I'm ready to call Comcast and tell them where they can stick their cable modem.

No, I would listen to what he says.

When I first got Sprint, about five years ago, I had this issue in one section of the city where my signal would be basically vapor and whenever I was on the phone I'd get pieces of other conversations fading in and out while I was on the line. I haven't noticed that in a few years, though.

Will my LTE get better?
The Dave replied to danRandall's topic in Network, Network Vision/LTE Deployment
More like a physical place to go to buy more stuff. -
That is exactly it. Sprint has too much to focus on domestically to get to where they need to be. I know they have a lot of backing now with Softbank, but that isn't enough in the grand scheme of things if you want a true top to bottom top tier future proof network from coast to coast in this country. If Sprint was already NV 3.0 complete with nationwide triband LTE-A and anyone from downtown Miami to the middle of a Nebraskan cornfield could pull a consistent 3-6 bar signal and 50 mbps down data, I'd say it would be a good time to expand outside the borders.

I did add to the discussion. Perhaps you shouldn't insult people and tell them to go to other networks while on a Sprint focused site.

It would be even more exciting to me if my Sprint phone had service at my dad's house in western Iowa.

What will Sprint do with Clearwire now that it owns it?
The Dave replied to newgroundsguru's topic in WiMax
With how precious spectrum is and how much is needed with LTE-A, wouldn't it be better for Sprint to hold onto their extra spectrum?- 127 replies

It would be great to see some Nexus love for Sprint. Once I saw band 41 support, I found it convincing enough.

No one is pointing a finger at you. As others have said, so far you still have unlimited. We will just have to wait and see what Sprint does or when.- 127 replies

Will my LTE get better?
The Dave replied to danRandall's topic in Network, Network Vision/LTE Deployment
Once they have more towers up, the network should be more consistent. My 3G used to be garbage but as more and more towers got upgraded, it got a lot better. At least you have good wifi both at home and at work. -
If SVLTE is a deal breaker, there are a few options. - Get a freedompop mifi and you have 500 megs free data to use each month to check emails while calling. - Get a Evo LTE, LG O2, etc.. The HTC and LG are currently free and do SVLTE - Use Google voice or other information based voice service which integrates with Sprint Problem solved. Most people who need triband are the ones who can't get LTE signal while indoors or have a weak signal now, so SVLTE wouldn't be of much use, anyway.

Alternate forms of wireless communication beyond radiowaves?

That reminds me of an old Nextel commercial where they revealed how they were able to do nationwide PTT by attaching antennas to deer antlers -
Alternate forms of wireless communication beyond radiowaves?

Maybe you could create a wireless network that runs on the power of hopes and dreams instead of spectrum. The question is.. Do you believe? -
Bande à part: LG G2 is the first announced Sprint tri band LTE handset
The Dave commented on WiWavelength's blog entry in The Wall
It sounds like the rf performance is mediocre overall on the G2, a fact that disappoints me more so than lack of SVLTE/SVDO. -
Verizon, Vodafone Agree to $130 Billion Deal, WSJ Reports
The Dave replied to Rawvega's topic in General Topics
The only taste of LTE that I have had here is the 33 Mbps speedtest that I ran at the Verizon store and the 6 Mbps speedtest that I ran at the Sprint store across the street. That is very arbitrary, I realize. What I do know, though, is that my 3G has become more reliable than the wifi at work and is more responsive than my coworkers 4G LG Optimus Pro on AT&T. Verizon and AT&T would be foolish to not consider Sprint a threat. I am pretty sure that they both hold countless strategy meetings and have quite a few spies who eyeball every move that both Sprint and T-Mobile are doing. Sprint has very aggressive plans for the next few years. If anyone thinks they can sit on their golden horse and wait, they will soon find themselves out of the race. -
Sprint LTE Coverage Maps via Sensorly

In the immortal words of Sherlock Holmes, "The game is afoot". -
I am skeptical about the battery lasting for "a couple of days of moderate usage". But, on the subject of the review, it almost sounds like it was paid for by LG. I am not saying it won't be an awesome phone. I am looking forward to it. My very first cell phone was an LG back when Sprint began their "Vision" campaign with the very first color screen flip phones. I liked that phone and have high hopes for the G2. I just have to see how the LG skinned overlay is in person over stock Android.
