  1. Thank you for writing such a friendly departure note after working for Sprint for so long. I really appreciate the maturity in this post. I hope and pray that you will even come out better for it. I have really appreciated your comments and participation the past few years. Best of luck to you in your endeavors. I hope you will continue to be a part of S4GRU in the future. Robert
  2. We have on B41 permit shown in the B41 Maps thread in the Las Vegas Valley. Robert

    AWD vs FWD

I've always wanted an Axiom. Quirky little rigs. If they had a normal stereo, I would have bought one last year. I'm quite an Isuzu fan. I miss my 2001 VehiCross. It also had the TOD system. Robert

    AWD vs FWD

I have the Borg Warner TOD system. Works great. But you can disengage the auto system and put it into 4 LOW when necessary. I have one of the last Troopers ever off the assembly line. I will keep it until it blows up. Robert

    AWD vs FWD

Subarus and in particular Foresters are very popular here in the Black Hills. I drive an Isuzu Trooper, because I need real off road capability about 3-4 times per year. And that mandates more clearance and 4WD LOW for my usage. Otherwise, I think the new Foresters are really sharp. Robert
  6. Sprint probably won't push too hard on the ones in the IBEZ since they can't use it right away anyway. But they won't let it drag on for too long. Thanks for the update! Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  7. This is true. It is very rare for Sprint to come out and announce a date specific for a city in advance. Even with all the claims Sprint promised them LTE last year, Sprint on an official level never said that. But this time they did and are on record. I think we can all feel comfortable that Sprint believes they'll have a majority of clusters launched by the end of June and all the sites within them that have backhaul ready to be broadcasting LTE. LG G2 Users Thread!

To clarify, 800 SMR rebanding in the Mexican border zone and the no 800 in the International Boundary Exclusion Zone are two different issues. Rebanding is complete along the Canadian border, but still 800 is not being deployed because of the IBEZ. The IBEZ will still be a problem along the Mexican border too after Rebanding completes in the Mexican Border BEA's. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  9. In Denver, the biggest issue is firing up NV 3G clusters, not backhaul. Most sites in Denver already have Network Vision equipment installed. But they have to stay on legacy network until each cluster is fully ready without any problems. There are many clusters in the Denver area. Each cluster has about 20-25 sites in it. They probably have some clusters that are completed. However, depending on where the transitions between clusters are located, they may not be able to bring them online without the others. Because the call drop rate may be too high between new clusters and legacy clusters. It sounds like they feel like they have to wait until all or most of the clusters can come online. When they start bringing clusters online, then NV 3G sites that also already have their backhaul upgraded too will come live with LTE at the same time, or shortly thereafter. And the remaining sites without backhaul upgraded will come online one at a time after the cluster launch as they become ready. Also, all the B41 sites will instantly become available to Triband smartphones in the clusters where NV 3G goes live. I hope that because it is so late, that they have been able to get way ahead on backhaul. It sure seems that Denver could probably come online with 50% or more of its sites with LTE when the clusters start launching. Maybe even more, if backhaul was started around the same time as Colorado Springs. But a Triband phone with B41 and B25 will probably feel pretty good around Denver when all the clusters start going live. And since they have started B26 deployment in Colorado already, they may even start going live with B26 out of the gate too. Much like what has happened in Scranton. Robert
  10. Spark (B41) is completely independent of LTE 800 (B26). Premier Sponsors can track Band 26 deployment in a thread in the Premier Sponsor section. Robert
  11. In Tapatalk you can remove preview images. Hit the back button until you back out of S4GRU and get to your forums list. Click on the menu button and select settings. Unselect Topic Images in both Image Load Preferences and Slow Connections. Now hillbilly boy will go away forever! Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  12. I've deleted it. But it's still appearing. Hopefully it will go away after a reboot or something. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  13. They only hold a small block of WCS in just one region of the country. It will not be useful to Sprint at all. WCS is only useful to AT&T. So Sprint should hold out for the best dealing can get from AT&T. Preferably some good PCS spectrum somewhere. Or good hard cash. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro

  15. It's not even that generous. If AT&T ends up with the entire WCS Band, it would be 15x15 (2305-2320MHz/2345-2360MHz). And then with guard bands, they couldn't even deploy a 15MHz carrier. At best, AT&T will really only be able to deploy a 10MHz LTE carrier in WCS. And currently, they couldn't even do that nationwide. Robert
  16. AT&T is still proceeding with Band 30. It just takes a few years to get a new band established, approved by 3GPP, and then network OEM's and device OEM's on board, FIT's put in place and testing to commence. And then they actually have to deploy the stuff. But AT&T comments about their Band 30 ambitions a couple times per year. Robert
  17. It's not useful to Sprint. And it is to AT&T. Sprint will likely sell it for the right price, or spectrum trade. Robert
  18. If it is someone's intent to take control of a plane for a grand scheme, do not rule out the possibility of being able to shut down WiFi or many other types of communications. Especially if the pilot and possibly other crew members are involved. Robert
  19. The spectrum is only authorized for interleaved narrowband transmissions on specific channels, coordinated with Mexican and Canadian companies within the International Boundary Exclusion Zone. Sprint can continue to use narrowband technologies like iDEN in the IBEZ. But that is not useful. Both CDMA and LTE are wideband operations. Coordination with International Wireless providers has not been completed between the two countries for the 800MHz SMR band. That is the problem. Robert
  20. Other than Swiftel and Shentel areas, the entire Sprint network is maintained by Ericsson Network Management (nationwide). Even in places of the vendors Alcatel Lucent and Samsung. So in Pennsylvania, Shentel maintains the network (including site equipment) in the Harrisburg, York, Altoona, Chambersburg areas. Ericsson maintains the rest of the Sprint network in PA outside the aforementioned Shentel areas. As for which OEM Vendor has the contract to install new network equipment in PA, Alcatel Lucent does Shentel areas and the Philadelphia Metro Area, Lehigh Valley and Reading areas. Samsung does all the rest of the state, including Lancaster, Scranton/Wilkes Barre, State College, Williamsport, Pittsburgh and Erie. Robert
  21. Yes, Sprint has failed. It's going to take as long as it's going to take. If Sprint doesn't meet your needs, you should find another provider. However, your post is on the line of violating the rules. We do not host Sprint complaints. Robert
  22. Some might argue it is Honolulu, Denver, Albuquerque or Western Pennsylvania. At least Richmond has some peripheral LTE and some B41 LTE. Denver is the largest city with virtually no LTE, Honolulu has no Network Vision LTE...but Albuquerque and Western PA have no LTE at all! Robert
  23. Am I the only one who thinks of Pirate Excrement whenever he sees ARPU? (say it aloud) Robert
  24. I'm not sure where you think it came from. I have not had any spam problems on my K-9 accounts, including my S4GRU email account. Robert
