  1. It's a little tricky until you get used to it. I think so. Because my E4GT started to allow that after I upgraded it to ICS too. Robert

  3. Also Power + VOL Down works on EVOlte. Robert via Galaxy Nexus using Forum Runner
  4. It could be. The EVO managed to get released almost a month early. I'm sure this device is capable of getting released that far ahead too. Robert via Galaxy Nexus using Forum Runner

  6. Beamforming is more expensive in design, deployment and operationally. The design has to be extremely accurate and the install has to be perfectly done. The amount of panels it takes to do 360 coverage from a site is a minimum of 15, but could be even higher. Whereas a conventional deployment may have one or two per sector, for a total of 3 or 6. That is a lot of increased material and labor cost in deployment. Operationally, it costs more per radio to run beamforming than a conventional signal, and also, with the multiplier of more panels/radios equals a significant operational cost increase. So wireless carriers believe beamforming is not an option at this time because they hold on to hope of having copious amounts of cheap to deploy low and mid frequency spectrum. In reality, there is not a spectrum crisis as it's being presented by VZW and ATT. There is a scarcity of cheap and easy to deploy spectrum. With cell splitting, Pico and Micro cells and higher frequency use through beamforming, we have lots more spectrum to exploit for the next 10 years without raiding other sources. 7. I think there is a miscommunication. If the reason why it doesn't support 850 Cellular is because of a software issue, it would still be proper to say it does not support 850MHz. So the use of "not true" is probably not the best response, because it is true, but further explanation should have been used by the poster (assuming if he knew the reason). On another note, the downlink frequencies of 824-849 are 850 Cellular. Below that is the 800 SMR band. We typically refer to 800 and 800MHz as only the SMR band and Cellular frequencies as 850 and 850MHz to avoid confusion. Some people still refer to Cellular bands as 800, but thankfully that use is starting to fade away. The last offender I have seen of that is Apple with the CDMA iPhones that say they support 800, when in fact they only support 850 Cellular. I have almost one post a month around here where someone with an iPhone thinks that it supports Sprint's 800 SMR band. They are very disappointed when they find out it does not. 9. OK...this is probably not a big deal to most of you. But ever since I upgraded my E4GT a few months ago to ICS, I haven't been able to access my DEBUG menu. Which for me is a big deal. I live in that screen! The Debug Screen is where wireless nerds hang out to see what channel they are on, look at their Mac Index, check out their Ec/Io ratio, etc. However, when I upgraded to ICS on my E4GT, it asked for me to enter a lock code. I assumed this was the MSL Code, which all Samsung devices have required to access debug screens in the past...but alas, no. For months I have been searching for a work around, perusing forums, scouring developer comments and I haven't found anything. That is, until today. THE ICS DEBUG LOCK CODE IS: 777468 It works on both my Galaxy Nexus and Epic 4G Touch. I went to try it on my EVO LTE, but the debug menu there isn't locked with a code. It may work in other ICS ROMs and devices too. Sound off below if you find it works in other places. Special thanks to BigRushDog on XDA who posted the solution. And for those of you who do not know, to access your Debug screen, go to your phone dialer and enter ##DEBUG# in your keypad. In the GNex, you have to enter *#*#DEBUG#*#* Robert via Kindle Fire using Forum Runner

  13. I wouldn't know. The State of New Mexico frowns on us rooting and installing custom ROMs. It can even be grounds for termination. Robert via Galaxy Nexus using Forum Runner

  16. I think Winter is the soonest, IMO. I have detailed schedules for almost all the first and second round markets. So I assume the ones that I don't have are the ones at the end of the Second Round. Robert via Galaxy Nexus using Forum Runner
  17. My work VZW phone will not show locations with any app. VZW blocks it. However, my Sprint devices will show VZW lat/long when roaming. Go figure. Robert via Galaxy Nexus using Forum Runner
