until this is all ironed out. I'm one of the people that buys and keeps their phone for a long time. If this is a go... I have an cheaper GSM / T-mob/AT&T phone that will work until the merger is done, my high end CDMA / LTE phone is old and needs to be retired. I would rather buy a High end GSM/LTE phone than another CDMA/LTE phone if this is really happening.
  10. Sitting at my kitchen table, using Signal Check Pro, I am on LTE 1900 for Data with my Wifi shut off. For Voice calls it goes to 1xRTT.
  11. No... no issue here. I called Sprint. I already had a trouble ticket in with them so I got right through to Technical support. They are sending me a 'return kit' to put my Magic Box in and return via UPS. The clowns at the local stores (many of them) are like used car sales people running the retail outlets and they scare me. Most of them are independently owned/run. I feel like they are trying to sell snake oil. I went there last Saturday and was asked, "How attached are you to your phone number?"... "I can get you on a $30 plan by adding a 2nd line and then about a week later, come back and cancel your old phone number/account"... Sneaky, shady, dishonest. Technical support asked detailed questions about the issues with no incoming calls. I explained I tried everything, including re-provisioning my phone via Sprint Customer Support, updated PRL, turned if off and off 100 times... etc... then played with unplugging the Magic box and getting incoming calls again. A little while later i plugged it in again and then no incoming calls. ( I had my Verizon work phone that I was able to call my main number and play around with). I unplugged the box and i had incoming calls again. Called for my return kit today. I know many on here will argue that Magic Box only works with LTE Data.. and that's all good and fine. I'm not a network engineer. But some software update they did over a week ago started the issues with incoming calls. Magic Box is causing me issues which I don't need.
  12. Don't know what to tell you. Had Magic box plugged in... No calls would ring. Had my Verizon cell home from work to test. Unplugged Magic box, and my Note 5 would ring and work normally. Plugged the Magic box in and let it reconfigure (log in network) and again... no incoming calls! My other sister came over, she has an AT&T cell, did the same thing with the same results. I'm not using WiFi calling or anything like that... nothing changed on my phone. So I'm just telling you what is going on and if others are experiencing the same thing. Magic box is causing an issue and I'm sick of calling Sprint as they are clueless with their own equipment. I cannot tell you how many times I was lead down the road of "turning phone off and then on"..."please update your PRL"... "please update your profile" blah, blah blah.... all the while knowing more than them that none of that would correct the issue. I will call Sprint again and request a billing credit (and I'll get it) and then I will ask on how to return the magic box. Don't need this headache anymore.
  13. Sprint updated something with the Magic Box on Wednesday or Thursday (Feb 28th or March 1st)... since then my Galaxy Note 5 will not received incoming calls. All I get is an eventual voicemail if they leave one. I didn't know the Magic Box was the problem at first and was very frustrating. My phone would work everywhere but home (Receiving calls)... only when home it didn't work. I went to local Sprint store... called customer service 2 or 3 times.... nothing worked. Now they escalated to Network team. Well, I figured it out today... I unplugged my MB, and wonder of wonders, it works! So I'm about done with MB. I have to figure out a way to call them and get MB dept and tell them of my issues and how I can send it back.
  14. Did anyone notice around the 2:28 mark in the video, Gunther referenced 600mHz in his chart? Do you think they will have a roaming ability on it ? Not sure when this interview was taped, but it would be great if we could.
  15. thanks RedSpark... I'll try again. It's about getting the right person on the other end that kinda-sorta knows what they are doing. I'm afraid to have them change my plan because then it will kick off have to reapply for my corporate discount and all that rig-a-mo-roll... Oh, by the way, thought you'd all enjoy this... one of the overseas customer service agents said I wasn't eligible for a devise upgrade / contract termination because of my new device I had recently purchased?? (Magic Box). After explaining to them what it was and much more confusion they rescinded what they earlier said.. What ever. As long as my bill is correct at the end of the month.
