  1. It's depressing to consider how many of these affected sites are backhaul complete and ready for improvements. However, there are probably hundreds of others that are not backhaul complete and they cannot move on to. Dilemma, dilemma. Robert
  2. Starke. Ahhh...what a fine community. I have a lot of family in that area, especially in Keystone Heights. I know the area very well. Robert
  3. No. I am not aware of anything. The limitation is in the Android API. Unless this changes in Key Lime. Robert
  4. The Galaxy S3 does a quick tri-tone chirp at that moment when an outgoing call goes through. Robert
  5. Updated to add Ian Littman to our S4GRU Writing Staff. Welcome! Robert
  6. I agree. H block could be used pretty soon if put out for auction. However, Dish is talking about a future network, which they may actually never deploy. Robert
  7. No. Not at all. There is a good chance you are not connected to the same tower for 1x and LTE. So, it is not likely for the signal to be the same. Also, even if you are connected to LTE and 1x from the same site, 1x signal goes quite a bit farther from the site than LTE. So the farther from the site, the more the discrepency in signal being indicated. For both of these factors, relying on the signal strength indicator to determine LTE signal strength is always a faulty proposition. Anytime it is correct, it is just a coincidence, in the way that even a broken clock shows the correct time twice per day. Robert
  8. All the testing is done. I am working out the Waco LTE FIT testing articles first, then the radio articles will follow in a series afterward. Robert
  9. They launched most of the other markets to date with less than that. When we say October, it doesn't mean October 1st. It means some time in the month of October. I'm watching the next two weekly updates before I consider pushing it out. But it is still possible. If you become a S4GRU Sponsor, you can have access to the NV Sites Complete map in the Sponsor section. It shows all the sites that are complete that Sprint has accepted from the OEM's. It is updated weekly. For more information about becoming a Sponsor: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1195-information-about-s4gru-sponsorship-levels-and-how-to-become-a-sponsor/ Robert
  10. ROFLMAO!!! Wow, even Tim Cook didn't even know about all those "details!" Robert
  11. I need the 1x signal strength in dBms. Go into your phone dialer, enter ##DEBUG# Then go to 1x Engineering. Then there should be a number in there next to RSSI. Or you can download the CDMA Field Test App. Open it and get the number next to CDMA RSSI. Robert
  12. It will be discoverable then, however only at sites that have been completed with LTE to date. This document is not announcing market launch. It is only saying that sites that happen to be complete will now be able to be used. The locations complete right now are pretty widespread. Robert via Samsung Galaxy S-III 32GB using Forum Runner
  13. It will not be a better option. LTE is unlimited for smartphone data only. Sprint LTE cannot be used for someone's home ISP. The network can't support it. Sprint caps tethered/hotspot usage. Expect them to start cracking down on unauthorized tethering on the new network. Robert via Samsung Galaxy S-III 32GB using Forum Runner
  14. Deployment within the City of Chicago is just beginning. All the work to date that is now coming live are in the Suburbs and Exurbs. Robert via Samsung Galaxy S-III 32GB using Forum Runner
  15. If I don't publish an October map by October 1st, PM me and I will create one just for you. Robert
  16. Deployment will not begin in the Hawaii market until some time in 2013. Final scheduling of this market will happen later this Fall. Robert
  17. No flawed data. If you had read the comments before you posted, you would have seen it explained (several times) that this list of cities are markets that Sprint will have a launchable amount of service before the end of the year. In our San Diego article, we said that Sprint would not launch the market until the Spring of 2013. There are no surprises in this Sprint announcement at all. Robert
