Based on Fall release for both iOS 8 and Yosemite, I'm guessing a September release for iOS 8 with the next gen iPhone and hopefully Yosemite will release right before or shortly after iOS 8.

You can test drive Yosemite as a beta tester. The first 1 million people. It's on apple website in the mavericks page all the way at the bottom.

Just read the audio messages are self destructing. Very cool. Also two other features they didn't have time to talk about where that ios 8 now allows you to see battery usage per apps, like android. And you can adjust the exposure in the camera app.

Awesome!

Since my iPhone is controlled by our corporate MDM BYOD program for native email and RSA soft token, I can't install the beta. I'll grab it for iPad, though...

I tried installing the Beta but after a restart it prompted me to register as a developer and locked me out. I guess they changed the policy.

I'm not surprised. They should have done that a long time ago.

There is an app for the heart monitor using the iPhone camera and light to detect the blood flow in yah finger. Kinda like what the finger clamps do at hospitals.

I just am curious to see what they're planning. Is apple moving into a health craze? How is my cholesterol going to be managed. Blood tests daily? Lol what. Only thing realistically would be a watch or EarPods that detect pulse. Everything else no idea.

Also great when coupled with the iColon HD self-colonoscopy sensor. You can see everything with that scope.

I seriously hope that you are joking on that, because that is just absolutely disgusting in every way possible!

That is an ingenious idea because, after all, where is the safest place to keep your iPhone but up your...

So is it me or is the Difference between Ios and Android starting to get less and less? I am not here to say one operating system is stealing from another, But I haven't seen something Just completely different, something to separate the two. The people at Apple are trying to get Ios more like Android , from What I was able to read about. If the New Iphone has b41 Then I may give Iphone a test drive. But if they decide no b41, then It is obvious I will go Note 4 or New Nexus(hopefully there will be one) when it comes out.

I was just surprised that not much was leaked. Only a few things, like health fit and the flat design which was OBVIOUS.

I'm glad Apple kept more under the radar with 10.10 and iOS 8. I think some of their former executives were leaking stuff for money.

Got around to watching the keynote.  The Continuity thing looks to be a fantastic feature.  I hate having to go check my iPhone across the room when I get an SMS message, and now I'll be able to reply to those messages from my iPad or desktop Mac.

Phone calls could be useful too, but I'll have to wait to see how well speakerphone works first.

Switching among your devices while writing an email or working on a document and seamlessly continue your work will be useful as well.

Finally apps can share data and work on the same file.

Overall I was pretty satisfied with the upcoming features of iOS and Mac OS X.  Added features that competitors had that were really needed and some new features to keep them on their toes.

I bet it was Apple's own PR team. They want to leak some stuff to start building hype. Remember when the prototype "accidentally" ended up at bar?

I really think that was a mistake because the guy was so drunk he forgot it.

That wouldn't happen under Katie Cotton's watch. If there were 'leaks,' they were controlled, and to the WSJ or another reputable source - not Gizmodo.

I hadn't thought of that.  I think you are right, they wouldn't go to a small blog they would go to a large news organization to get them closer to the shareholders.

    • Since this is kind of the general chat thread, I have to share this humorous story (at least it is to me): Since around February/March of this year, my S22U has been an absolute pain to charge. USB-C cables would immediately fall out and it progressively got worse and worse until it often took me a number of minutes to get the angle of the cable juuuussst right to get charging to occur at all (not exaggerating). The connection was so weak that even walking heavily could cause the cable to disconnect. I tried cleaning out the port with a stable, a paperclip, etc. Some dust/lint/dirt came out but the connection didn't improve one bit. Needless to say, this was a MONSTER headache and had me hating this phone. I just didn't have the finances right now for a replacement.  Which brings us to the night before last. I am angry as hell because I had spent five minutes trying to get this phone to charge and failed. I am looking in the port and I notice it doesn't look right. The walls look rough and, using a staple, the back and walls feel REALLY rough and very hard. I get some lint/dust out with the staple and it improves charging in the sense I can get it to charge but it doesn't remove any of the hard stuff. It's late and it's charging, so that's enough for now. I decide it's time to see if that hard stuff is part of the connector or not. More aggressive methods are needed! I work in a biochem lab and we have a lot of different sizes of disposable needles available. So, yesterday morning, while in the lab I grab a few different sizes of needles between 26AWG and 31 AWG. When I got home, I got to work and start probing the connector with the 26 AWG and 31 AWG needle. The stuff feels extremely hard, almost like it was part of the connector, but a bit does break off. Under examination of the bit, it's almost sandy with dust/lint embedded in it. It's not part of the connector but instead some sort of rock-hard crap! That's when I remember that I had done some rock hounding at the end of last year and in January. This involved lots of digging in very sandy/dusty soils; soils which bare more than a passing resemblance to the crap in the connector. We have our answer, this debris is basically compacted/cemented rock dust. Over time, moisture in the area combined with the compression from inserting the USB-C connector had turned it into cement. I start going nuts chiseling away at it with the 26 AWG needle. After about 5-10 minutes of constant chiseling and scraping with the 26AWG and 31AWG needles, I see the first signs of metal at the back of the connector. So it is metal around the outsides! Another 5 minutes of work and I have scraped away pretty much all of the crap in the connector. A few finishing passes with the 31AWG needle, a blast of compressed air, and it is time to see if this helped any. I plug my regular USB-C cable and holy crap it clicks into place; it hasn't done that since February! I pick up the phone and the cable has actually latched! The connector works pretty much like it did over a year ago, it's almost like having a brand new phone!
    • That's odd, they are usually almost lock step with TMO. I forgot to mention this also includes the September Security Update.
    • 417.55 MB September security update just downloaded here for S24+ unlocked   Edit:  after Sept security update install, checked and found a 13MB GP System update as well.  Still showing August 1st there however.
    • T-Mobile is selling the rest of the 3.45GHz spectrum to Columbia Capital.
    • Still nothing for my AT&T and Visible phones.
