Also, this may sound crazy, but recently my home icons at the bottom of the home screen are much larger than the other icons. Did this happen to anyone else? Maybe a background update of something?

Are radios controlled by firmware and not the OS? Maybe marshmallow redid the radio firmware that a reinstallation of Lollipop wouldn't touch. Just a thought.

You can just call and ask for it. Tell them you're experimenting with a setting only accessible with the MSL, if they even ask. If you don't get it, just call back and speak to someone else. They're pretty open with giving out MSL numbers now. I have them for every device I currently and formerly have just by simply calling.

Good to know it happens overnight too. Though, saturation shouldn't affect ping times AFAIK, but correct me if I'm wrong. I've gotten <1 mbps at events with ping times still under 50ms. It's unfortunate that it's happening here. I do know the site that finally went LTE microwaves to another site on the Concourse, so maybe there's problems with the microwave backhaul.

I'm noticing improvements too, except around Tremont/3rd Ave in the Bronx. you're in that area sometimes, right? After LTE went live it was good for a short bit, but now speeds are < 2mbps normally, and ping times are always > 250ms. I've submitted network reports through Sprint Zone, and was thinking it was a short-term thing, but it's been a few months now. Are you noticing this too?

A user on the board I follow for subways (www.subchat.com) reported he was able to keep a phone call going express from 71st Ave to Roosevelt Ave. I know Transit Wireless had talked about directing signals down tunnels but that stretch of the Queens Boulevard line is pretty twitsy. Maybe they're expanding their DAS to include tunnels? Not sure how the WiFi would work otherwise. I know on the E from 7th Ave to 14th Street I've been able to keep a data signal but aside from the turn from 7th to 50th, that part of the line is a pretty straight shot. Needless to say, this is pretty cool and it'd be great if data was in the tunnels.

The new "free hotspot" feature has screwed me over.

There are other service providers out there... but I don't know of a single one that allows unlimited Hotspot. If you only use 5 to 15 gigs a month, consider moving *off* an unlimited plan. I have three lines and went to a 20GB plan (actually 40GB because it was a double data promo) and *all* 40GB are available for tethering. Without violating the ToS. -
That is pretty cool to hear. Though, it'd be nice if FiOS could get into my building... hah.

So, I was waiting for the bus at 86th and 3rd, and decided to connect to these hot spots that are replacing phone booths. I wanted to see how fast this "ultra fast" wifi really was... and I was impressed. I got 229 down and 214 up. Granted, that was standing within five feet of it, and who knows how many people were really connected. The ISP says "CityBridge" and I'm guessing it's Verizon who is the backhaul since they are former phone booths, but who knows. I picked it up all up 3rd ave between 86th and 96th. It shows that maybe, just maybe, we can wire light poles with ease like we're hoping, for small cell deployment.

So I have LTE again, but Sprint's DNS servers are down, so the connection is pointless. Should be back up any time now, I'm guessing. Edit: I'm in the Bronx right now south of Fordham Plaza.

Just came here to see if I was alone. No LTE here, and only 1X for voice/data, or EVDO (rarely). East Harlem through the South Bronx and now near 3rd and Tremont.

Last night on MetroNorth from Tremont to Harlem, I got 63 down near 149th/Park, and 79 down near Harlem/125th. It was simply amazing. I'm even getting B41 CA *INSIDE* my school, when before I was stuck on EVDO or 1X. Really getting excited/happy with this progress. One thing I've noticed is that when connected to certain Sprint B41 CA sites over the past few days, I have <1 Mbps down, and ping times >250ms. I'm confident it's temporary based on the other amazing progress happening, but it is odd.

Maybe a third for Manhattan... at Union Square on Friday I got both 41078 and 41276, both swapping as primary carriers, with CA.

I'm near Union Square and had 41276 as my primary carrier and 41078 as the second carrier. It wasn't for too long (10 minutes) before they reversed but it was cool to see. I won't be near a computer for a while no screenshots until then. Actually right now while waiting for my doctor 41276 is primary and 41078 is secondary.

Looking forward to coming back to CA in NYC. I'm on vacation in Fort Lauderdale this week and was pulling 90 down on B41 here. I live next to a Clear site though, so hopefully I can report CA when I get home this afternoon. Awesome to read about all this progress so quickly.

Woke up to 41078 in East Harlem coming from a former Clear site (was 39991 last night). Had it all the way up the Bruckner Expressway onto the Sheridan, right up until near the Cross Bronx/Sheridan where it changed to 41276.

When I was in Boston and New Hampshire, it put a little 2 next to the Sprint B41, like an exponent.
