In the northern part of LA Metro, there are at least 3 LADWP transmission tower installations that have not had any work. The bulk of the remaining work seems to be: transmission tower installations, distribution power pole installations and for some reason sites on university and college campuses (not DAS, but macro sites.)

And the Band 41 marches on...in the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus for Sprint

Thanks for turning this around so quickly! -
That's not just a white room. It's the construct in the Matrix.

I really hope Apple proves that it can maintain innovation even without Jobs. I'm excited to see what they reveal -- and I have never owned an iPhone. I would consider an iPhone if it gains tri-band support.

Sprint to join Rural Operators Roaming Hub (CCA and RRPP thread)

Since Public Service Wireless didn't build out for voice coverage, I wonder what their coverage is like. There doesn't seem to be a coverage map on their site. -
Legacy equipment... but that's a strong signal isn't it?

How about the world's first tri-mode ad: Marcelo in the first 1/3 of the screen ripping out equipment, Carly in the 2nd and Zombies in the last third.

Sprint doesn't need an agency. Just get 2 cosplayers, dress them up as an 8T8R panel and an RRU, send them out with a megaphone around town and record them extolling the virtues of Sprint's continuous network improvement. Done.

Sponsors get access to B25 and 1x800 information. Premiere Sponsors get access to B26 and B41 info. It's definitely money well spent if you're interested in these sort of things. As far as eCSFB on B41 in the L.A. Metro market, it's very hit or miss in many areas.

Maybe Pepper can take over for a certain managed services company that Sprint contracted with a few years back.

Those utility pole installations are pretty common in the L.A. area. All of the carriers have them, plus NextG built out quite a few for MetroPCS. I'd be curious to see what T-Mobile does with that. Maybe Sprint can use those in areas that need fill in coverage.

Was it obvious which repeaters were Sprint? They seem to use a wide variety of antenna designs. There are a lot of repeaters in this market!

The M8 is a great combo of quality design & materials + features. I usually buy Apple products, but I've been very satisfied with both my previous M7 and my current M8.

Network Vision/LTE - Boston Market (all of Massachusetts)

I got B26 in a basement lab at M.I.T. (77 Mass. Ave.) -- almost forgot to pay attention to the robotic cheetah I was there to see. I did a speed test, but now I can't find it -- it was definitely faster than regular EVDO. -
There is this service at the JNB airport. You reserve your card in advance to be RICA compliant: http://b4i.travel/ Not sure if that helps for your situation. Ultimately I didn't use the service, I borrowed a SIM card from a local.

It is completely silly to tie one's self worth to a single carrier. It's more like this: Self worth = Sprint stock price - Tmo Avg. EDGE Speeds / Weight of halted AT&T tower gear X number of Verizon XLTE sites.

What? A fair article about Sprint? Things really are changing!

An introduction to South African carriers
bigmachine replied to Azimuth's topic in International Networks
I recently traveled to South Africa for work. I have to say I was very impressed by the coverage. I was out in the middle of nowhere in KZN and still got great reception and data. I brought my unlocked Sprint HTC One M7 and used a Vodacom SIM card. It took me a few minutes to sort out the settings, but it was definitely cool to see something different than EVDO/EHRPD pop up on Signal Check Pro.- 28 replies
