  1. They use whatever conforms to their specs for the best value which could include copper based mediums like coax cable. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk 2

  3. Try toggling airplane mode to see if it also toggles 800 for you. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk 2
  4. I was really hoping that post would cause AJ to either confirm or rebuke my speculation.....
  5. T-Mobile's problem is establishing sufficient backhaul to all of those rural sites. Commend Sprint for not taking the easy way out, for going the extra mile and extending next generation backhaul to its rural sites alongside all others in one Network Vision fell swoop. AJ Its could also be AWS. I hear that due to lower allowed transmission power it has a reduced coverage radius compared to PCS. AWS HSPA+ or LTE on their current rural sites with their PCS spacing would produce small coverage islands of AWS with customers constantly moving in and out of service on the highway. PCS HSPA+, however should be pretty close to their current EDGE network coverage with the same number of sites. I'm starting to think AWS UMTS was what was holding T-Mobile back from adding new high speed coverage along highways and in rural areas. I think with the PCS refarm we may see a widescale deployment in rural areas. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk 2
  6. Stock US Cellular Galaxy S 4 ROM (rooted deodexed and debloated) Transparent status bar mod LTE icon mod Android Weather and Clock Widget (see market) I can get you links after work, the mods may work for the Sprint variant also.
  7. No, I just drew it out of you! The AT&T version has been confirmed but not a Sprint variant....... Until now
  8. I bet it will be the Galaxy S 4 Active. It wouldn't make too much sense to have two of nearly the exact same phone floating around that are indistinguishable except by model number.

  10. I wondered what the plan was there. Their current antennas only support 2x2 MIMO. They look prettier. I guess, to T-Mobile, form trumps function. I have no idea how they will be able to double the antennas they have, most sites around here look full (out of space for new antennas).
  11. A niche market with 75% market share Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  12. Ooo thats what AT&T said. In effect you kill the natural growth of data use doing that. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  13. no. Mostly the same footprint as their existent HSPA+ networks. I suspect in the no too distant future we'll see an anouncement from t-mobile comitting to expand their "4G" HSPA+ to rural areas. They wont be able to stay competitive with Sprint for long otherwise. They will probably expand LTE also but their sites are spaced for PCS and adding AWS LTE to these sites would make for LTE coverage islets. More sites would be needed for coverage parity Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  14. ESTP by a very slight margin in every category with extravert being the greatest at 11%. I am probably one of the most conflicted individuals on earth and I may be almost insane but I'm fine with that. Its who I am. Sent from my SCH-R950 using Tapatalk 2
  15. It's working great for me The end of Band 12 is news to me. I've heard that USCC was planning to add band 5 to the mix for more coverage and iPhone compatibility but that their current expansion plans have been scrapped is new. Do you have a source?
  16. If Sprint makes good on its promise to replace Huawei gear (many protection sites), then it seems possible (why would you only add Samsung gear for the WiMax?) Sent from my SCH-R950 using Tapatalk 2
  17. Most sites in that area are upgraded and broadcasting LTE. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk 2
  18. It would be nice to have sites for AT&T and T-Mobile similar to this one. This site can help people get great information on Sprint's progress, but it can be misleading without as much information on the other carriers. Sprint might have half the users as AT&T, but they probably have considerably more people mapping sensorly for them because of this site. The info in the sponsors section goes way beyond anything I've seen for any carrier. It's difficult to accurately assess which carrier is best for you when you have a lot of future information on one (e.g. Sprint towers in progress) and not even accurate present-day info on others (e.g. very few people actively mapping sensorly for AT&T). I happen to be in Michigan and have a grandfathered plan with Sprint, so the decision is easy for me: Great coverage with Verizon for almost 2 and a half times the price, no nearby LTE with AT&T for twice the price, or no rural coverage with T-Mobile for about the same price. Needing rural coverage and with the explosion of Sprint LTE in my county I'll stay with them. But if I lived in New York or Washington state or Tennessee it'd be hard to choose without a TMO4GRU.com and ATTLTEtowersightings.com. The only reason this site continues to exists because Sprint is not AT&T. AT&T or VZW would sue to shut down a site like this one. The only carriers that arent opposed to sites like this are competitive carriers but even some of them might also sue a site like this. The continued existence of this site, the policy towards demanding unlocked bootloaders from device oems, and their close integration of google products really are a testament to Sprint's proconsumer stance. AT&T is the exact opposite. Rather than find new ways to innovate and give the consumer more, they are constantly finding new ways to charge customers more for less service and lock down their devices like fort knox. 20. Could a device be created with enough antennas/amps/etc to support 600(maybe)/700/750/800/850/1700/1900/2100/2300/2500? Not to mention the potential of Dish 2200 LTE. Due to the varying spectrum used, I don't think you'll ever see a device that can used used on any US carrier... Maybe not all of the bands but at least the mid to low bands for coverage. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk 2
  21. The only tech I wish death on is iden. CDMA has coverage performance advantages over LTE you dont realize until you go to a low signal area where only 1xRTT will function. I hope cdma sticks around but i am excited for the VoLTE future potentially uniting all American carriers to a single roaming footprint. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk 2
  22. My other carrier, US Cellular. They have a good amount of coverage in the plains area (tons where I live) and intend to build out to cover most of their footprint with band 12 LTE service. The carriers that use band 12 are among the last holdout regional carriers not to be owned by the big four. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  23. As long as T-Mobile offers unlimited I wouldn't count on the term "unlimited" going away. There is a chance that they might throttle after a certain amount while still calling it unlimited like AT&T. However, with LTE being deployed on sites with 1900 spacing and fewer customers than the big two, I bet it will be a while after NV 1.0 is completed before we see slowdowns. When sites get to capacity on 1900 I see TD-LTE being deployed to take care of it.
