  1. Wow...we'll see...all I've noticed around here (Anthem) is that 3G keeps getting stronger & stronger at the house; saw -63 rssi this am best ever in the 10 years we have lived here; I'd be ecstatic if we had a few LTE sensorly splashes here by late summer; no progress at all on the towers around me that I have been watching
  2. Respectfully, AJ, there will be no where to go...as I have opined in other threads Sprint will not be able to continue unlimited data speeds plans in the future....LTE speeds will enable overuse for sure on all the big 4 carriers..can't you see everyone wanting to Skype on their smartphones or watch videos? This discussion is much to do about nothing, IMHO
  3. Yes...but my wife will kill me if I get it early..but then a month later she'llbe using it all the time and I get the dumb phone to carry around all the time..that's what happened when I got the S2
  4. In the final analysis what is going on with Big Red and it's speed drops is eventually going to happen to all; it's just phsyics; you just can't have everyone streaming videos on their handsets all day long; there is tower, spectrum and power hard stops to all of this and Sprint (us) will benefit for awhile when NV is eventually rolled out but even Sprint won't be able to keep unlimited data plans in the end; too many people will stream over to join the party; capped data plans are in all our futures, IMHO. Really now, who wants to run Netflix on their S4 to watch the last season of Weeds? Some might...not me.. some need the speed for work I'll grant but the majority just want faster facebook /YouTube downloads
  5. I've been with Sprint since early 2000; Nextel push to talk early phones; big V was in its infancy, et al; here in the LV valley Wimax has been a hit & miss proposition first with an Epic & then with my S2; I never really have enjoyed 4G like we will havewith LTE when it becomes a reality; but I have had patience (not so with my wife) and come August when my contract is up I'm hoping Sprint will be far along here with the NV update..I'm putting off getting an LTE phone till then..so for me having rock solid 3G now for voice has won my wife back and I feel from that angle waiting has been worth it....I just don't see us downloading mega GB's of videos on the S4 that I have my eye on..but who knows..waiting has allowed me to keep my unlimited data plan..If Sprint reneges on that then waitingmight not have been too smart
  6. Maybe a bit off-topic for this thread..but I've never understood why LTE at 1900 MHz will be any better at building penetration than Wimax was???? Pray tell as you mentioned signal strength; are LTE signals going to be that much stronger than Wimax at 1900 Mhz?
  7. Here in the far South & East of the LV valley in Henderson (btw, neither filthy or rich) my Sierra Wireless Tri-Fi Hotspot from Sprint for the first time picked up an extremely faint LTE signal; maybe in test mode..I dunno; I've also wondered about the shorter cylindrical towers how they could outfit them with LTE pods I've seen on the photos posted here??? The three towers near me VG60XC339 and VG54XC220 are about 30 feet high cylinders with no side attachments at all..but I am getting pretty decent WiMax at the house so there must be some 4G electronics in these missiles
  8. Great...what cross-streets approximately? I'll be over there this coming weekend and plan on being in Carlsbad
  9. 3G speeds near the mts here vary greatly in the house; generally 1 mbit and below;further down the hill into Green Valley they improve, however; 3G call quality on my S2 has improved markedly over the last year or so at the house: I'll check out the sponsor info as it would be nice to have that info you mentioned
  10. Just arrived here but been lurking awhile; I live in Henderson under the Black Mts and a large Sprint tower; I'll endeavor to add LTE info as I get it; right now I'm using Wimax on a Tri-Fi Sprint Hotspot..patiently waiting for LTE to arrive; thanx to all who contribute to this site...it is great!
