Your city is probably one of the next markets to get AT&T LTE too. I was surprised to find out Rapid City was HSPA-only for its relatively large size. Many small towns in Oklahoma have LTE from AT&T now, even areas where they lack 700mhz spectrum (using AWS I assume).

This will help me get to the engineering screen on my iPad. I've been planning to switch to Sprint for the $15 2 gig plan for a while. Now I can track the 800mhz lte deployment.

Their explanations for the lower tiers are priceless.....

I use Google voice to make up for issues like that (only having WiFi in some areas). Since my number is with them I can see if I've missed a call and can text without cell service. If you have a way to port out without an ETF Google voice can fix that issue (at the expense of MMS and group texting functionality)

If you're serious, please go back to fighting the VZW and AT&T trolls elsewhere. If not, welcome to S4GRU

No, that would be a Sprint thing. Sprint always requests that phone makers do that. Many of us would really prefer they didnt.

As I have observed, with a faster more reliable connection data usage goes up. Since Tulsa got LTE for most of the area, I've seen each of my family members data use roughly triple. My brother now uses around 9 gigs a month where he used to use 2-3. My dad's usage has skyrocketed from 300mb or less to 4-5 gigs (probably because he now trusts that streaming will work).

LTE 1900 expansion

I think LTE in the PCS B-Block may be live at my cabin. I can attach to it through my Wilson signal booster which only operates in PCS A-F (and I didn't used to be able to back when LTE first went live on some of the cell sites covering the area) I'll have to get an engineering screen to confirm. -

Are you having issues with VZW or did you just want to try AT&T (it looks like they're HSPA only there) ? Are there other carriers in Rapid City? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD -
We may have a PCS A-F LTE site in Locust Grove, my mom's iPhone 5C is connecting to LTE through my wilson signal booster at my cabin (which historically has never worked!)

Sprint Will Not Participate in H Block Auction

Supposedly AT&T has agreed to support spectrum interoperability in the 700mhz band which seemed to signal the addition of band 12 to their devices in the future. I'll try to find a source for you after I get back from this football game (it may not be long, we're losing badly). -
At my cabin, the USCC phone does it everytime I go indoors. I can catch a US Cellular native signal outside but inside it would be no service without it (same goes for VZW). The only cellular signals that are strong enough to enter parts of the house are AT&T's HSPA and T-Mobile GPRS/EDGE networks (which really just connect and only work when your not holding them). The house is right at the edge of a cellular 850 license boundary and in a very rural area which means there is little incentive or means for a cellular 850 licensee to serve the area (meaning very marginal USCC, or VZW signal (which is actually PCS in this case)). It's an extreme case and thats why I'm able to test all of this. I wish someone would install a small cell or repeater in the neighborhood (hint hint, Sprint).

When there is absolutely no native signal or roaming CDMA available, US Cellular and Verizon devices will roam onto an airave but it will keep looking for another network and will pick up that other network even if it is with an unusable signal. So, generally, if the airave is being used in an extremely low signal area (for all CDMA providers), then yes VZW and USCC devices will roam onto it but if any and I mean any other CDMA signal is available they will not. I would look at resell prices and what sprint charges then buy the phone that nets you the largest difference then use that to buy a play store nexus 5 and pocket what's left over. Do the math and it might be worth your while.

'02 Toyota Camry - (bad engine rebuild, vibrates like crazy and needs a new water pump every 5-6000 miles) I plan to get a 2014 Mazda 6 soon. If I had $100000 burning a hole in my pocket I would get either a Tesla Model S or Model X.

LTE Cell Booster
lynyrd65 replied to bullfighter 99's topic in Network, Network Vision/LTE Deployment
Wilson Sleek 4G claims to but I didn't get nearly as much of a signal boost from it for LTE (basically nothing) as I do for 3G (which it does very well). -

Botched install We've had one in the Tulsa area. Thankfully other sites were upgraded around it to reduce the impact. Call Sprint and report it.
