  1. Right on! All of the "loyal" Sprint users are chomping at the bit to jump to Verizon because of the more expensive unlimited offering. I would like to see Sprint let existing customers move to the promotional price but in their last earnings call Robaitti was talking up the future increased revenue when promotional pricing ends.
  2. Verizon's deal was bound to happen but what can Sprint do? Not much, it would need billions and a decade to match Verizon. I think a merger of cableco or other wireless companies is in the future.
  3. I haven't been to Lewisburg, WV in several years so i'm not sure about network status. I remember being able to call and text just fine though. It is likely still a very rural town so I wouldn't expect B41 or 10x10 but if seen please report!
  4. Shentel seems to be following through with its commitment to nTelos territory From Yahoo article: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/shenandoah-telecommunications-company-reports-q4-134016030.html Shentel exceeded its targets for the nTelos network upgrade during 2016. The number of targeted sites and the number actually completed during the year are provided below: Target Actual Sites upgraded from 3G to 4G LTE: 301 302 800 MHz capability added to existing sites 94 99 De-commission overlapping sites 62 76 New Coverage Sites 50 51
  5. I think there are 2 different arguments here. James is saying for those that can afford $800 to choose the interest free installment as that allows more flexibility in repayment. AJ is saying for those who can't afford $800 a cheaper alternative is financially more prudent.
  6. Did anyone catch this announcement about a new device called Essential? Here's an article mentioning the developer talking to sprint. http://bgr.com/2017/01/14/andy-rubin-essential-smartphone/ "At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in early January, Rubin discussed the smartphone with mobile carrier executives, including some from Sprint Corp., people familiar with the talks said" Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  7. I much prefer the text, at least that way I have time to think about the right response...
  8. I wonder what the battery life tradeoff will be - that 2x increased power output has to take a big chunk out of the battery.
  9. No other place to ask and I'm sure a rumor thread would get deleted but I want to ask... Do you guys think there is weight to Samsung forgoing the home button for a full screen S8 phone with a virtual home button?
  10. Has anyone driven through Squirrel Hill to test if service is active yet? I always dropped to no service in Liberty, but maintained at least 3G in Fort Pitt and Squirrel Hill. http://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2016/06/27/cell-phone-service-coming-to-squirrel-hill-tunnel/ From the article: Work in the Fort Pitt Tunnel, and the Liberty Tunnel will be easier than Squirrel Hill because the conduits already exist. But Verizon stated that Squirrel Hill will go online first, with Liberty and Fort Pitt to follow. Each tunnel coming on line as soon as the work is finished. The work is expected to occur through mid September.
  11. How is giving away service for free for life a good thing?? I'm no business major but $0 in service revenue with compounding cost to the network is not a good decision.
  12. Sprint, if not #1, is very close in my area. I've not dropped to 3G in 6 months and enjoy all three LTE bands plus 3 bands of B41 while at work. T-Mobile doesn't offer service in my area...making it a distant 4th (not even close).
  13. Not only that but Sprint's CEO actively campaigned for Hillary. So both S and TMUS will probably be liquidated and reformed into a new company: T-Mobile : Trump Mobile haha
  14. I recall reading about this a while ago...looks like it has resolved in Sprint's favor. http://thetimes-tribune.com/news/sprint-wins-appeal-to-put-cell-phone-antennas-back-atop-10-story-condo-building-in-scranton-1.2114323 Interesting snippet: “The Hill Neighborhood is disappointed that Sprint was able to bypass the city ordinance that states cell towers/antennas are not permitted in a residential area,” HNA President Nicole Pettinato said in an email. “The HNA is committed to fight any company that wants to put antennas in our neighborhood.”
  15. I spent the morning in Leesburg at the Outlets and had perfect service - B25 or B41 throughout (even indoors). Back in WV now without problems but I haven't made any calls today. I have noted a lot of B41 coming online in the eastern panhandle's cities - Charles Town, Ranson, and Martinsburg.
  16. I read a seeking alpha editorial article that said Sprint could hugely reduce it's interest expense by taking out more spectrum backed, investment grade notes. If that's the case why hasn't Tarek done that already? Was this first spectrum backed funding a proof of concept and then they'll be doing it again? http://seekingalpha.com/article/4015759-sprint-even-valuable-thought
  17. What do you think these managers and VP's think when an S4GRU member contacts them, happy to speak to an enthusiastic customer or weirded out by an enthusiastic customer?
  18. Does the Sprint activated Pixel have wifi calling? Nvm, found on reddit - mtcii - confirmed it wasn't activated...shame
  19. A Gillette razor was waiting for me in my freshman dorm room. I haven't even tried other razors since then.
  20. Update to the always on display feature... Go to settings > display > always on display > about always on display and click to update. I use the feature and now there are more clock options, colors, and background images. I think you can use any background image you want now. Which is cool, but will probably eat more battery than just using the clock/calendar.
