  1. A large problem is them advertising no overages, BUT really charging for overages. Right now, if you have a 2GB data plan, and you go over, the speed gets reduced to less than edge speeds. In the new plan, the high speed, keeps going and you get charged $10 for each fraction of 2GB. No,the plan doesn't come with 500MB of free tethering, they come with a data allotment of 500MB, where you can use on your phone or tether. Nothing is free.
  2. I see T-mobile losing even more customers by doing these changes. They are now charging the costs of what a other cell companies charge, one with a much large network that isn't stuck on Edge/GPRS speeds outside of large cities. They are doing similar upgrades as Sprint, just upgrading their existing towers and not improving their coverage. It might drive down the cost of the cell phones, or at least show us the true cost of them.
  3. T-Mobile just raised all prices to that of the current level with the device subsidy, but without giving a subsidy. It looks like each line has its price raised $20 to $25. Plus they added "no overages", which I don't understand, as they charge you $10 per 2GB, after you go over 500MB. This makes Sprint's plans look a lot better.
  4. They removed tons of coverage in my area too. They need to use another colour besides green for the roaming coverage, when all 4 shades of green aren't visible at the same time, its hard to figure which is which.
  5. Consumers want what they are sold, if they are sold unlimited, then that is what they expect. Most consumers don't know what a bit, nibble, byte actually are and they will never understand. My at&t work phone costs my company $45 per month, unlimited LTE data, unlimited sms, 450 minutes daytime minutes, plus n&w. They do have thousands of lines. I wish I could get this plan.
  6. I don't think so. $264 over a 2-year contract, plus $150-$200 per claim.
  7. Maybe this is the start. I think a graduated overage system, similar to how T-Mobile works could work better. I know AJ seems to think that people shouldn't allowed to use data on phones or data on planes, even if we pay for it.
  8. I have a few times, I found that I had to keep the email in the inbox and not in another folder.
  9. Using this phone with AT&T, its really nice, very fast interface, much faster than my Gnex. I have both phones using a single google voice inbox, the same app on both phones.
  10. For that money, you could build your own neighbourhood.
  11. You get 12 gogo flight coupons included with new chromebook purchases. Is it only video streaming that doesn't work? What about google talk text messaging or google hangouts? Something to pass the time. I used the ebay app on a nexus7 a few weeks ago on a Delta flight (horrible airline, not for people over 5 ft tall), was quite speedy. I'm going to find the same flight as AJ and plays games like farmville!
  12. I chose the Samsung for its battery life, I know Netflix doesn't work on it. The Acer has upgradable RAM past the 2GB which increases the speed, plus the 320 GB HD can be changed to a SSD if needed. I like how it powers up in less than a few seconds, they keyboard is really nice. I surprisingly got used to the two finger page scrolling. I can use the 12 gogo wifi coupons to play on the work flights too. A fun little toy. The remote desktop to my desktop pc works ok too.
  13. Which model did you get? I just got the Samsung $249 one, pretty nice. The main problems I have with it, is the poor angle of viewing and the power charger port, that thing is begging to be snapped. Get your 100GB drive space. http://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/devices/goodies.html Install the DoNotTrackMe chrome extension. .
  14. The micro USB port is an awful design, I thought that the mini USB was a lot easier to use. I know that a single port standard was mandated by the EU, but I wish they selected a better port, the Apple new one is nice.
  15. Sprint email support is really poor. I sent them a clear email, tried to not make it too technical. I included few goo.gl short cut image links to the roaming indicator and settings, and how the phone firmware is defective, and how it is causing me to get charged international data roaming. They did not look at the goo.gl image links, as google lets you see how many times it was clicked. I really don't think they read my email message. I linked to their support site. Which shows how to disable/enable data roaming. http://support.sprint.com/support/tutorial/Turn_Roaming_On_or_Off_Samsung_Galaxy_Nexus_4G_LTE/37165-1167 , page 5. I shall keep trying though.
  16. I was in incorporated Kent this weekend. That 4g signal must be that new tower placed there last year. Did a speed test, max down was 2.4, pings in the hundreds. The 3g to 4g to 3g signal hand off wasn't transparent, the data connection broke, the 3g was evdo. So quite a way to go yet.
  17. What difference does it make for a user if a carrier implements a single 10x10 vs multiple 5x5? If its a location with many users, we won't notice the difference, right?
  18. No DMZ is needed. No special configuration is needed in your router. Plug the Airave WAN port into a LAN port of your router. Reset it like mentioned above. If you are using your internet connection 100% by watching a video or bit torrent, the mobile light will go red.
  19. I noticed in Federal Way I don't see any eHRPD mentions in the status anymore, just EVDO/RTT.
  20. So very true. They don't understand the more little small towers, the better, the less 'harmful' radio signals.
  21. Log into your online account, make sure it is listed as a device. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, it mostly works. The Sprint-Airave tcp/ip network does break quite a lot.
  22. That is the checkin number that I have only ever used for Nexus phones, the one listed above. *#*#CHECKIN#*#*
