  1. I wouldn't think so either, James; unless our new masters in Japan are in a rush to catch up with the Evil Axis; they might gamble with a few po'd wimax consumers like myself if they thought it would shave a year off the true potential of NV; I would consider myself collateral damage in this as I use wimax every day
  2. "Money's for Nothin and Your Chicks are free"...free Mifi's and no contract..whoa...whoa..Greeks bearing gifts among us..AJ, you must have a video or song for this..whatsup with that!...get people off of Wimax, when in my case, I'll have no LTE love for mostly likely another year hear at the house..yeah in launched markets sounds like a good marketing tool but in BIG places like OC and SD Cali LTE from what I read here is still a hit-or-miss thing! Please ol Sprint don't take my wimax away until LTE is solid!! I still agree with those of you that think Sprint had something to do with this. It's the cheapest and easiest way to get people off the WiMax network by letting them have a free MiFi without a contract. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5 using Tapatalk 2
  3. Looking to do the same thing in two weeks, deep; did Sprint insist on an activation fee for the upgrade?
  4. +1 Like Eric I still depend heavily on Wimax and have two devices and no LTE in sight here in Henderson NV.. so bring on LTE and I'll gladly give up my Wimax devices
  5. Re-listen to Eric Clapton's mega hit from 1993: "Runnin on Faith"
  6. Gambling & prostitution go back thousands of years even before the time of the Roman Empire; gambling is legal just about everywhere if you include lotterys; Wall Street has become a Fed inspired casino; so gambling has become pervasive in our economies and as I mentioned earlier there is loads of collateral damage associated with it; Nevada being dead last in educational scoring is just one metric that comes to mind...but hey, Robert, come on home..we'll make room for ya! Maybe you could light a fire under our NV/LTE rollout for us (to subtely move back to topic)
  7. Yup, Josh, couldn't agree more..but LV AND Calif (read Indian Casinos) depend HEAVILY on this voluntary form of taxation for their very existence..lots of collateral damage along the way..but hey..being a Sprint cellular junkie keeps me busy and out of their clutches...so bring on LTE fast!
  8. New York...nah...definitely Vegas first, baby..got to keep sin, gambling & drinking going strong..that requires excellent cellular communications to all your sin providers..New York just needs subways and lots of deoderant
  9. This thread seems to have turned into a referendum on the new plans as well as the competitiveness of Sprint in general; with an upgrade for me just 2 weeks away I don't really know what I'm going to do with these plan choices; like many we rarely use 450 voice minutes so why have unlimited talk time; what most of us need is cheaper data rates and honestly I just don't see cheaper data for us in the future with the vast proliferation of smart phones & tablets taking over the pc space and making video streaming on a mobile device a reality for millions of people; so for now I'll stay put on the old plans (if they will let me at upgrade time)
  10. My congrats go out to all you Clearwire stock holders...I'm very happy (and envious) for you; you held on thru some really dark times..enjoy your reward and buy all the rest of us cowards (who should have bought shares) a drink or two! This is a great day for Sprint and the beginning of the end of the evil duopoly
  11. I'm two months away from an eligible upgrade and 6 months away from my contract being up..I'm "Runnin on Faith" right now that this circus cluster frock going on now with Sprint Dish & Clear will be in sharper focus one way or another by Dec; I can say that thanx to the 3G NV upgrades in my area my wife & I have never had better voice coverage than we do now..what really counts for me now is if this referenced circus cf will slow down the NV rollout to the point where I am forced to decide between T-MO and ATT..if forced to vote now I'd probably go with Boost Pre paid for voice and just use a hotspot for data until sanity & clarity prevail..
  12. Friend..coffee like good quality customer service is NEVER EVER free..sometimes it just seems so
  13. Wouldn't make me happy; I use Wimax daily at the house here in the LV area and we are probably a good year from having full NV rolled out (unless Uncle Charlie mucks things up); I lose Wimax w/o LTE I have two devices that suddenly go dark..I really don't expect Sprint to GIVE me a GS4 for my GS2 when Wimax goes dark, btw...maybe an incentive but not a freebe
  14. Probably a little off the flow of this thread BUT in keeping with the TITLE of this thread I have to comment that I've had dealings with Sprint CS lately on two occasions where the service & end-result I've achieved couldn't be better...over the last couple of years Sprints CS (not chat, mind you) has gotten significantly better along with the know-how of the folks on the other end of the phone; I mostly avoid chat for the reasons discussed many places here and in other forums..sorry to the OP for his troubles..sometimes sheet happens
  15. In keeping with the music themes (AJ) and Frays cartoon I offer Eric Claptons mega-hit "Running on Faith" from Unplugged in 1993; thats what many of us loyal Sprint subs are doing right now; guess we are all waiting on the river card in this hi-stakes game being played out
  16. Boy thats a long outtage and I'm sure the wife & I would have noticed and been affected by it...so for us , no, no outtage
  17. This is a pic I took BEFORE the upgrade..is Clearwire 1 rung below the Sprint upgraded equipment? Would Sprint LTE and Wimax share the same tower?
  18. Alcatel-Lucent equipment--me thinks..4 PCS & 2 SMR per antenna; I still wonder about the backhaul for this upgrade; the dish appears to be for another carrier..
  19. What is the significant of 6 rf cables pray tell?
  20. Yahoo...looks like the Vivaldi Park tower got upgraded this past week; here are the photos; would the experts (Robert, AJ, Josh et al) weigh in and interpret these photos for me and others; the upgrades are at the top of the tower and at the moment there is NO LTE signal coming from it; lift is still there so I'll swing by tomorrow to see if work is continuing; also it may be waiting for backhaul as there is only one dish at the site
  21. Visiting here from Las Vegas this weekend; SD is my second home city going back to the 70's; no 4G LTE where I am in Oceanside but the 3G is WAY faster than when I was here in February..so something has changed here with NV; 3G downloads this AM were close to 2 mbs; speeds I've never seen before with 3G; 3G is also way better at my house in Henderson...go NV
  22. All very puzzling indeed; perhaps Dish thinks it has a better chance getting Spectrum if Clear IS forced into bankruptcy and as a bonus delays if not derails the Sprint rollout of NV; all that makes sense to me is that DISH seems to be very worried that Sprint will succeed with NV thus in the future making Dish and its vision of the future irrelevant; someone above used the term "desperate";that's what this is..
