  1. I figured with the spectrum that Sprint now has on band 41, it'd be possible with TD-LTE-A
  2. Once LTE-A becomes the norm in the next year or so, I imagine we will start seeing that.
  3. I don't have an LTE phone yet, but looks like I made my first contribution to the wimax cause. Almost looks like I have a tower in my backyard :-D I would also like to thank the Sensorly rep for his active involvement with this community. It's awesome to see an app developer work so hard to improve their product for their customer base. It's guys like you and Mike from Signal Check that set the gold standard for customer service and satisfaction. Keep up the great work.
  4. I got the xbox360 first because it was cheaper than the ps3, but since the ps4 is $100 cheaper, I will probably end up with that first this time.
  5. Fancy. Kinda similar to how racing stripes make a car go faster. Sprint should be the first carrier with LTE-O, then.
  6. It used to be like that in St Augustine, too, near the southern part where there are a lot of residential clusters. They have two towers there that are 3G/4G accepted and now when I am near there for work I have a strong signal ~-79-89 dBm. Speed tests usually turn out 0.79-1.3 mbps there on 3G. I used to be stuck around zero bars and timeout with data and sms there. Still have a legacy tower serving the downtown ancient historical district, fittingly enough. It is still all but useless trying to send a text or check email there. Just gives you perspective on the NV upgrades.
  7. I don't see a November release happening, either. The phone is done, it is ready to go and to wait two months over the other carriers would put Sprint way behind. There is no point in pushing a two month old top tier phone. It will be old news by then.
  8. I am hoping that once NV is complete, the coverage holes in the current service area will disappear. For me, I get Sprint service just about anywhere I go, but it's the constant edge of service issue while driving that bothers me. You watch the bars decrease until you drop down to 1x RTT with zero bars and then back up constantly. My call quality is great, 3G has become a beast in reliability and speed, so once 800 mhz SMR and whatever small cells are added, I can see service being killer.
  9. Won't be able to tether that much... Isn't it only 500 megs tethering on T-Mobile? Plus that cap.. I can hit 2.5 gigs pretty easily on 3G.
  10. I've read that too, but I don't know. From what I've heard, ALU is trying to bow out of the mobile scene.
  11. Is that because of the Nextel shutdown or something else?
  12. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/2120-listing-of-legacy-vendorsnetwork-vision-vendors-by-market/ You're welcome. :-)
  13. Once your towers are broadcasting 800 mhz you should have a signal as solid as gold if you are a mile out.
  14. That would explain why it is taking so long to upgrade those towers in your area. I hope the workers have Gator insurance. Not sure about the reason, if there is one, but I've noticed that both Sprint and Verizon penetrate a lot better than AT&T and T-Mobile. It could be the difference between CDMA vs GSM or just better tower locations, but all the managers here are on T-Mobile and can't get a signal to save their lives indoors.
  15. On a Chinese website, there were distinct task bar icons of a fingerprint, too... This phone does seem to have some interesting tricks up its sleeve. I really am excited to see what comes of it.
  16. I like the concept but feel they should have an option to turn it off. That being said, I think HTC has always had the best ui overlay for Android.
  17. I agree that as long as Sprint keeps up with its network and keeps the value there for its customers, it will remain strong. They don't need to be as big as Verizon, that we just hurt them in the end since they will become that big monster in the cell industry that dominates everyone and has capacity concerns. Sprint has always been known to have good voice and has lead the industry in adopting the latest technology. Once they finish with their Network Vision modernization and keep up with their network from there, their "luster" will be a given.
  18. The only Sprint store here is an affiliate store and not corporate. I would have to drive an hour away from the Sprint store here to find one. Plus, I didn't know the difference at first, either. Generally speaking, when the average person sees the logo all over the walls and windows it looks like it belongs to that company. It's not like you have Walmart or McDonald's affiliates, so people assume it's the same thing. To tell you the truth, I never knew this program existed until now. I wish I did, I could be using an LTE phone by now.
  19. I have also been getting the network failure issues with Google maps, but it seems like that has been happening with Maps in general and not necessarily anything to do with Signal Check
  20. I have high hopes that within the next year it will be leaps and bounds better. Isn't NV already about 2/3 complete now? It seems like they are turning 800 mhz on pretty quickly in areas and LTE on that band won't be far behind. The only thing I am not certain of is the time table for the TD-LTE on the 2.5/2.6 ghz band. Besides the handful of cities that Clear already lit up, I am not sure how Sprint is approaching their goal of adding it to all of their sites.
