Samsung Galaxy Note 4 User Thread

Just purchased a Note 4 to replace the wife's G2 she unceremoniously dumped into the toilet.

Should be here tomorrow and the SIM will arrive today.

I've never swapped out/installed a SIM card or activated a device online.

Any advice you seasoned veterans can pass along?

The Note 4 was purchased through Swappa.

It's very easy. Just follow the instructions and you shouldn't have any problems. If you do, just call Sprint.

Sent from my Note 4.

Really simply remove backing to the phone. Remove battery, Insert Sim card. Go to Sprint website and input numbers asked for. Wait 5 minutes, install battery and power on the device.

Just looking to confirm the correct SIM is in hand.

Part#:  760492013536

Description:  SIMCARD LTEGSM 3FF USIM REMOV

If this is the correct SIM, we just need the Note to arrive.

Reading the past few pages, it appears as if the 5.1.1 release is somewhat imminent.

Thanks again for the help.

I might be wrong but if I remember correctly sprint sent me the same one for my note 4. This sim card end up being for an iphone. I visited the local store and they gave me one from an S-6. The part number  on mine is SIMGLW206R.

only thing I might recommend is taking it BACK (unless you got a wicked discount or had to had it now) since the new note 5 is expected to be announced august 15, and out august 2x..you'll have a substantial drop in value depending on features.  The new note 5 is expected to be the highest quality/spec android device for now.

Downsides might be lack of exchangeable battery and possibly galaxy 6 style.  Glass/metal back, etc..

Pretty solid points, and I appreciate your opinion on the matter.

We're a best-value type of family.  We pay cash for our devices, and they don't have to be the latest and greatest.  The $400+ we saved by purchasing the Note 4 (which does everything a Note 5 will do) goes to paying for travel, which IMO, is way more fun.

To each their own, it's all good!

Just call sprint and they will send you another SIM. If the person gives you a hassle ask to talk to the disconnection department or the international department. They will send you one for FREE.

  • 2 weeks later...

Phone been acting crazy now screen freezes random reboot. Just started yesturday had phone since nov. Anybody have these problemson 5.0 lolpop.

I had to go back to Kitkat.  Lollipop was just too horrible in so many ways.  The complete lockups and app freezes, along with the overall sluggishness, were just too annoying.  Kitkat is like my phone was new, again, in more ways than one.  Even with all my apps loaded back on, it is lightyears faster and more responsive.  Even my GPS problem, where it would constantly turn off when I had Kitkat, originally, is gone.  And, battery life is definitely better.

Just noticed the Note 4 is no longer listed on Sprint's site.

That's pretty crazy.  They still sell the LG G2, G3, and the Galaxy S5, but no Note other than the Edge?!?  How strange.

I'm downloading it too. It's 615MB so it's fairly large.

Just read a post on xda. This is indeed 5.1.1 update. People are confirming upgrade to 5.1.1

The phone seems much more snappier than before. Will need to use it through out the day to have a valid opinion on the update. But so far so good.
