  1. They must have gotten plenty of notice over the past 1+ year? Did they just ignore it?
  2. You can see which are which by viewing the various maps for the market, although you will need to be a sponsor and I believe in the premier sponsor section is a map for which are Ground Mount and which are full build.
  3. i got T.5.3.4.18 update the other day. Not entirely sure what it addresses. This is on the Photon Q.
  4. i am surprised a 12 year old would be given an iPhone.
  5. How come they can go on the full build sites but not GMO when the entire area seems to be in the IBEZ? I thought something special had to happen between the two governments?
  6. speeds in the area are definitely better now. Being that this was a 4th round market I am surprised they got such a huge jump on this market. What a bummer about the delay for the 800 mhz rollout (as this area REALLY needs it) but I hope that can be dealt with at some point.
  7. more than likely just a new block purchased by Sprint that has not updated to all of the databases yet. no big deal.
  8. ISPs wont be monitoring usage. The copyright trolls will be watching torrents just as they always have and forwarding the notices on to the ISPs to take corrective action towards you.
  9. i remember when the airaves first came out quite a few years ago they were not supposed to be used in certain areas of the country. i know it was locations out west but i cant remember for the life of me what the company was called that operated in the area but they were like a sprint authorized affiliate or something.
  10. I have seen discssion on SprintUsers of Sprint requesting the unit back after it had been unplugged for several months. Honestly I cant blame them for asking for it back if it isnt going to get used.
  11. i used to have this problem on my Epic 4G. Has been awhile so I cant remember what the fix was. Are you connected to an Airave by chance? I do remember certain activations would not work when connected to an Airave.
  12. Honestly, i think you will still connect to it...just you will receive an error when you try to make any calls which puts you in worse shape than you are in. I believe the error states something to the effect of connecting to a sprint private network. Back when the airave first came out, users complained of not being able to make any calls when in range of an airave that had been locked down. Shortly after, sprint disabled these settings. I think your neighbor would be better off lowering the strength of their unit. I think there is three power settings.
  13. when did they finally fix the blocking settings? Also, wont you still connect to the neighbors but be restricted from making calls through it?
  14. Notice it says up to on the data side if you want to experience the max EVDO data speeds. it will function with just about any US cable / dsl packages just fine. besides, that would not affect simply getting the unit registered. i have a friend using his on a 768 kbps DSL connection just fine.
  15. Sounds like LTE on 800 has been moved up quite a bit: "On the same call, Sprint President of Network Operations Steve Elfman stated the company's plan to deploy LTE on 800MHz has been bumped up to the fourth quarter of this year" http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/Sprint-Acknowledges-Network-Upgrades-Behind-Schedule-123059
  16. The unit needs a VPN connection which some routers do not handle well. DMZ gets rid of the headaches (or most of them). I am not sure what is wrong with your setup but utilizing your broadban connection to 100% capacity should not cause your airave to be taken offline like that. Possibly your router is croaking under the immense amount of connections being made via torrents.
  17. add the unit as "DMZ" in your router to rule out any router type issues.
  18. All Sprint PRLs have 3G roaming, in fact, that is all they do. 1x is a 3G technology from all the tech stuff I have read. EVDO is just the next evolution of it.
  19. What is this SOAK team you speak of? is it connected to the Sprint official forums or?
  20. how did you get it so quick? the build date on it is only December 3rd..doesnt leave much room for testing and making its way through the various channels before it gets out to end users like you through the update process.
  21. the most recent software update going around now (which i installed this morning) may have fixed this conneciton dropping issue.
  22. Is it possible they would keep a portion of that network running for roaming revenue? Several years back, Verizon bought Unicel (a GSM based provider) and they kept that network online simply for the roaming revenue.
  23. this issue ticks me off to no end. i can say with certainty that it always happens when i need to look up something in a pinch and i need to sit there and cycle airplane mode with the hope that doing that will fix it.
  24. Just low latency? Think of it this way, if we take a generally low latency connection, say a cable modem, and set the defined speed caps in the modem to that of dial up (56k)..how well will netflix or even facebook work on a low latency connection then? Despite the low latency, they would certainly not appear fast given how these services are developed for "high" bandwidth throughput.
