  1. I think that the article is missing one key component of the whole BB10 picture which is the enterprise support. True, a typical consumer might not see a benefit compared to a similar device, but I know that if my work was issuing Blackberrys I'd be a much happier person knowing that the Z10 exists. And corporations might find their users much happier overall with something like the Z10 than the current models, which may increase productivity. (These are all grand assumptions, feel free to shoot me down .) To me, the most exciting part of enterprise support is the touted separation of enterprise and personal services. Enterprise managers can restrict what can be done on the enterprise end of the phone, such as the inability to forward e-mails to personal accounts should they have attachments, etc. So, while some might not be impressed, I think for corporate end users who have to have a Blackberry, this will come as a huge sigh of relief and may even retain some companies that otherwise were about to leave.
  2. What I wish we could really get is what we had with WiMax 4G and we do have with WiFi; a separate signal strength indicator along with the 1X signal strength.
  3. I know part of it is finding the room to store the equipment, especially in NYC where the system is so old and was never designed for the amount of telecommunications and electrical components we have. You can see this in pictures of the original tunnels, without 4,247 pipes per station, and current looks of stations. There isn't a lot of available space underground to build new telecommunications rooms. And, those rooms need to be air conditioned, as they discovered with the countdown clocks shutting down in extreme heat.
  4. Hah wow I feel old (and I'm only 31). Nah you can still float a check. I was actually trying to pay my bill on a Saturday knowing that my direct deposit goes through on Monday. I've done it before and was trying to again, heh.
  5. If you are ok with getting rid of your phone (whether for an SIII or new EVO) try a factory reset first. I was having random issues with it and was getting quite frustrated. I did a factory reset and now my phone operates, well, simply amazing. Yeah I lost my progress with some games but that was about it since I sync most content with Google I was able to get it back right away. I'm very happy with the result and you may want to try it too. (This is of course assuming you haven't; if you have tried this, ignore my post ) The only con I've encountered is that I lost Flash player, and while most sites use HTML5 now, some still stream video using Flash.
  6. Interesting. It never even occured to me that the 3G light might not mean EVDO even though that makes total sense. Good point; I'll use Phono next time to get the details.
  7. So I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this issue. I have done automatic bill pay with my account from ING Direct for the better part of two years. In September, I stopped because I needed a little flexibility. Well, this month I go to make a one-time payment with Sprint from my checking account and bam, transaction declined by TeleCheck. I know that I had no bounced checks so I was confused. Upon calling TeleCheck, they said it was because i was trying to submit too high of a payment ($200) with no history on their end, and that they show no outstanding problems other than a lack of history. TeleCheck says they show only one payment via check with my ING Direct account over two years ago. Does anyone know if Sprint has recently signed up with TeleCheck? It was frustrating to say the least, to be denied making a payment with an account I've used forever with Sprint, after only a four-month hiatus. Must be new? Smaller amounts of $25 and $75 (at their recommendation) were approved with the balance going on my debit card. So odd....
  8. Yeah, seriously. What's the point? And if you have those devices already, it says you have to use the special branded SKUs that go along with the pay as you go version and can not activate a post-paid device. To be honest, EVDO 3G roaming is terrible to begin with. Speeds are terrible, more like 1XRTT, at least they always have been for me.
  9. Though this is what intrigues me... his description of his Twitter feed has changed from being a mole to never having worked for them... DISCLAIMER: ISN is in no way related to 'Sprint' the company, this is 100% Satire/Parody. You mad, bro? Hard to fire someone who never worked for you, huh.
  10. You know I was really excited to see him post documents and open up Sprint with the delay of the latest EVO, but that was when I was just really starting to look at online forums about Sprint and LTE. It led me to Good and Evo and S4GRU. I wasn't even thinking of the implications for this site by him returning, and well, yeah, maybe he should go back into hiding. Let's hope he doesn't damage anything good like S4GRU.
  11. Same here. I don't even remember how I happened on his/her Twitter page, but when I saw "6m" for a post, I had to triple-check to see if it really was six minutes before haha. I wonder what will come now.
  12. Looks like ISN is alive... http://twitter.com/insidesprintnow
  13. Awesome to hear!!! I think the tower next to my apartment just went 3G NV (I'm in East Harlem) now getting under 80ms ping and near 1MB down/up. NYC is moving along!
  14. That actually sounds like a pretty awesome idea. I'd love to know who my fellow NYC Sponsors are as well.
  15. Unbelievable, hahahaha. It really is too bad she didn't try to interview those in line about these amazing feaures.
  16. Yeah I was thinking that too. I miss how on WiMax the 4G icon had its own signal strength indicator, like the WiFi indicator. They really should bring it back in some form so people can see how strong or weak their LTE signal really is.
  17. I do have to agree. Your use is probably the common denominator here. Is there an app installed on all of your devices that is causing this? Heavy widget use? I'm a stock user and stick to pretty solidly rated and popular apps (even though I have 85 apps and counting) and rarely have a Sense reload problem, maybe five times total since I've gotten the EVO 4G LTE.
  18. I'm actually amazed with the update. Movement between the home screens is seamless, the browser is faster, and battery life has improved dramatically. I left my phone unplugged and was checking it every 15 minutes or so, forgetting to turn the screen off here and there, and after 3 hours the battery was still at 94%. I did notice something interesting regarding the device looking for a LTE signal. I live in NYC and whenever I notice I'm connected to a NV tower (because the speeds are dramatically better -- not being sarcastic -- on NV 3G, and ping times under 50ms) I used to try to switch between CDMA only and CDMA/LTE. When going back to CDMA/LTE the 3G icon always disappeared for a few seconds, and then came back. More recently some NV towers had the 3G icon disappear for over 10 seconds, making me think it was actually broadcasting LTE but blocked, trying to verify access. I even once got a data access error message. Now post update, the 3G icon doesn't go away when looking for LTE, and I'm assuming this will be a battery saver. I obviously could be wrong and don't know a ton about the network infrastructure, but this was all through deduction.