  16. Hopefully you'll get a rep that knows what they are doing. I had no luck dealing with Customer care after 2 tries. I have to work up the stamina of trying again. The on line chat person said I was good to go, but couldn't get the Hulu working. ( I had also called Hulu for help and they said it was strictly in Sprint's court) Online finally told me to call 888-477-4727 Sprints normal help #. Called twice... one was overseas and could not speak clear enough English to understand and kept putting me on hold to "Check with someone". A few hours later tried again. Told that only the new Freedom Unlimited plan was the only one that is truly free for customers. If you have a different plan, you will get the first 30 days free then a charge will begin automatically. I asked for escalation to a supervisor... was put on hold for 10 mins then the agent came back on to say nobody was available and to call back. This was my experience over the weekend. I was nice the entire time as being mean or forceful gets you no where.
  17. I had issues logging into Hulu... after adding it easily on Sprint.com. It showed $0.00 when I added it. Just thought I let many of you know, the Sprint rep I talked to said the "Truly" free Hulu was only available to Freedom unlimited plan customers. The existing plan customers get the first month free, then it's $6.99 /month automatically added to your bill. I have a 450 minute talk, unlimited data and text. I opted to not add Hulu as I don' t need another $7 bucks on my bill and do not want to be on another contract if I change my plan. Appreciate if someone could verify?
  18. Both Sprint and T-Mobile officially announced they are ending merger talks. What? Really... Yes!
  19. Deutsche Telekom Said to visit SoftBank, Son, this weekend in Japan to discuss Merger. https://www.cnbc.com/2017/11/03/sprint-t-mobile-talks-continue-deutsche-telekom-to-visit-softbank-this-weekend-sources-say.html
  20. I'm suspecting it's not over yet either. Official word needs to come from one side or the other and that hasn't happened yet. It's already Wednesday in Japan (8am)... should have heard something official now if it were really over.
  21. Still no clear news on what is going on... Merger talks are said to be still going. None of the business news orgs know any detail. From what is known, DT has said the merger talks are still on... This is all very strange and with no news coming out ?....
  22. Not a troll. Been a Sprint customer since 2000. 17+ years. Lots of broken promises. I don't like being told what to say (EVER!) to never say anything negative about Sprint. I do not "drink the Kool Aide" here or anywhere else. I'm conversing in an open forum. Without my corporate discount, their single plans are the same cost as everyone else, so don't come with leave if you don't like it. I like Sprint but wish they'd truthfully get there act together., but I've been saying that for 10+ years. By the way, they posted a net loss yesterday. Not a profit making company regardless of what you all say and one with huge dept. Bigger than any of the other players. Is the company healthy? No. Are they adding customers. Yes, with free plans, they are adding. Are they making money... ?? well...I and everyone else except some of you here, say no. It's all real.
  23. You're right. Sorry. No offense intended. Sprint is a healthy and viable company with enormous growth potential. with all the promised advances and everything we've been told, it will probably do very well.
  24. I don't see Coverage partnerships happening with companies. The way to do that and the way you're thinking would be to install signal repeaters in the hallways of large Hotels and large businesses, not Magic boxes. The hotels/companies won't pay for this. It's expensive. Sprint wont do it either so that's quite a dilemma. Most hotels in this country have Wi-fi. Really... no need or want for them to come to the aid of Sprint on this. The writing is on the wall. 4 place is where the company will be and stay unless something dramatic happens. Something will happen too. Son will not want to hang onto this company if the T-Mobile merger fails. He will unload at what every price he can get. I think he is/already tried that by the way... which is why we have an all stock deal of a potential merger. No cash involved. It's called cut your losses and leverage what you do have.... If this fails, I see some of the spectrum being sold in order to pay off or refinance the huge debt notes coming due in a few years and for them to try to do a weak 5G build... I just personally don't see Sprint surviving long term, let alone overtaking anyone... even with massive mimo, small cells or what have you... because the other big 3 cell providers are already doing the same thing.
  25. Good take from Bloomberg on the Sprint earnings report this morning and what lays ahead for Sprint. In a nutshell, merger is needed more than before...... https://www.bloomberg.com/gadfly/articles/2017-10-25/sprint-earnings-has-loss-awaits-t-mobile-deal
