  2. The tower closest to the Pit is not live yet. However, most of the Pit seats are underground. No way Band 25 is going to make it there. I've always struggled with PCS 1X and EVDO there except near the top. Band 26 may make it in there, to some extent. But probably not at the court level. Sprint would need to add DAS. Sprint customers will most likely need to use WiFi at the Pit. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  3. I doubt that Tmo customers would flee. There would be no difference to them immediately. And most of the long term differences would be improvements. The duopoly wouldn't run ads like that. They would be too wonky and hard to understand. People are not Tmo customers because of the Sprint footprint. Tmo tends to have less of a rural footprint than Sprint. Sprint not having more of a rural footprint makes it harder for them to attract duopoly customers, not Tmo customers. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro

  5. Brings back memories. That's where my eldest daughter went to Preschool. Awww... I didn't know what LTE was back then. Heck, I didn't even have 3G back in those days. Progress! Robert via Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  6. And I'm working on a Band 41 LTE update this weekend of existing WiMax towers for Premier Sponsors. Robert via Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  7. I understand. I wouldn't want them at my house either. But instead of walking away from the deal, you could call from the Sprint store. But like AMejia says above, they were out of line. Reporting seems like a good option. I doubt they will be disciplined, but it could be a good learning opportunity. He may think he can't do that. He needs to know he can, and he must. Robert
  8. If you done it one at a time, it would not have been a problem. You can activate any clean ESN on your account. Just call them and say I want to add this phone to my account, replacing another phone. They would have done it. And then call and have them do the same with your old phone on his line. Easy peasy. I've done that often trading phones with my brother or friends. It should not have been an issue for either store, though. It's too bad they had to be like that. Robert
  9. Nope. There were no LTE acceptances in ABQ or Cruces on Friday. I don't expect any more until next week at the earliest. But some testing signals might be found in the interim. Robert

  13. You can set a Band scan preference. But after you connect, LTE is network controlled. The network will decide which band you need to be on. You have no control. Robert via Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Ain't know way in the world my eyes could tell the difference between a 2K display and 1080. Seems like a waste of battery and processor to power the extra micro pixels that will not improve the screen very much. I could be wrong. However, it just doesn't move me. Robert
  20. Shhhh! I came into this corner of S4GRU to take a nap! Robert
  21. Yeah, it's not as if Sprint is struggling to pay these people. Sprint doesn't need as many employees as they used to in call centers, and they are closing stores that lose money. They are stopping the waste of additional money. It's good business. This is not a desperate decision they have to make because they are losing money. Sprint was losing money last quarter, last year and two years ago too. And they have lots of cash to continue to waste this money if they wanted. But the new Japanese leadership is not going to allow money to be spent on things that will not improve the company. That money is better spent somewhere else. If Sprint was desperate for every dollar, they would not be giving severance packages to their employees. They would be trying to keep those dollars. This is about better long term strategies in running the business. If AT&T and Verizon were cutting a small percentage of their call center workers because call volume was down and unprofitable stores, no one would mischaracterize it this way. But I love how the tech media takes a sound management decision into a desperate act to keep Sprint from going bankrupt. Sprint, under the new SoftBank ownership, will be spending $8 Billion on the network this year. More than any year Sprint ever has. Including under Network Vision the past two years. So none of this has any bearing on the LTE deployment. If anything, it strengthens it. Robert
  22. I posted an update on the newest LTE acceptances in the Sponsor forum, including a map: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/590-network-vision-site-map-phoenix-albuquerque-and-tucsonyuma-markets/?p=297016 Robert
  23. Sprint doesn't have financial issues. They are fully funded and spending more on the network than they ever have. LTE deployment is speeding up. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
